Hello Jemima :-)

A slice of Victoria sponge coming over, on a pretty lace doily especially for you :-D

Been a very dull wet day here, and very windy too.

Shame really, as it was "Race The Train Day" when hundreds of runners try to beat the Tal-y-Llyn train. Been an annual race for neary 30 years.

Hi Linda - I found it easier to understand by looking at the photos.

Anything exciting planned for today? Hope your daughter is feeling much better today.

I googled as you suggested Sue and having seen the photos, I understand now

Hello Diane :-)

Huia - if you google 'negative space in photography' as Diane suggested then go to images you will see many examples.

Very warm here for a winter's day. By lunchtime it was 24C :-0

Huia

Huia Report 17 Aug 2013 04:40

Hmmm, thanks Diane, still not entirely sure I understand, unless it is like a photo I took for the cover of a calendar I produced in 2010, of Hunua photos. I had a photo of the Hunua falls taken from the side. There was sky in the upper right hand corner and I asked the printers to add the words 'Hunua Calendar 2010' to the space.

I will probably stick with my 2 Abandoned photos as it would take too much of my time to fiddle around with other photos. I spend too much time on them as it is. :-|

This is for Huia...found it when I googled " Negative space in photography "

Negative space can give your photograph an entirely different atmosphere than the other photograph of the same subject. The absence of content does not mean the absence of interest. In fact, negative space often adds interest as it can place a stronger emphasis on the subject and it can evoke emotions effectively. Negative space brings clarity to a photograph but it also leaves a nice area that can be filled with text or boxes without taking away from the object in focus.

That's their problem, Tec :-D The twins were difficult enough at the toddler stage I can't imagine my daughter coping with triplets. I guess you do what you have to do.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 16 Aug 2013 23:21

Yes, by all accounts the triplets are a handful now. They are at pre-school, and I wonder how they manage there :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 16 Aug 2013 23:18

My brother did catch up Sue, but he did struggle right through school after that bad start.

That was in the early fifties. I think parents were more inclined to accept what the authorities said in those days. Thank goodness we live in more enlightened times when it comes to education of children that need a little extra help

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 16 Aug 2013 23:18

Triplets sound dreadful to look after, their poor mother must be run ragged

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 16 Aug 2013 23:16

Oh dear, Tec :-D Three never get on well together - there's always one that is ganged up on.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 16 Aug 2013 23:14

I was talking to my sister today - she was telling me that my nephews triplet boys aged three are little rascals.
Their mother heard screams coming from the bedroom. When she investigated two of them had fastened the third into the duvet cover, and he was panicking trying to get out :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 16 Aug 2013 23:13

Jemima - it's a shame your little 4 y.o. is finding it difficult but children find their place in the family very quickly. It's early days.

I always excuse you, Tec :-D

Poor Linda - did you get your coffee?

My daughter took it for granted that Aimee would go to a mainstream school. The preschool that she went to never suggested anything different. She has a 'one on one' teacher who works very closely with her. Did your brother catch up by his senior years in school?

We are long suffering too Tec
