Hello Sue :-D the book parade sounds interesting , I have visions of large books parading about ....lol

Hello Jem :-) I hope you are not in to much pain :-( I hope the physio exercises help you .
I've got one leg longer than the other as well but mine happened due to a road accident back in 1990 . I lurch slightly to the left all the time .....lol

Hi Sue!!! :-)

Good Morning Sue :-)

What is a "Book Week Parade"? Hope you enjoy it anyway

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 22 Aug 2013 22:05

That is very true Linda .

Good evening Tec , I'm glad your creaky knees didn't fail you altogether :-)

I hope the Duchess gets the all clear from the x-rays and doesn't have to face the physiotherapists :-S

The reason I finally went to the DRs was because I had the dreaded summons from the DWP ATOS department :-( I got through okay last time but I have heard so many dreadful tales of them and their " atos miracles " , so I thought I ought to seek the Drs help , I'm used to pain from the waist down all the time but recently I have been getting neck , shoulder and finger pain as well , I just thought it was wear and tear , as my upper body has had to compensate all these years for the lower body :-S
I now have some stronger pain killers and will wait to see what the blood tests reveal ........... the joys of getting older hey :-S

Hi Everyone :-) :-)

You be careful with those skirting boards TEC cos it'll take me about 6 hours to get to you and you and the duchess will be jolly hungry by then!!! :-| :-)

Hi LINDA- Sorry about the mix up with Esme. It's great that she's gaining weight though- that must be a good sign!:-) Did you daughter go for the scan on Tuesday then?

AMANDA- I was diagnosed with osteo-arthritis this year too. I've got it in my left hip, lowerback probs, and knees and wrists. I've also got Spondylosis in the neck which at the moment is the worse.
I've been for my second session of physio today for the lower back and hip etc. The neck was last week and I've been suffering since. Today was not as bad though. I've got exercises to do 3 times a day for everywhere! :-|

Funnily she has told me that as I have got one hip higher than the other, I will have to wear a lift in one shoe as it is making one leg longer than the other! It's taken 56 years to find this out though!:-D :-D

Went to Pembrey Country Park afterwards- just me and Grandson 1 for our usual walking. Got lost at one point! :-S :-D

Good evening friends :-)

You have all been busy doing jobs I dislike.

Amanda - I hope all goes well with the blood tests. You will have to slow down a little if you have osteoarthritis.

How frustrating it must be for your daughter and SIL, Linda. Three weeks is a long time to wait for another appointment. Good news that Esme is gaining weight.

Tec - I hope your leg is a little better today.

I won't be on too late today. We have a Book Week parade to go to at the grandchildren's school. Always good to see the children but it's still quite windy and chilly so I'm not looking forward to that.

I know the physio's do good work, but they sometimes tend to be a little over enthusiastic.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 22 Aug 2013 21:56

The physio's once gave my mother some exercises, but she wouldn't do them because they were too hard

Tecwyn Report 22 Aug 2013 21:53

Good Evening,

Linda I managed to get up unaided. You may have heard the creaks from here :-D

Amanda - I think you need a month off from Nanna duties. I hope you are not suffering to much if it's thought you may have osteoarthritis.
The Duchess is awaiting results of x-rays she had last week for back pain - the doctor suspects osteoporosis. She may have to go for physio, and I know that she won't like that.

You just have to get on with things no matter what life chucks at you

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 22 Aug 2013 21:51

Your daughter has my admiration , it cannot be easy having to deal with the complications and worry of it all , she must be a " trooper " :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 22 Aug 2013 21:47

My daughter is breast feeding her which Esme seems to prefer, but she is still expressing milk to put down the tube. I had hoped they would take the tube out, but as my daughter says, she can't take a full feed just by sucking, so she still needs the top up

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 22 Aug 2013 21:43

Well it is encouraging news that little one is putting on weight nicely :-) Three weeks is a long time to wait for a different appointment though :-( I do hope she can get rid of the feeding tube soon .

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 22 Aug 2013 21:35

They had an outpatients appointment today, but they didn't get to see any doctors. I couldn't hear what my daughter was trying to say on Skype, I think there was some confusion and she took Esme to be weighed when they should have been somewhere else in the hospital at the same time. They have to wait three weeks for another appointment. She is putting weight on though, but she still has the tube through her nose

Amanda2003 Report 22 Aug 2013 21:23

I know Linda , there will be nothing between me and the four kids except a main road , the zebra crossing is a stones throw from their new front door :-0

Glad to know your OH s tooth is all better :-D

Did you every get news on the results of Esmes tests ? I daren't read too far back in case I can't get back on this page :-S

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 22 Aug 2013 21:00

Slow down Amanda!!!!!!!

If your daughter is moving nearer, you will probably end up doing even more

OH got his tooth fixed, it only took quarter of an hour, but it was in the middle of the day so he missed his walk

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 22 Aug 2013 20:44

Good evening Linda and Tec :-)

I hope your leg is feeling a little better Tec and that the Drs have got your medication back to the proper level .

Linda , I hope your OH got his tooth sorted out okay .

It has been extra mad here , we had family visiting ( they had hired a caravan at a local park ) , I had to call a " gathering of the clan " , and have been up to my eyeballs with children and toddlers :-0
On top of that my eldest daughter is moving to a house that is more or less in sight of ours . I have been looking after Addison so she can get packed up , the move is tomorrow .
It is a houseing association new build , two doors down from the cake shop !!! I can guess where my daughter will be every day .....lol

I visited the Drs today , she suspects I may have osteoarthritis , so I have a blood test ordered Friday week :-(
I really need to slow myself down and stop trying to be " super Nanny " all the time .

LindainHerriotCountry Report 22 Aug 2013 16:32

OH is busy painting the ensuite shower room. He started off by buying a new mirror, so he has had to do the rest, it did need doing though. he only has the gloss to finish off now

I hope you aren't hurting your leg getting up and down

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 22 Aug 2013 14:49

You have been busy.

Horrible job cleaning water out of the bottom of a freezer - yuck.

Lovely warm sunny day here - I am getting skirting boards ready for painting, because I can do that on my knees. We have deep nine inch deep skirting boards, so it's quite a job.
