Having a step-father who supplies loads of books the children have little choice. They also supply Aiden with lots of books. They all like reading.

It's Drew's birthday today so this evening we are going to their home for a "Pizza and Pie" dinner party. This is what he wanted :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 22 Aug 2013 22:33

No I don't have the red pullover either Amanda :-D

Jem if you have to take a shower or bath three times a day you'll shrink :-D

Sue the Book Week sounds a great idea - I think we have something similar here. I do wonder if children are encouraged to read now, as we used to be . Though we didn't have all the other distractions that they have now

Sue , your OH has my sympathy , you do just have to keep on keeping on with it though . I don't like seeing my hands fumberling at money in my purse when I'm in the shops :-|

Amanda2003 Report 22 Aug 2013 22:28

Oh dear Jem :-( I don't like the sound of the torture exercises at all , poor you :-0

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 22 Aug 2013 22:27

Linda, my "strapping young ladies" was meant as a compliment :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 22 Aug 2013 22:27

Not sure about the strapping young women, Linda - I'll have to think about that one :-0

OH has osteoarthritis in his hands that is getting worse. Although it doesn't stop him doing chores around the house and garden yet I think he will find it more difficult as time goes on.

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 22 Aug 2013 22:26

JemimaFawr Report 22 Aug 2013 22:26

Talking of Exercises? :-S- You mean TORTURE INSTRUCTIONS they sent me home with? :-D

Seriously- I have been in worse pain with my neck this week since the physio and even more so since the exercises! I asked today if I can gradually work up to what they want me to do. Now I have the same type of exercises for the lower half 3x daily as well. She says I have to warm the area up with a shower or bath before doing them, and maybe afterwards- 3X a day? I do like a daily shower but who has time for all this!:-0 :-S

Amanda I don't think I've actually got any Rupert trousers in my wardrobe - but you can see them on the golf course.

I do have a Rupert scarf though :-D

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 22 Aug 2013 22:22

Tec , I bet you have some good quality " Rupert " trousers in your wardrobe then :-D

I had better go as " the old woman who lived in a shoe " ....lol

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 22 Aug 2013 22:19

Tec , your advice to Jem is very sound about having a built up shoe now , it can take years to adjust once ones body is set wrong :-S

I don't think I'm ready to go for the " spare parts " bit yet , I'll have my " stuff and nonsence " head back on by tomorrow :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 22 Aug 2013 22:18

Can I go as Rupert please?

or Peter Pan :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 22 Aug 2013 22:17

Sue - are we pleased that Tec called us strapping young ladies :-S

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 22 Aug 2013 22:16

Hello Jem :-)

This week is Book Week when the schools promote the importance of reading. The local libraries also have different activities going on too. For the parade the children dress as their favourite character which looks really cute but is such a pain for the parents. It's also winter so it's difficult to dress the children as they want to be dressed when it's quite chilly.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 22 Aug 2013 22:15

I imagine the children dressing up as characters from the books, we will have to wait for Sue to inform us

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 22 Aug 2013 22:15

Hello Jemima - I can always crawl through to the kitchen :-D Be careful that a built up shoe doesn't cause you more problems after all these years being accustomed to walking as you are.

Amanda - It's such a shame the Body Shops went out of business. Many of us could do with a trip there :-D

Those strapping young ladies Linda and Sue are the fittest here :-D

Poor Amanda and Jem. sit down and put your feet up, sue will look after you because she is the youngest here

My daughter did go for her scan, they weren't sure so gave her some antibiotics and told her to come back next week for another one
