They would come out, if it was necessary. They are on the district, but hold the dressings clinic for an hour a day for the walking wounded who can get there.
Many people in the villages don't have transport, or are too ill to go to them.
It wouldn't be fair to call them out while I can get there really.

The doctors here won't do house calls, except for the terminally ill.

Sorry your leg is still the same Tec. Sometimes I think we treat things better ourselves as we know what works best for us!

I haven't been pickled for a long, long time either-UNFORTUNATELY! :-( :-D

The strangest lightening that I ever saw was about 10 years ago. OH and I had got fed up and decided very late one night to go down to Ferryside (the village on the Towy Estuary where I grew up) and sat on the beach front overlooking Llanstephan. Then all of a sudden, down over the Llanstephan Mountains came streaks of vertical white lightening, but there was absolutely no sound at all! No thunder, or rain, just eerie silence! :-S

Well, they should come out to you. Tell them, I said so

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 23 Aug 2013 21:55

I have done that before now, but I have to go as that is the only way I can get the dressing on prescription. You can't buy it.
The other thing is should I get an infection in it I have to have anti=biotics.

Sometimes I phone to say I can't go, and do myself.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Aug 2013 21:51

Why don't you stay at home and do it yourself?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 23 Aug 2013 21:49

No improvement in the leg Linda - The nurse I saw last week was on duty. I have custody of my own dressings now, but had to instruct her as how to do it as she had never seen it before, although that dressing is widely used in hospitals, and has been for years. :-(

Is the hole in your leg any better Tec? You know you love the supermarket really

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 23 Aug 2013 21:44

The sky looked very threatening as it went dark, I think we may be in for heavy rain overnight Linda.

Jem, I haven't been pickled for such a long time :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Aug 2013 21:43

I wouldn't know Jem :-0

Wow, we have just had a huge rumble of thunder

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Aug 2013 21:39

It has been a very nice day, but late afternoon, it became really hot and humid. about 7pm it suddenly went really dark and we had a few rumbles of thunder and some quite good lightening. It started raining ver hard about an hour ago and it is still sheeting down now.

Tecwyn Report 23 Aug 2013 21:37

Hello, :-)

Another nice day here once the sea fog cleared around 11 o'clock, but it was very close and humid.

I spent the afternoon being entertained by the nurse at the hospital, then shopping at the supermarket.

The world and his wife were in town - it was bedlam. Nowhere to park, and the supermarket was a complete nightmare.
Halfway round, limping, I wondered why I was there at all. I'm sure we could have managed for a few days till the crush was over.
Had I any sense I would have gone this evening, they are open till 10 o'clock, when it would be empty. Still as I was there anyway, and it is a 20 mile round trip.

Another couple of weeks and the tourists will all have gone home, and we can all go back to sleep again........It is nice to see them though :-D

Carole - I am sad to see that you are leaving us. I always look forward to your news. Anyway, maybe you will come back soon. I do agree that the site is enough to try anyone's patience at the moment. Perhaps you can send a message now and then through another site - take care of yourself, hope the family are well, son with his driving, and daughter at Uni.

Persie I hope you have a good time in Wellington with your daughter - take care and stay safe.

Jem I went to town in my Superman get up, but no one noticed :-D although there were so many strange sights that maybe it was considered normal :-D

Linda - Are you still up to your neck pickling things - you could start a cottage industry, and become a pickle tycoon :-D.

JemimaFawr

JemimaFawr Report 23 Aug 2013 21:18

Linda-They are still trying to work out what they want to call him, spellings-modern or traditional etc. :-S

It's wonderful about Esme. It shouldn't be long now before the tube is out as she is doing so well. :-)

What's the weather been like up in Yorkshire today. It was hot, sunny and very pleasant here yesterday , but today it's humid and drizzly, with occasional heavier showers and then sometimes quite cold as well!! The great British Summer! :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Aug 2013 21:10

I hope that you have a really nice time Persie, I hope that the journey goes smoothly

I only have the two grandchildren Jem. My son is older than my daughter and lives with his long term partner, but she doesn't want any children. That is a great shame because he is so good with little ones.

Esme seems to be coming on well although she has been a bit snuffly and colicky for a couple of days. She is being breastfed almost exclusively with very little through the tube,so if she continues like that my daughter hopes they will take the tube out soon

All babies are sick, some do spectacular projectile vomiting,so I am sure your grandson will be fine. Have they announced the names yet?

JemimaFawr

JemimaFawr Report 23 Aug 2013 20:59

Hi Everyone,

Linda don't worry. He is fine :-) He was sick a bit in the night a couple of nights ago, but then all babies are occasionally. How are your two? Is it just the 2 you have? And how is your daughter now?

Carole- I'm sorry you are going! Everyone is upset by Genes Reunited at the moment it seems. :-(

I have a platinum membership, until December I think. It is on automatic renewal , but I've done mostly all I can do on my tree at the moment without doing extra research in churchyards (3399 people).
I do Pembrokeshire every so often, but I want to eventually go further afield. When my grandson who I am bringing up is old enough to be on his own here, I want to spent some time away researching. He would be bored stiff :-\ if I took him with me!

Huia- :-) Let us know what photos you are submitting to you Camera Club.

Berona and Amanda- We should start an Arthritis Thread. or a Complain about Complaints Thread!!!!! :-D :-D :-D
Sue- How did your Book Parade go? And Drew's Birthday Dinner- Did he have a good time? :-) Did Tec fly in for it in his Superman outfit? Was in a Bird, was it a plane, NO it was Tecwyn, Super-man :-D :-D

Hi Persie :-)- I hope you enjoy Wellington. We certainly needed them here today!:-D

Hi to all the rest of you on the Australian Thread :-)

Morning all ...

Was displeased with the site yesterday because GR had hidden hobbies and military. So told them so grrrhhh on sticky thread on Chat.

I mentioned you Linda, on Glossie Ann's pickle and relish etc thread.. said to ask you for some recipes. Knew you could do saucy :-)

I am off to Wellington shortly.. it is foggy here so we may be late getting off the tarmac.

I will enjoy your company elsewhere Carole. Sorri I was really no help with you getting on the site and posting.. I resort to trickery with back arrows and changing the url at the same time.

Take care all and love to the two little wee ones..

I haven't caught up re Tec's leg so hope it is enjoying you wearing happy socks on your "happy feet."

Persie :-)

Goodness it is humid. They are threatening large thunder storms, we could do with one to clear the air.

I delivered Meals on Wheels at lunchtime and I have just been into the square to do some shopping a, I thought it was just starting to rain as I got back, but it has held off

Oh Carole I will miss you <3 <3 <3 <3

Jem I forgot to ask how your grandson is coming on. that was very remiss of me. I was trying to do something else at the same time and obviously my multi tasking skills are not what they used to be.

You still manage to tango with Tec Berona, so your knees can't bethat bad

I hope you survived the book day Sue

Hello everyone,

My sub runs out tomorrow the 24th, I wont be renewing. I have been in contact with support, but they only seem interested in taking my money and not with the problems I am having with error messages, which is a shame because I have not only made some really good friends on here, I have also made some amazing contacts with my family tree.
So, I shall take a break and maybe come back when the site is working as it should.
I will still read our thread....so be good :-) or not :-D

Love to you all..

Carole <3

Same problem here, Huia. By the time I finish reading four pages (80 posts), just as I get to the end, everyone is saying 'goodnight'.

Join the club if you have osteo-arthritis. I've had it for many years. Mostly in the right wrist (which I broke many years ago) and of course, the knees. I have all the usual old age ailments, but all are kept under control. However, I am right-handed and I need my knees for walking, so these are the worst-affected. I can't stand on my feet for long or walk far, without having to sit down for a while - and I do rely on a walking stick, in case my left knee decides to go the opposite way! It sometimes clicks, without any warning, and feels like it is going backwards (like a dog's hind leg). That's when I need the stick, if there is nothing around to grab. Oh, to be young again!!
