I'm full of good ideas, Linda :-)

I saw on FB that my older son is getting another tattoo :-(

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Aug 2013 22:26

That sounds like a good idea Sue, then you can go somewhere for a nice lunch

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 24 Aug 2013 22:23

I'm sorry your leg is causing such pain, Tec :-(

I am up early, Linda :-)

We didn't go to the markets after all. The wind came up again and as the markets are held down by the lake it would have been miserable. We may go to our local markets this morning. The sun is shining and the wind has died down.

Tecwyn Report 24 Aug 2013 22:20

Good Morning Sue,

I think we are all tired :-( I wouldn't mind if we had all been up all night partying the night away.

It was very humid here last night, that didn't help, and my perishing leg was driving me insane as well - hopefully a better night tonight.

Anything exciting in the markets? :-)

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Aug 2013 22:17

I think you all have sun stroke

No need for men in white coats - we are all mad here.

Hello young Sue, you are up early

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 24 Aug 2013 22:13

Hello everyone :-) You all sound so tired :-(

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 24 Aug 2013 22:07

Jemima, I can confirm that they do have men in white coats in Australia. I assume that Allan was sane when he left this country, but perhaps something obnoxious bit him.
I once had many Australian friends, and without exception they all seemed to be afflicted by some form of insanity. :-D I think it comes from hanging upside down.

Hello Linda - Yes Allan frequently went for walks in the moonlight talking to his wheelie bins - well, at least that's what he told us. :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Aug 2013 21:56

Didn't he go for early morning walks and chat to them as he went

Hello Jem, I am tired. I prefer to go to bed by 10.30 and watch News night before going to sleep but I end up chatting on here until Sue gets up. hopefully once the clocks change it will be easier

Do they have men in white coats in Australia Tec? :-D :-D

He is very good at the quizzes and also amusing!

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 24 Aug 2013 21:52

Hello Jemima,

Thank you for relaying the message from Major Disaster. :-D

You will not be aware, but a couple of years ago he was planning a major offensive of Australia, gathering up his army of wheelie bins as he went. He has quite a following of wheelie bins, and has a rendezvous in the early hours most days in his neighbourhood with them.

:-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Aug 2013 21:44

It sounds like we both need an early night

We regularly have cars coming off the road. There is a long straight stretch with no street lights,so the cars put their foot down. They then suddenly realise they have reached a ninety degree turn, but they are going too fast to make it. The way the houses are configured they can't be seen,so there was nothing to warn the drivers. They bounce over a grassed area and end up on our drive. One of these days they will hit our garage. Last year the neighbours had a visitor staying when a car came off the road and did lots of damage to the visitors car. Our new neighbours never put their cars in the garage, so it is only a matter of time before their cars are damaged.

We did get the council to paint some black and white reflective paint onto the kerb which has helped. That works during the day as well and slows the cars down

Hi Everyone-

Tec- I have a message for you and the Aussie Thread from Allan as follows-

Quote- "Please pass on my regards to all on the Aussie thread but particularly to Tec

Tell him that I have restarted my plans for world domination using my army of wheelie bins!

In future I'm to be known by my military title of Major Disaster or it may even be General Rubbish :-D :-D " unquote.

He sounds a character! :-)

Sorry you had a bad night Tec. Is your leg very painful?
It's awful when your sleeping pattern gets out of routine. You don't feel right all day.
Since the summer school holidays, I have been going to bed far to late, and getting up later. Doesn't suit me really. Also I'm up 3 or 4 times every night, so I very often feel groggy!
I was crossing words with Allan until around 1 o'clock this morning! Quizzes are addictive. Also I can be competitive! :-S

Linda-You also have had a bad night! So we are probably all tired! You sound like you and your OH have had a very busy day!

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 24 Aug 2013 21:22

Hello :-),

Sounds like you both had a very busy day at the cinema Linda - sounds like a big job, but worthwhile in the end I expect.
Whatever will you do with all the rubbish taken out?

Strange happening with the car outside in the night. Luckily it wasn't just abandoned completely and never collected. That can happen, then eventually you have to pay to have it taken away yourself if the owner can't be traced, ie no plates or identification.

We had an incident a few years back when I heard an almight smash outside in the middle of the night. When I went outside, two drunken young men had smashed their old banger into the side of my neighbours car that was parked in the road. Their car and my neighbours were entangled in torn metal, and the lads were trying to reverse their car free. They ignored me telling them they couldn't just drive off, and managed to drive off eventually with bits falling off their car as they went.
I phoned the police and they were picked up in Fairthingy.
There was £3,000 worth of damage to my neighbours nearly new car. He hadn't heard any of this as they slept in the rear of the property.

I also had a bad night last night - got up at 5am, went back to bed at 7am, then overslept until 10 am. Today I am shattered and have done very little

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Aug 2013 20:45

It is only 8.30pm but I am wondering if it is time for bed yet :-(

Apart from working hard today,I also woke up a few times in the night. The longest time was at four am when there was some sort of commotion going on outside, there were people talking for a while, but I wasn't going out to see what was happening. It sounded like female voices

This morning when we went out, there was a car parked half on the pavement with its hazard warning lights on. One wheel was jacked up and the tools were on the pavement, but there was no one there. The wheel was damaged,so it looks like it didn't make the right angled bend, this happens fairly often. I assume they were too drunk to get the wheel nuts off,so just left the car and tools and walked home. It was gone by the time we came home in the afternoon

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Aug 2013 17:13

I would love to take you round all the Huddersfield villages Carole

I am shattered because it was very hard work. Poor OH is just about on his knees, he is not used to hard manual labour. They worked incredibly hard and removed lots of old pipework which was not needed as well as skirting boards, the old lino and hardboard etc.

The building is over 150 years old and everyone has added things to it over the years, but no one has ever removed pipes or wires which are redundant

Carolee

Carolee Report 24 Aug 2013 09:16

I know you would Linda. I am the same with where you are, seeing the history isn't the same as reading about it, if you get my meaning.
There are still some very old original buildings in Geelong, some of the churches date back to the early 1800's. Its the same in Ballarat.

Don't work too hard. Enjoy your day, I hope the weather is still nice over there.
I feel spring is not far off here, bulbs are popping up everywhere :-)

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Aug 2013 08:50

I hope you do give in Carole.

As you know, I would love to go to Geelong

I am off to the cinema now to help pack things up from the kitchen. The floor at the back of the downstairs auditorium is going to be replaced with concrete over the next two weeks before any customers disappear through it. Some of the back rows of seats have to be removed today, but that is man's work!

The cinema will still be open, but only the balcony seats

Linda, I almost forgot :-)

I am glad to read Esme is feeding better, I hope she continues to improve <3

Tec, take care of that leg, ulcers are nasty and very painful. Take care of you and the Duchess, oh and give Taffy an extra treat from me :-)

I very well may miss you all too much and give in to my principles...
