Poor little boy - he is the same age as Aimee and Joel so I can just imagine how terrifying it would have been for him. It would also have been a nightmare for his parents. Thank goodness he was found and that it isn't winter.

My goodness! Nobody gone to bed yet? I must be improving.

Yes, winter is almost over - 3 more days - and I heard yesterday that we have had 35 winter days when the temp has been 20 or more. That's a record. - yes, another record! Yesterday and to-day are not included in that figure and should be.

We still have the low temps overnight, but the sun brings them up during the day. I indulge myself by setting my heater to come on early in the morning, but I can now turn it off soon after I emerge dressed for the day. That's enough to take the chill off the air, so that I can open the back door and leave it open all day.

Hope all of you are keeping well. Tec - you take care of that leg - AND your B.P. and of course, I like to hear how the babies are progressing - well, I hope.

Now we know what tricks Linda gets up to when pretending to have been busy :-D

A seven year old boy was picked off the mountain here last night during darkness by an RAF helicopter using heat seeking equipment. He disappeared after falling down the mountain and landing on a grassy bank. Poor little boy must have been terrified until they found him.
I don't think he was seriously hurt.

I hope so too Tec - I'm putting the phone on the answering machine so that I don't have to deal with any volunteer stuff. The family have my mobile phone number should they need me urgently.

It's so good to get days like that in the winter Sue, sort of shortens the winter. You don't suffer frosts like we do, so if your plants start to grow they shouldn't get cut down by frost as happens here if we have an unseasonal warm spell in winter.

Just before your OH comes in, spray some furniture polish into the air then you can tell him you have been cleaning all day

You'll get a good night's sleep if you choke yourself into unconsciousness, Tec - not the best way though :-(

The weather is amazing. Yesterday we sat out in the garden with short sleeves and had to move into the shade as it was too warm in the sun.

I have the house to myself today so I intend sorting out some photos and indulging in craft.

I think we have had a very strange year weather wise. Along winter followed by a late Spring. Everything in the garden was late, then when it did warm up everything seemed to shoot up. Most of my plants, flowers and shrubs have been bigger and better than ever this year.

I can sometimes get to sleep by listening to music through my ear phones, then wake up with the wire around my neck :-D

Yes I did Linda although I'm a light sleeper so I generally wake up on and off through the night.

The sun is shining although it's a cool morning. It was said on the news yesterday that this is the warmest August in many years. It's more like late spring than late winter. Loads of plants are starting to wake up and some of my orchids are already flowering.

I find if I nap through the day which is very rare then I have problems sleeping at night.

It's very difficult to get through the day when you haven't had a good night's sleep.

Not sleeping really grinds you down doesn't it - then strangely you seem to be too tired to go to sleep at night. I find myself nodding off during the day if I sit down.

Maybe you are right about Eve getting you back to a sleeping routine after getting you up early.

Normally I have never been able to have a nap during the day, even if I wanted too.

My goodness - you're both still having problems sleeping and suffering with sore extremities :-(

I am really tired, I don't seem to be able to sleep until the early hours, but then I don't want to get up. I even went to sleep at lunchtime today which is not like me

still Eve will have me up early so I hope that will get me back into routine
