Hello Jem, the finger is fine thanks as long as I don't knock it. The cut was deep so it will take time to heal.

I am glad that the baby is coming on, but doesn't he have a name yet?

My poor daughter did have a d&C this morning, but it went well,so hopefully she will be fine from now on. She could have done without all the hassle of course.

This morning I picked all the cooking apples from the tree in the allotment because they were starting to fall off. We have eaters as well, but they can wait a bit. I will get all the green tomatoes next week and make lots of chutney before we go away on our hols.

Hi Everyone :-) :-)

How are the two walking wounded Linda and Tec?

Are your puncture wounds healing Tec? How is Taffy- is he still being a "bounder"?! :-D
Didn't you have a nurses appointment that you had to take your leg to today? Hope your ulcer is starting to heal now and that you are up to date with your tetanus jabs.

Linda-
How is your finger now? hope it is healing nicely. I bet you are looking forward to your visit tomorrow. Eve will be very excited. Hope little Esme is coming along well.

Sue-
How are you and your family? Are you enjoying your craft day? (or should I have said yesterday? I get confused with the time differences!)

Berona-
Sorry about your doctor problem. I do exactly understand what you mean. I am the not in the least racist but I have a Polish lady doctor, and although she is a good doctor, she has a brusque manner, and you cannot talk to her. She just reads the computer screen aloud, cuts you short if you are trying to talk about your worries, and is impatient. No bedside manner at all.

My surgery used to be a part of a group of practices, and I started with one lady doctor, then another who then changed surgeries, and before I knew it I was assigned to this one. Now they have split from the other groups and gone independent again with no other real alternative choice of doctor.

Had a lovely day yesterday. Took Grandson 1 and Granddaughter 1, who is staying with us, to town first to look for last minute school items etc. Then I took them to Pembrey Country Park. We went for a long walk through the forest and then down to Cefn Sidan- Pembrey's beach, then back through the forest again. Had our picnic tea then the children played football while I did a crossword.

Baby is doing fine. He was weighed this morning- 10lb 8oz. He has had to go on lactose free milk though as he may be intolerant. He has quite a lot of loose stools and as Granddaughter number 4 was lactose intolerant and had lots of allergies when she was a baby, they are trying to see if this could be his problem too. It doesn't seem to affect him apart from this problem though. He is contented and sleeps well.

Hi Huia if you are looking in from the internet cafe! :-)

Hi~~~~~~~~~ to anyone else looking in
Love Jem <3

Oh dear Berona, I hope that you can find someone else quickly. Of course here we have a different system Most doctors work together in a group called a health practice. We have two in our small town,so you just approach which ever group you fancy and ask to be taken on.If a group is full you can ring the equivalent of the local health board and they will tell you which groups in your area have vacancies. You then need to make an appointment where they decide if they will take you on, not the other way around.

I don't actually know who my doctor is because she died a couple of years ago, my health card still has her name on it.I rarely go, but if I do I just see who ever has a free appointment. You can ask to see a specific person so that you get continuity of care, but that doesn't matter to me at the moment

In many of the large cities now, they just have drop in NHS centres where you just walk in and wait to see someone.

Well, you got your money's worth, Huia. (Or were you frightened by an octopus?
Hope you get it all sorted soon.

Rang my doctor to get BT results to-day, and he told me that he is retiring at the end of next month.and the practice is being closed down, so I have to look for a new doctor! That was a shock. He said he will pass on my records to the person I choose. That will help, but it still means extra tests and time, etc. before the new doc will feel that he knows me. They have to be very careful of new patients, particularly oldies like me, whose memory is not as good as it used to be.

I'm not a racist, but where my health is concerned, I want the best I can get, and I couldn't find anyone who had done their study in this country or UK, when I changed over about ten years ago. As it was, I think my current Chinese doctor studied here, but I found him hard to understand and he has sometimes not been able to understand me either. So, I'll start looking now and hope that I find someone soon.

I have been missing for the last 4 days as my dial-up modem fried in a thunderstorm. I am still waiting for the new one to come, hopefully tomorrow, and using a computer in an internet cafe.

That fly past practice would be interesting to watch Linda.

I don't find the Typhoon's interesting, just terrifying :-0

Well it's time for bed,

Enjoy your day Sue, and Berona,

Sleep well Linda tonight.

Goodnight
Tec :-)

Sorry Sue, no results yet, the next appointment is not until 12th Sept, although she has a hearing test on Friday. There is nothing wrong with that, she reacts to Eve's racket

Your daughter will be glad to get that sorted so she can concentrate on Esme. I take it there are no results yet from Esme's tests?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 27 Aug 2013 23:21

Yes Linda - he must have been very frightened up there in the dark not knowing if anyone was coming. I wonder if HRH was flying the chopper.

Talking of such things, we were subjected to low flying exercises by the RAF and their Typhoon fighter/bombers today. I think they left my chimney intact, but the noise is deafening.

Hello Berona, I am just about here

We are going down to see Eve and Esme on Thursday so I will be able to give you an update then

My daughter went for her second scan today to see if any placenta was left behind. The said it looked Ok, but when she got home she had a phone call to say that the consultant wants to see her in the morning and he will decide if he is going to do a d&c. She hasn't got to have anything to eat after midnight in case they do it, She will be out by the afternoon if they do

Good Morning Berona,

Well this is a lovely surprise - it is good that you are having such mild weather, and it will help with the heating bills.
Just because I am incapacitated I hope that you are still practising the tango, and haven't given up.
Just don't scare Kitty as you glide across the living room floor :-D
