Goodnight Tec

Hope you have a lovely time with your family, and that they finish the decorating for you. You can stop worrying about it then and rest that leg.
Hope your ulcer will improve soon

When we first had Sky, we watched some old episodes of The Prisoner. What a weird programme it was!!!! :-S

It's a difficult situation Linda but I think it will be handled well. There has been a lot of discussion about how it is to be handled. There are big changes in the centre because of renovations so the meeting will be a recap of what our volunteers do and how the changes will affect them. It can be done diplomatically.

I spent a good day yesterday (Wed) sorting out photos and doing some scrapbooking. I only stopped to go and pick up the children from school and then did a little more after tea.

Hello Jemima - I've been to Portmerion twice. It is very interesting. My only criticism was the pretend painted windows on some on the buildings. My view is either have a proper window, or don't. Petty I know, but that's me :-D.
Cantankerous old devil :-)

Hello Sue, Your meeting should be interesting - far better to address a group rather than single out individuals. I hope it goes well.

I hate it when a group is pulled up because some are not doing their duties. That is not fair on those who are doing a good job. Just my view of course

Hello everyone - lots of chatty news :-)

Jamie is a nice name, Jem. Nice to hear he is coming along nicely.

Linda - it's good that your daughter has that procedure out of the way. She has enough on her plate.

Hopefully your leg will start getting better Tec and you will have relief from what must be constant pain. Hope your sister gets to visit.

I'm off early this morning as I am going to be an observer at a very interesting meeting. A small number of volunteers in the treatment centre aren't doing their duties as well as they should and the co-ordinator and a staff member are going to speak to them all rather than pick out individuals. They are treating the morning as a social event and sitting over coffee instead of looking after the patients. I'm just listening in and taking notes.

Hello Linda,

Hope you have a good time with Eve and your daughter - though I expect Eve will keep you on your toes :-D.

Yes I do hope my sister can visit. We have always been close since childhood, and always secretly believed we didn't belong to the others :-D

I can't stay on her very long as I still have some things to do in readiness for tomorrow.

Hi Linda and Tec,

Have a lovely time in London Linda. Hope your daughter is feeling ok after the d&c, poor thing.

Tec- If it was me, I would have called the baby James but use Jamie as a pet name to have the 2 options. Then when he is being naughty you can shout "James"! My daughter doesn't like James for some reason. One reason she wanted to call him Jayme was to shorten it to Jay. We don't like Jay very much.

My husband has always wanted to go to Port Meirion as he watched The Prisoner when he was young. When I stayed in North Wales 14 years ago, some of my group of friends went there, but I didn't as I decided to wait until he could go as well.

Sorry that there's no improvement in your ulcer Tec.

I hope that your sister will be able to visit you Tec

I am sure that your daughter will finish all the painting for you, just try and look pitiful :-D

We are going down to London tomorrow and won't be back until Monday evening I will take my computer, but I usually don't have much time to go online

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 28 Aug 2013 21:35

Good Evening/Morning everyone,

Been a lovely day here, but tomorrow doesn't look good.

Glad that your daughter is now ok Linda. A nuisance that she had to go back for that procedure today.

I took my leg to the dressings clinic today. The ulcer is no better, but seemingly no worse, though extremely painful to walk.

Jemima - Jamie is a nice name for a boy, though being old fashioned I prefer the traditional James :-D One of my now departed little fan club is called Jamie, a delightful little boy aged four. He is so polite and inquisitive, and frequently asked for a tour of the garden, asking all sorts of questions. He was our favourite of the five children, though of course one shouldn't have favourites.

Berona I hope you manage to find a doctor's practice that suits you. It isn't racist to at least be able to understand your doctor, and he/she you. I have come across that problem at times. We have a practice of four doctors. We register with one of the four, but if that particular doctor is not available you can see another if you need to see them.

My daughter, SIL, and grand daughter are coming tomorrow to paint the ceiling, and maybe the walls I haven't been able to finish. I will be so pleased to get it done as it's been dragging on far too long, and is now getting on my nerves.

Also my sister who lives in Yorkshire phoned today, she is hoping to visit in September, when her OH is hoping to visit Portmeirion, the Italianate Village.
I t will be lovely to see her again. We keep in regular contact, but I haven't seen her since my mother's funeral nearly eight years ago.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 28 Aug 2013 18:01

lol, I would have dumped him there and then.

Jamie is nice and at least he is not going to have to spend his life correcting the spelling

My niece is pregnant at the moment and she wants to call her baby Erryn. Of course everyone will think it is Errin, why they have to mess about with the spellings I don't know

JemimaFawr

JemimaFawr Report 28 Aug 2013 16:24

Hi Linda,

My daughter hasn't picked a middle name yet but has decided on his first name- Jamie. She wanted to spell it Jayme, but that spelling is more linked to girls as is Jaime (Bionic Woman)

I wish I was as accomplished as you with such things! My problem was that my husband will not eat hardly anything, so although I could follow a recipe I am not a confident cook. And as I would end up having to eat the lot I don't bother. When we were courting I made a surprise dinner for him- Coq Au Vin. He wouldn't even put a fork in it! I should have been warned !!! :-D
