I hope it's a lovely day out for you all, Amanda.
In October my son in Hobart will be visiting with Aiden and Aiden's mum. For the first time in a long while I will have all my family together. The children are all very excited.

Tec , I'm hoing the hens will at least teach each other to lay eggs , the old one is " broody " and the young one just looks confussed ......lol I'm glad you enjoyed the rest , it isn't the easiest thing to step aside and let loved ones help .
Tomorrow we will be hopefully having a big family day out :-0 It is the Raveningham country fair , an event we have enjoyed in the past . Seeing as the girls are all mobile this year I decided to gee them all up into coming along . With four vehicles at our disposial there ought to be enough seats for bodies . They have been told to bring their own picnics ! lol I think I'm looking forwards to it to much , it is bound to go awry on me , families can be difficult juggle to but the kiddies will all enjoy having a day out together........I hope :-S

Not sure I would dare set foot in the garage - it's one area I leave alone :-0
Through the volunteer organisation we work for we lease out mobility scooters that have been donated. It's amazing how much independence they give people who would normally find it difficult to get around.

Amanda maybe the old hen will teach the young hen a few tricks about being a hen. It was funny being banished from my own living room, but I did enjoy the rest and just being the tea/coffee boy. :-D
Sue I should sneak out to the garage now to inspect the shelves - but whatever you do don't tell them that they are not up straight :-D Nothing gets a man's back up more than that - I know :-D

Sorry I disappeared for awhile - we lost power for about 5 minutes.
Hello Jem - you are busy :-)
I should check to see if the shelves were actually put together, Tec. I didn't think about that. They both came in with a beer so you could be right :-D

:-D Hello again ,
One of the lonely hens is old and the other is rather young I think :-S but I'm still hoping they will become good friends .
Tec , it is lovely to know that your daughter , SIL and granddaughter have all been helping with your decorating and that you where told to " go and sit down ! " :-) I'm sure your poor leg would have been happy with such an order .
Berona , I also think you ought to look into getting a mobility scooter . My OHs mother got one after she gave up her car , OH doesn't speak to her , ( long story ) but we hear via our daughters that she gets out and about on it , quite probably more than she did the car towards the end .
Hello Sue :-D I expect your OH will soon have his new shelves stacked with what ever men put on their shelves :-S
Hello Jem , I haven't been into my tree for ages , now it is almost Autumn perhaps I 'll have a go at climbing it again ....lol

Hello Jemima, You are being very good, concentrating on your tree - I should do more of that. As you are a tall, blond Swedish girl I expect that you look like Brit Ekland :-)
I should kick the terrier at my ankle, but I'd only fall over :-D.
Going to make coffee now

I did manage to sit down in between calls for coffee :-D I had intended to help with the painting, but they were quite adamant that I should go away and mind my own business while they got on with it :-D Daughter and SIL are coming back in three weeks after grand daughter has returned to Uni. It will take me that long to do what I have to do with the painting as I can only work for a short time unfortunately.
Maybe you should check that the shelves in the garage actually went up if they were so quiet about it. Maybe they were out there playing dominoes, and enjoying a beer or two - banging on something occasionally to make you think they were busy :-D

Hi Everyone :-) :-)
Just a quick post tonight as I am working on my tree at the moment.
Just found some Census' of my 3x Great Grandmother's sister and her family in Nolton, Pembrokeshire. The Codd Family is where I get my Swedish blood from! Family Legend has it that the Pembrokeshire Codds have all descended from Swedish Brothers who were shipwrecked off St Bride's Bay! Pembrokeshire, W.Wales. This is probably why I am tall and blonde with a liking for Abba!!!! :-D :-D
I'll pop in and out of thread as I'm working- although I may get side-tracked by the quizzes later!!!
Sue- Hope you enjoyed your meeting :-D
Tec- Lovely that your daughter and son-in-law managed to do the decorating. :-) Take your time at what's left, so that the terrier at your ankle does not get ferocious :-| Hope Taffy is behaving himself :-D
Hi Amanda :-) Two lonely old birds, not lonely anymore- sounds like a line from a funny song :-D Well done!
Linda- Hope you are having a wonderful time in London :-)
Berona- Hope you have sorted the doctor situation.
Hi~~~~~to anyone else looking in- Love Jem <3

I hope you managed to rest that leg but then if you were the chief coffee maker you wouldn't have got too much rest :-D
My OH and son spent some time putting together some metal shelves for the garage yesterday. There was no swearing so I think it went well :-D

Good Morning Sue :-)
No, they didn't move the heavy sideboard this time, as I need to strip the wallpaper behind it, and paint the wall there, and they would need to be here to help me put it back again. So they are coming back in a few weeks to concentrate on just that. Meanwhile I can get on with the gloss painting skirting boards, picture rails, and door and frame. They did remarkably well in the time they were here, and we're delighted with the result. I wasn't allowed to help and was banished from the room, just allowed to make lots of coffee :-D

Hello everyone - I'm up early this morning.
Amanda - you've made two lonely girls very happy :-)
Linda - new babies are a lot of work but they are lovely to cuddle. I'm sure Eve is enjoying having you there to play with :-)
Tec - it sounds like a very productive visit from your family. Did they move the oak sideboard for you?
Berona - a mobility scooter would be ideal for you. The weather has been lovely here although we didn't reach 28C here on the coast yesterday.

Hello,
Linda I hope you are having fun helping with Esme, and playing with Eve. Have you been to the swings today? :-)
Amanda - How kind of you to find a good home for the lonely hen. Very sad to see a hen on her own. They seem to spend all their time talking to each other when together, or so it seems to me.
Berona I hope the Surgery near you turns out to be satisfactory - I think you should consider a mobility scooter, then you can get there under your own steam as it were, and you have an empty garage to house it :-D
My daughter, SIL, and grand daughter have been here decorating for two days. They went home earlier today, having given the ceiling two coats of paint, including the 18 inch frieze between ceiling and picture rail. They also undercoated all the woodwork, so I just have to gloss paint it now. I also have two walls to decorate. They did work hard, and I am so pleased to have the ceiling done, as it would be too difficult for me as I can only stand on one leg at the moment, bit like a stork :-D

Hello folks :-D
Linda , I hope you are enjoying London and seeing Eve and Esme . I expect she has settled down well at home and that Eve will enjoy showing off her baby sister :-)
Berona , it sounds as if winter has certainly swiftly :-S It has been rather a warm day here ( for the beginning of our Autumn ) apparently we can expect cooler weather tomorrow .
We did a good deed today and re-homed a lonely chicken with one of our friends that had a lonely chicken . Some people on our allotments have been basically told to " clear off " as they had not been keeping their plot up to standards . They had in the past , had a flock of hens but they have dwindled down to just one . We found a letter pinned on our hutch a couple of days ago asking if we wanted the lone hen ? We certainly couldn't have put it in with ours as they would have set on it . But friends of ours down the road have a lone hen in a very big coup , they agreed to give her a home , so we are happy to have helped .I just hope they will get along with each other .

I am in London Berona so don't have much time to be on line.
Esme is lovely, but like all new babies she is very hard work. I am enjoying all the cuddles, not to mention all the playing with Eve

What's happened here? Nobody talking? We are celebrating the end of winter with a beautiful day. Tomorrow is the official last day of winter, but the forecast is for 23c.. To-day's temp is 28!
I rang the medical centre which is just up the road and the lass is sending me a brochure about it. Just have my blood tests and prescriptions to sort out and if I decide to use this centre, will then need to get the current doctor to pass over my records.

Oh well it is working again
I said that you might as well go for the nearest doctor, so that if you are feeling ill you won't have to trail half way across town. Also the nurses etc are more likely to come out to see you if you are nearby

Hello to everyone. Hope you are either having a good day, or sleeping well.
Still having our crazy winter here with only two days to go. Forecast for to-day was 23, but clouds are keeping that down. Tomorrow is supposed to be 29! That's a summer temp!
I'm still checking on doctors. There is a medical centre at the top of my street. Too far for me to walk, but quite close and I believe they have a lady dr whose surname is the same as my birthname. Well, she isn't in my tree - but who knows? perhapsI should contact her anyway - might kill two birds with the one stone here! LOL.
