Hello Huia,
Congratulations to you and the proud parents of baby Riley. Hope he will be a happy healthy little boy. Also congratulations on doing so well with your photo's. I did get into photography at one time, and always favoured mono - black and white. Never things that normal people take. I liked unusual subjects like tree bark, stone walls, barns and farm buildings etc.
Hello Jemima - you are kept busy doing the school run every day, but it's nice to see all the grandchildren regularly. We never lived near our grand daughter so missed much of her life, which is a pity. It was very dull here today as well. The sun appeared just before it was setting - there was a feel of Autumn in the air too.

Well done Huia with the photos
Diane, you should know better than head butting things at your age :-| Seriously, I hope you are OK.
I used to hate the first day at big school, but that was probably because I was a teacher and it signalled the end of my holidays :-(
I felt horrible this morning and ended up going to sleep on the sofa for two hours at lunch time. I felt much better afterwards and have done cinema duty tonight.
I prefer green grapes Tec, seedless ones please - and no, I do not have false teeth

Hello Diane,
Good to see you here, was wondering where you were.
Whatever happened on the way to the shops sounds very nasty - the lengths some people will go to save on bus fare :-D but a ride in an ambulance is a bit too far. Anyway I hope whatever happened you are feeling better now. Glad to hear that your Father's estate has been finalised at last. Good thing to get that all behind you after all this time. The ulcer is still driving me insane, but we plod on regardless. I think it's going to be a long job this time - oh well. I am very pleased with the decorating so far, but wish I could get on with it a bit quicker - take care of yourself.
Linda - You do sound quite poorly with that nasty bug. Hope you didn't go hanging about at the cinema tonight, better to stay at home looking after yourself. I would bring you grapes if I were nearer :-D You take care of yourself as well.

Hi Everyone :-) :-)
CONGRATULATIONS HUIA GREAT GRAN! :-) :-) Lots of love to baby RILEY<3
Sue- Glad your are getting some me time, although your volunteer work seems hard going at the mo!
Linda- Sorry that you are so unwell. Hope you will be better soon.
Tec- Poor you and that ulcer. What a lovely outlook you have re seasons. Yes, we should look for all the positives in life!
Diane- Poor you too! Hope your head is better soon.
The weather wasn't so nice in my neck of the woods. Quite cold this morning at 8.10 on the school run. It was cloudy and dark until about 2ish when the sun came out a bit.
My lovely little 11 year old Granddaughter 2 started big school today Neither Granddaughters 1 or 2 came in the car with me today though. Granddaughter 2 went with her two friends in one of the mothers' car, so that they could all go in together on their first day. Granddaughter 1 went very early to meet her friend. She is in the dog house with her Mum after losing her contract phone in town yesterday The Police brought her home. I will probably have all three to take tomorrow.
Granddaughter 2 came over this afternoon to have her first day photograph taken (I have done this with all of them including their mother on their first days) and to tell me all about her first day She really enjoyed it. Grandson 1 looked very grown up in his year 10 uniform- so tall and broad. He will need to start shaving soon!
Hi also~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ to Berona, Carole, Amanda, Persie, and Sylvia. I hope I haven't left anyone out. Love Jem <3

Hello everyone :-)
thought I should pop in and let you know I am still around, I have been reading all the post and keeping up even if I haven't posted.
Linda sorry to see you have returned home with a bug again and hope it soon leave's you as you don't want to be ill when you go on your holiday. BTW has your sister heard yet when she and you will be making that special trip for her award. I'm glad to hear Esme is doing well and I hope your daughter is doing ok after her op.
Sue I hope you manage to sort out any problem's that arise concerning volunteer duty's and if not it will be down to the lack of help from the secretary. I bet you are looking forward to all the family being together in October, I stayed friend's with my ex and my in-laws when we got divorced, I also got on well with my ex's 2nd and 3rd wive's. Now that the children are grown up I only see them if there is a family accasion like, wedding, funeral and birthday party's, the last time I saw all of my ex's family was his mother's funeral 6yrs ago and he told our daughter that I was welcome to go.
Tec sorry to hear you are still having so much pain with your leg because of the ulcer, I hope it improve's soon, I bet you are glad that the ceiling has now been painted and that you daughter and SIL will be back soon to help with the wall's, I hope you are not over doing the glossing and resting your leg as much as you can.
Jem, glad to hear your grandson is doing well, I don't envy you the physio as I went through a similar regime last year and the year before though I was never told to shower before the exercises. I never managed to do it 3 time's a day as I was working full time 7dys a week, usually managed it twice most day's.
Huia congratulation's on the birth of your 2nd gt grandson Riley. Have your picture's been in competition yet and if so did you get any awards this time.
Amanda, I hope the hen you helped find a home for has settled in well with the other hen. Good luck with your ATOS assessment when you have it, my new appointment ( after my last one was cancelled after waiting to be seen for an hour ) is tomorrow and if they cancell it again I will not be happy.
Last Thursday I had a fun day ( not ) my one outing I have to do to shop's didn't happen, I won't bore you with all the detail's of what happened but instead of getting a bus to the shop's I ended up in an Ambulance going to A+E instead, was there for 5hour's and came home with a big egg on my head which is now a lovely shade of greeny/ yellow colour as are both my knee's :-(
Good new's though about my dad's estate is finally done and dusted, it has taken 18mths to finally get it sorted and I'm glad to see the end of it all.

Welcome to the world Riley, I hope you have a long and happy life.
Poor Tec, I do hope your ulcer starts to settle down soon.
I feel like I have had my throat sand papered and I have a pounding headache. I am now worried about passing it on to my daughter. Having said that they had all just had something similar, but it seems a bit early for me to have to have caught from them. When I got back, there was a phone call from my brother saying he and his family were all ill with something smiler and we had spent time with them earlier in the week.
Who knows where these bugs come from, I just wish it would go away

Hello to anybody who is around. My 2nd gt grandson arrived yesterday morning. They have called him Riley. Granddaughter was going to have him by caesarean later this month, as the first one had to arrive that way and she suffered a hernia which was to be repaired this time, but young Riley had other ideas about his arrival.

Oh dear - the secretary hasn't made things easy for you in her absence :-0
well you can only do what you can, and if she hasn't left information for the committee then she can't complain about things on her return. Hope you don't get too bogged down with it though.
Well I'm off to bed now - see how long I stay there tonight.
Enjoy the sunshine and the garden Sue - don't overdo it either of you.
Hello Berona, and Persie in Wellington,
Goodnight, Tec :-)

We're very poetic this morning, Tec :-D I once read that we should 'embrace' the seasons and enjoy each one for it's good points.
I'm getting a little overwhelmed with volunteer duties at the moment. Our secretary is overseas and a number of things have been left for me to do. Unfortunately she doesn't like leaving too much information with other people on the committee and also doesn't want to give anyone standard letters to send out to new volunteers or thank you letters to people who give donations. This is making things rather difficult at the moment.

I like Spring for reasons already said,
Summer for the long daylight evenings, and hopefully sun filled days,
Autumn for everything going to sleep, smell of wood fires burning, mists over farmland, it's a mellow time of year.
Winter for crisp sunny days, long cosy evenings with the curtains shut, and a fire in the grate. Also the magic of a fresh snowfall :-D

I can't say it's been a long cold winter because it's been quite mild although chilly at night and early morning.
I also love Autumn because it usually means relief from the Summer heat. Everything in the garden settles down for Winter and the light is soft. By then we are usually tired of daylight saving. Spring means everything is starting to wake up. We have seen the new family of wrens in the garden and the lizards are coming out to sun themselves on the footpath.

Oh what a lovely thought - tidying up the garden, ready for Spring.
I like all the seasons, for different reasons, but Spring is special. New life, new hope, anticipation of things to come :-D
