Went to town today to get myself some exercisey clothes for physio. I was supposed to go this morning, but I rescheduled the appointment when I thought that I was going down with the throat thing that you had!

I managed to get two jogger type bottoms which were not too over the top for someone my age! Got to find some casual T-shirts to go with them now. And some suitable shoes.

Yes my finger is fine now unless I catch it, I still haven't had time to buy a new oven dish though

Oh you poor thing, Linda!:-( What about your finger? Has the cut healed now?

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Sep 2013 20:08

Goodness Jem, I am glad he is OK

I have a bad reaction to bites or nettle stings. It is swelling nicely even though I zapped it immediately with one of the electric zappers, then put lots of anti histamine cream on it

Hi Linda-
Poor you, again! :-( Have you put anything on it? My OH reckons that onion juice is good for that.

Hi Everyone :-)

I forgot to tell you guys yesterday about my Son-In-Laws lucky escape. He's made the front page in today's South Wales Evening Post!

He is a cockler/ musseller? / fisherman etc.
He and his mate were out fishing in their boat early hours of Wednesday morning when their boat sank, and they were stranded on a sandbank with incoming tide, in the pitch dark (no moon) with only a mobile phone. It saved their lives. The coastguard managed to track it to get to them.
My daughter phoned our house to say that her husband had phoned her from the sandbank to say what was happening and that they were waiting for the Coastguard. My OH sped over but thankfully my S.I.L had texted her to say that he could see the lights of the coastguard coming!
They said that without the fact they were wearing the proper clothing and my Son-in-Law's phone (their radios had sunk with the boat) they would have died!:-0 :-0

Not only that, but his Jeep was left in a position where it would have also been under the tide, if he hadn't been able to get back to it! The coastguard kindly took the men to rescue the Jeep.:-0 :-0

Tec- How did it go in the surgery today?

Huia how undignified that must have been for him and his family, my heart would have been in my mouth until he was safely down. I'm guessing it was a case of the body staying in the home and being prepared for burial not in a funeral parlour as that is how it was done years ago.

Goodnight Linda and Jem - sweet dreams <3 <3

Interesting story Huia - I must have a look on Google.

I will try and get here earlier tomorrow morning... trouble is I do a lot of umpty dumpty do things around the house first.

Airbrushing, filtering, arty farting about with pictures is the trend now Diane. Then there is morphing so you are never sure whether you are looking at the real thing or something that is doctored.

And my doctor wants to know all my symptoms and not one per appointment. How ridiculous.

Talk to you all later

Persie.. no doubt Berona will be on the late bus.

I had a distant relative who was 8ft tall (or thereabouts). He died in America in an apartment block and they had to lower the coffin out the window as it was too long to get down the spiral stairs. Or so I have heard. That was a long time ago. I must research it sometime. He was known as Giant George (Auger) if you want to google. I know there is some stuff on the internet about him. I googled a few years ago.

Goodnight Linda :-)

I've got to discipline myself to go to bed now too-now that the children are back in school! I got used to staying up late talking to you Aussies and waging word wars on the Quizzes! :-D

So Goodnight Everyone- Jem <3

Huia I don't agree with photo's being doctored for a competition, it shoulf be about the person's own credit of taking them, I would feel I was cheating if it wasn't my gift of taking a photo that gave me the credit of winning, just like sport you win because you are good not because you use something ( drugs ) to hance you ability to compete " just my oppinion "

My daughter and grand-daughter's tried the fish thing but couldn't cope with the nibbling ( they are all very ticklish on their feet ) :-D

Hi Persie- :-)
That's clever!
Also furniture these days are being made far too big for my house. My next door neighbour's son had his window taken out to get a new 3 piece suite in!
