The Duchess and I are obviously very similar - well we put up with you :-D

Apparently some people give off a chemical from their skins which attracts mossies

Trust you Linda - trust you :-D

Bye Huia - Enjoy your day

You've probably seen this Huia- I have C/P from google-

George Auger - The Cardiff Giant The tallest man Wales
www.thetallestman.com/georgeauger.htm?

George Auger - 7 feet 5 inches (226.1 cm)

George Auger was born on 27 December 1881 and died 30 November 1922. He was also known as The Cardiff Giant. For many years he played the role of the giant in 'Jack, the Giant Killer'. He was originally chosen for the role of Colosso in the Harold Lloyd movie 'Why worry?', but died before the filming started. John Aasen replaced him in this movie. It height was often claimed to 8 feet 4 inches, but he probably was not taller than 7 feet 5 inches.

I am just laughing at the thought of Tec sleeping with his foot on a poof :-D Still if the chap doesn't mind and it helps your leg :-D

Tecwyn Report 5 Sep 2013 22:05

Linda that wasp sting is bigger than it should be :-0 see what it's like in the morning in case you need to see the doctor.

I think fair skinned people seem to suffer more with bites. The Duchess comes up in blisters when bitten by knats or mozzies

No, I am not Welsh, Jem. I have just looked at a family tree which I was given. It says he was b.c.1886 in Wales (she has added above b Cardiff 1882), when his policeman father was posted there. His grandfather and my ancestors were b in Twickenham.

Wasp stings can be very nasty - I can't remember if it's bees or wasps that leave their sting in you - I think it's bees actually.

There was a Welsh chef on a ship I was on, he was 7ft tall. A giant of a man, and quite bad tempered - nobody argued with him :-D.

Jemima - Sleeping is difficult as when my leg gets warm it gets more painful. I have tried sleeping with my foot on the floor beside the bed - not easy :-D.
It is easier to sleep on the sofa with my foot on a poufe, poofee, poof? whatever, anyway one of them :-D

That is the link to the clicker thing, it does work on mossie bites but this sting is now a red lumpy circle a couple of cms across

Hi Huia :-)
I just googled George Auger! What a big man! He was Welsh -from Cardiff. Are your ancestors Welsh Huia?

Poor Tec my little bite is insignificant in comparison.

Hang on, no it isn't it flipping hurts

What is the electric zapper, Linda? I have never heard of using anything like that on a sting. Can you buy the antihistamine tablets? When I had a wasp sting and it was very swollen and hot I put ointment on it, but it didn't do any good. The chemist told me I needed to take the tablets. They worked.

Poor you :-(
I don't know how you manage to keep that sense of humour of yours. Are you managing to sleep at all Tec?

Hello Jemima,

Thank you for asking. The ulcer is quite bad now. White knuckle chewing time :-D,
The nurse has asked the doctor for anti-biotics to kill any infection, so I may get them tomorrow. Meanwhile I'm stuffing strong pain killers down my throat like smarties :-D

JemimaFawr

JemimaFawr Report 5 Sep 2013 21:29

Hi Tec- How's your ulcer now and how did it go with the nurses today?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 5 Sep 2013 21:28

Hello :-)

Sorry you were stung Linda. I haven't seen any wasps this year, only bees. Funny year, no ants, greenfly, or lady birds either.

Jemima I shall expect to see you jogging past my house in your new trainers. I've never had trainers either, or sandals. Just casual shoes, and proper shoes.
Glad that you SIL was rescued off the sandbank. Thank goodness for mobile phones.

I have walking shoes as well as walking boots, but like you no trainers

JemimaFawr

JemimaFawr Report 5 Sep 2013 20:31

I have heavy duty trainers for walking, as we walk a lot- myself, OH and Grandson 1. But not lightweight ones for exercising

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Sep 2013 20:23

I must admit, I don't have any trainer type shoes
