It's very moving when everyone sings Rule Britannia. I think the only programs we get live here is the football. We did get the Opening Ceremony for the Olympics too.

I don't know Linda - maybe you're right. I'm sure I saw here referred to in Radio Times as a conductor.

I didn't know it was shown on Aussie tv Sue - that's good.

The crowd in Hyde Park seems to get bigger each year.

I'm watching the Poms as well Linda,

Good Morning Sue,

That is sad about the theft from the Memorial Gardens, but thankfully everything is recovered, undamaged I hope.
It goes on here too sadly. They have taken to removing bronze plaques off War Memorials with names of those fallen in two world wars. Even bronze statues have been ripped off plinths in parks etc.
It seems these people have no scruples.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 7 Sep 2013 21:53

That is so awful Sue, I am glad that the council were able to retrieve them and are replacing them. There have been lots of war memorials etc taken here for the scrap value

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 7 Sep 2013 21:50

I will try my best :-D

I am watching the last Night of the Proms

Hello from a grey and cool little part of Aus. :-D Looks like rain which is a shame today because our SIL decided to set up a stall at the local markets and get rid of some old stock.

We have a new Prime Minister who will be no better than the old one :-(

We had a sad day yesterday. It was reported in the news that a large number of plaques and vases had been stolen from the Memorial Gardens where my mother and father in law and father's ashes are. We went down to have a look and sure enough my father in law's vase had been ripped off. The council have been working overtime to replace them all as the offenders have been caught and they have recovered all the plaques and vases. The idiots went to a local scrap dealer. Everyone thought they would be teenagers but they are a couple in their 40's :-(

Hopefully the antibiotics will start working on that nasty bite, Linda.

A day of doing nothing sounds good, Tec. I would like to have seen your SIL too - what a laugh although I'm sure he didn't find it funny :-D

Welcome Dianne - I hope you pop in often to see us.

Berona - hope you are keeping well.

Sylvia - hope those huge antibiotics have done the job.

Must be catching, I've been lazy all day today.

Coffee's made...........

I hope that you are going to entertain us while you're away with your mis spellings - it's such fun trying to decipher, and there can be some real howlers :-D
