Hi Sylvia - hope you are ok.

It's been quite cool and overcast today after a run of lovely warm sunny weather. I hoped we would get some rain but it just stayed miserable all day.

it was very cloudy this morning, but then the sun came out and it warmed right up. It became very muggy, and almost unpleasantly warm .............. I've been sitting with the fan blowing on me for most of the day since then!

I gather temperatures are going to be in the mid-20s for most of next week,

Could you ask him to repeat it please, and get your daughter to video it, and put it onto Youtube????? That way we could all see it :-D


Hi Dianne .................. I'm the Canadian connection! I do have a number of rellies in Australia, and many friends. I also have a friend who is travelling constantly around the country ........ and his wife is also called Dianne!

It was crazy when they were in Australia. I don't know much about them but they look cute and fairly wholesome. I've heard a couple of their songs on the radio and they don't sound too bad.

I remember when the Beatles came to Australia. I just couldn't understand why my parents wouldn't allow me to go up to Sydney by train and watch them arrive at the airport. I was 10 :-D

It would be One Direction these days Sue. They are attracting manic crowds much as the Beatles did in the 60s.

The last time we were in Hyde Park there was a pop concert on. There were lots of very excited young girls lining up with their mothers. I don't know who was on but obviously they were very popular. Probably one of the boy bands.

They just had a good firework display in Hyde Park.

We get a lot of the British shows on pay TV. Usually on UKTV or BBC Knowledge.

This year the Proms are being presented by my other tv sweetheart Katie Derham,

who is nearly as lovely as Katherine Jenkins :-D

Vivian Westwood can bit a bit over the top to put it mildly but I would imagine it would have to be tasteful for the Proms.

I don't think we put "ess" at the end of words anymore. Actors can mean both male and female. All to do with PC I would think.
