Diane I think all Landlords are obliged by law to have all rented properties with gas checked out and serviced annually.
The contract I have with British Gas in quite good as it covers all my electrics, wiring etc, and all the central heating system, and all my drains.

Just bringing thread back to the surface.

Poured with rain here today, and most of the snow has now gone, although it is still very cold.
Having a very lazy day, nursing my cold, and watched a rubbish film on tv in between throwing logs on the fire. Decadence?

Tec...........4pm.......Time for afternoon tea!

Berona Report 4 Dec 2010 21:41

Hello Tec and Sandie.
Tec - don't let the weather beat you. I've heard from others over there and it seems to have an effect on everybody in some way or another. Annual dinners either cancelled or the venue changed, which means that some people can't attend, etc. People who walk/bus it to everywhere, afraid to go out in fear of slipping on ice.

Here, we are having very unusual weather for December. In the past, we might get one thunderstorm with hail in early December, then dry and hot until March - but in Sydney, each day the forecast is for "possible thunderstorms" and in other parts of NSW, in the central tablelands, people are being evacuated because of floods.
Where I am in western Sydney, we hear the thunder, but only seem to get the odd shower, although it's happening almost daily and it is all forecast to continue until after Christmas. Now, that is extremely unusual!
I would certainly prefer our weather to yours right now - but I would like it to be a little more normal!

Sandie - a shovel is a shovel! What makes yours magic?

Hello everyone - hope you are all well.

Overcast and miserable here but it hasn't rained overnight so may stay dry today. Son has an hour's drive to work today so hoping the rain stays away. You always worry when family are on the roads in bad weather.

Good evening / morning thread and people on it .

I've been busy for the past few days so haven't been adding but I have peeped in on occasion .

I made someones day yesterday . I found the Grandson of my Grandfathers best friend ( via Ancestry ) and have been busy scanning and sending photos to him of his Grandparents wedding , all pictures that he had never seen before , he said his family had not kept any they had in the past . He was over the moon , to say the least . I'm over the moon as well because I love that feeling of making someones day ....lol

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 4 Dec 2010 22:36

No definately not lol. Not much happening here but I'm doing the washing too. There's a glimmer of sunlight so I'll get a few bits on the line for however long.

Just a lazy day today I think. I must go and finish up the Christmas shopping before I start thinking about food.
