Berona, why would having a life threatening illness make you wait so long for an appointment at the dental surgery?

Diane

Berona

Berona Report 17 Nov 2010 22:33

Linda - that's quite a challenge. Do you have the resources amongst you to do all that you will need to do?

If you need help from the Council - don't accept any negativity from them. Go to someone else. Whose ultimate responsibility will it be? Of course, if it goes too well, the Council will claim that - and what happens if they decide that they want to make a profit out of it.

Hello all. I finally got back. Been a bit busy writing letters by email. I've been lazy about that recently but I plead pressure of work and seem to get away with it.

Still haven't fed birds but they still have quite a bit of food. When I make their wet food it needs to sit for a little while to thicken so that I can then add to it, either more dry food or water. Otherwise it just goes solid in the bowls in the cages.

Today is nice even though a bit cloudy. Sun will probably come out about lunch time and it'll get a bit warmer but that's OK.

Pam. :)

Berona, I'm really happy for you that you got in sooner. And Diane, you must be feeling really happy about your outcome. All the best with it and I hope they will do something to stop your pain. Pain is such a debilitating thing.

You know, I have this small theory about depression, which probably isn't new. But I haven't heard about it elsewhere. I think depression is the result of emotional pain. I do know that physical pain can bring about depression but I believe that the one brought on by the emotional is much harder to deal with.

Good evening Linda , Diane and Tec ......good morning Sue and Berona .

Diane , I'm really pleased to hear that your appointment has been bought forwards . I hope that you soon get a resolve to your pain .

Linda , goodness me , it sounds as if you are taking a lot on , I admire your dedication . I hope it all works out well .

Tec .... I've been busy in my tree , I'm sure the folks from the past all decide to make their presents felt at the same time....... bit like buses ....lol

Sue and Berona , I hope you both have good weather today : ))

Berona, it is amazing what help is out there when you start looking. Once the council sign it off, they will have no claim on it. What happens after three years when they decide they want full market rent, I don't know. If the worst came to the worst, it would just close down, but we need to get it up and running first. there is a big tradition of volunteering in this town. we run a full scale commercial cinema for instance, so it is possible to do things

Best new's I could have got opening the letter today Tec.

Linda, I know you told me to contact the consultant's secretary which is what I did first, but when I spoke to her she informed me she had nothing to do with the appointment's and I would have to ring the appointment's dept and see if there were any cancellation's as that would be the only way I could get an earlier appointment. It was a lady in that dept that has done the good deed and changed it for an earlier one.
You have a lot of hard work ahead to get eveything up and running, will you be working at the tourist office for no wages or will the grant pay a wage for some of you.

Good morning to you Pam .... you came in whilst I was typing . I hope you have a bright day as well : ))
I'm sure your theory about depression and emotional pain is sound . If there is some physical cause it can usually be dealt with but emotional pain is invisible isn't it : (

Hello Amanda. Someone gave me some good info for my tree, I am dying to go through it, but I haven't had time.

Bah, I got two numbers on the lottery tonight, so not even a tenner.

Hello Pam, I am glad you are going to be warm at least. Tomorrow is the day when OH goes walking with the Ramblers and it is forecast for heavy rain all day.

Diane, I work in the tourist office two afternoons a week, but I don't get paid. There is a full time paid manager at the moment, plus in the summer some of the volunteers become casual staff and are paid. That way there are two paid staff working every day, plus one or two volunteers as well. I have been offered paid work lots of times, but prefer not to be tied down. once we set up on our own, no one will be paid

Hello Pam, and Amanda,

Pam there is much evidence to back up your theory of emotional/physical pain. The two are often interlinked. Physical pain can usually be relieved one way or another. Emotional pain is a whole different ball game, and much more difficult to remedy. Often the cause cannot be removed, except by time.

Amanda - My descendents came through in bus loads once they discovered I wasn't going away - but they were very shy to start with. Some are still hiding, but I'll find them in the end.

Tec.

Diane

Diane Report 17 Nov 2010 22:54

Pam I agree with what you say about depression and have suffered the emotional one many time's in the past, mainly to do with family thing's as a child and as an adult after my divorce. The thing about emotional pain is it can return any time in your life were as physical pain depression last while you are in the pain and once the pain has gone the depression will usually go with it.

Pamela

Pamela Report 17 Nov 2010 23:13

Yes, Diane, I agree with you. I find that when anyone dies, even if it's not a close person, it brings back the emotional pain of those gone before who were close to me. Over time it reduces but never goes away. I guess the only ones it doesn't seem to recall these days is my grandparents and my stepfather but they all went before I was 25. Most recent ones though even to my mother who passed in 1988, it's still there.

But then, I suppose this is the way it is for everyone and time does heal. Just wish it was quicker sometimes.

Well looks like all have departed for their various areas. So I might do the same. Just finished feeding birds and haven't had a shower yet. Now might be just a good time to do that.

Will pop in again later and see what's doing.

~~~~~~~to all.
Pam.
