Being a sort of glutton Rose I like mine all ways.......but favourites are French toast with soft white bread and eggs........or wholemeal seedy bread with a chukky egg (used to call them that when a kid) chopped up boiled egg with a bit of butter.......

......funny though the idea of eating anything other than a hens egg makes me queasy........dont know why.....

I was given half a doz duck eggs last year and no - one in my house would eat them, now why was that?

I tried my first duck egg a couple of months ago and was slightly diasappointed taste-wise. I was expecting something startling but it tasted more or less like a chickens egg. However, there was much more yolk for dipping which has got to be a bonus ;-)))))

Yes Rose, so do I.......felt a bit embarrassed about putting it on the board.......but did wonder if it was a common term.......OH knows it......

.......and maybe its the different sizes of eggs that makes the difference hoobity.........if I see a quail's egg, or an ostrich egg......it seems odd to eat them......dont know the reason.....

In America the eggs were all white and I mean really anaemic white and it put me off, I like mine brown and healthy looking.......although there is not any difference......just what you get used to I suppose....

we used to have chickens when I was a child living in the Isle of Man, mostly ex battery hens rescued from the local market...old and supposedl;y past laying ..but they laid well ,often double yolks , brown eggs from the Rhode Island Reds :))

Rose...my Mum used to keep chickens too. My sister was terrified of them cos she once went in to get the eggs in her flip-flops and they started pecking her toes lol

lol Jeanette, that brought back memories, I was always in sandals so threw the food from a safe distance :) I loved collecting the eggs...hunting all round the old barns and under hedges .

It's not often that I have fried egg, but absolutely loathe a 'leather bottom', as when OH cooks it.
I make a point of slicing the egg off the base and leaving the offending bit.
