There are a lot of cats around here - and most of them are spayed/neutered - probably why he chose Betty - she wouldn't be in season - but was small enough to overpower!
Betty is 2 years old - god help any female kitten with this furball of testosterone prowling about.
Not sure if this is a stray - may get the PDSA to trap him.
Apart from making Betty even more nervous than she is already - the greatest fear is feline AIDS.

I've tried water - and even a stray football that was in the garden - he's not deterred. He did jump quite high when I crept up behind him and roared at him - but still he came back!

bless the poor wee thing plenty of cuddles needed i had the same problem a while back with my alice she is a rescue cat and she is not very big this tom cat kept coming round she was petrified of it she wouldnt go out unles you were with her even for a pee i tried all of chucking things not at it wouldnt hurt a creature but nothing seemed to work then one day had enough chucked a cup of cold water on it and it ran like the blazes you see it now and again but just have to shout and it runs

We have the same problem here with my three cats.

Got one boy and two girls.......all neutered.......

The girls are mother and daughter..........they HATE each other lol. Boy is a rescue who has never been quite *right*.......not the full ticket.

BIG Tom often comes strutting into my front garden and scares the bejesus out of my boy and the Mum cat..........

Until daughter comes to the rescue.........feisty moo she is and won't tolerate any of it........even though she loathes her mother she won't allow any nonsense on *her* patch lol.

I feel really sorry for your poor little girl....bless her....I'd have the same problem here but for stroppy drawers........water pistol idea sounds reasonable enough to me under the circumstances.

Maggie, it annoys me so much that people still don't neuter their cats. Yes, it CAN be expensive in paying for the op., whatever the cost, but then - that's part of owning a cat in the first place.

There's no excuse whatsoever these days, as animal welfare places in England have made it so easy (and inexpensive) to have pets neutered.

If anybody protests about the cost, what are they doing with a pet in the first place?

Besides, it's unfair on the animal concerned.

*gets knickers un-twisted, lol*

BTW - We have 5 cats, all neutered, 3 of them male.

I am sorry, how horrid, so feeling for you and your little cat. Just can't imagine how I would feel if I found mine as you have yours, she should be able to play happily chasing leaves and more.

They should all be able to play happily, venture outside, I am sorry, truly I am.

Just right for a cat to chase leaves in their own garden - which is what Betty was doing!!

but i feel so sad for your little cat, poor thing,

people do seem selfish dont they, its kinda let um out and leave um too it,

poor thing hope shes not injured in anyway,
wrap her up and give her cuddles,
the weathers n ot even nice for her anyway is it, so shes better off in doors,

I've got 3 cats - products of a rescue cat we were assured was spayed!!
Mother cat started getting aggresive towards the kits - obviously wanted to be alone LOL(and peeing under my duvet) so we got her neutered and gave her back to rescue place. Mother was rehomed within the week.
So, I have 3 cats - 2 boys and one half-size girl - all neutered/spayed.

I have been upstairs (okay not doing H* work - playing games), it's windy and I can't hear what's going on outside. My cats have been harrassed for the past 3 months by a ginger tom - the girl has been so frightened by him lurking outside the cat flap that she's peed on the floor!
Went downstairs, opened the back door to see this cat running off - and my poor little girl hiding in a shrub. I looked down at the path to see huge lumps of her fur all over the place - and poo!!
Got her in - she's filthy and has the tell-tale signs - amongst others- of bite marks & wet fur on her shoulders. - the b*st*rd has to all intents & purposes raped her!
As I said before - she's a small cat - half the size of her 'normal' sized brothers - and is now a nervous wreck. I've had to lock the cat flap, and I suppose I'll now have to get the litter tray in - but her brother's won't like it.
Why should my cats be imprisoned because of some selfish cat owner?

Not on your life, our little boy was a stray, which we took in at 12 weeks, and kept in until he was old enough to be neutured.

Who with any sense wants the smell and the roaming of a tom cat.

Also she cats, best to have them spayed otherwise you get the catawauling when they are on heat, and the unexepected kittens.
