Just re reading this thread and see that Dorcas is based on the Postmistress at Fringford, I have been there as my aunt before she and her husband retired, living in a cottage on a farm just a few miles from there, at a place called Newton Morrell. It was just the farm and it's two cottages on the road from Buckingham to Bicester and along from Newton Purcell. A wonderful place that I spent time at a couple off times when I was young. My uncle worked on the farm for 'The Missus' and my aunt helped her in the house. |

I ended up early hours this morning looking at property for sale in the area, especially my Dad's home village where it is mainly very expensive, sadly lots of new build going on so the smallish village is spreading and getting closer to the edge of Buckingham, will spoil it a bit I think. There were some properties being sold at Lark Rise, lol, cashing in on the book etc I suppose. |

Liz, it must be all the more enjoyable when you know the history and area.... I always love it when areas we have visited are on the tele, just so I can say I remember that or I have walked down that street ...... |

I was looking for the link to the site as I wanted to make a copy of the dates, knowing my great grandfather would have probably known the father and worked with him, being a stonemason too, but someone seems to have deleted all the info, why? |

Liz I cant understand why there are so many deletions, they weren't there before, perhaps someone can pm you with the details... spoils the thread though.... |

Hi Jean, I don't understand why everything has been deleted either, all presumably by one poster but it doesn't make sense. |

Arctic blonde, my husband noticed the vapour trail. Well. I did too, but decided to ignore it.... He is really good (or bad) at noticing continuity errors, too, although he has enjoyed this series. |
