You are not the only one with awkward dogs

10yr old Molly Dog (Anglo/American x Cocker Spaniel) looks like a cuddly black teddy bear.
She goes to work with oh in the woods; he has never put her on a lead because she never roams off. When in our woodyard she loves everyone & everyone thinks she is ‘so lovely’!!!
Molly is lovely all the time she is allowed to do what Molly wants ... try moving her from the nice warm driver’s seat of the van or getting near her if she has food & a very different dog emerges, snapping & snarling. In the evenings if you touch her or even accidentally brush up against her when she is sleeping she ‘swears’ nastily!
The truth is, that she is actually one of the most dangerous kind of dogs you can own... inconsistent.
It is because of her instability that she came to live with us. My OH & I both grew up in the country with working dogs, most much bigger & stronger than her & though she does try to be the pack leader she does not get far in this house.

It's nice to hear that they are cuddled up together.......it obviously isn't pure hatred than .
Try the loud noise next time they spark off perhaps ?

Can you leave them home together ? If they don't scrap when you are out and about maybe it's an attention seeking thing ?

While they are quiet I will get some sleep anyone want a 6.30 alarm call lol

used to be toys and food so we removed them and only gave at times after saying all this they are curled around each other asleep ( very unusual )

Amanda I know as said pup who I found at 2mths is now 3yrs and dominant Mini I rescued at 2yr/3yr wants to be and she brought the pup up ........

Is it things like toys and food that spark them off Uzzi or does it just happen for no apparent reason ?

mmmm I live with a pan of water to seperate them but they are so loving as Rod said

Two of ours are bitches but they are Mother and Daughter , Bandit knows

when to back off .
It does sound as if you two are going through a domination thing .

Amanda they are both bitches 1 at 6 now pup is 3 and when they fight it is deathly you pull them apart at risk

edit to say Elder brought pup up reluctantly both have had to fight for their lives on the streets in the past

and having said that i have had my ears washed many times with no problems lol

Have you tried a loud and startling noise to separate them ? Maybe two saucepan lids crashed together ?

Are they trying to work out which one of them is " top dog " ?

no Amanda when they start they mean it ,and you take a chance trying to separate them

How old are they Uzzi ? Are they a bitch and a dog ? Fighting or playing

that turns to snappy ?..........when my Lurchers play it can sound vicious

sometimes but they have never hurt each other .

Rod has seen the fights I get from them nowt wrong then wham all hell let loose

Dont get me wrong BOTH know how to behave just refuse to . the pup will be nice and play with others or have a go at them as she feels

Amanda I have put them with other dogs ......they are nice for awhile !!! I will say that they tend to fight each other

Have they ever really mixed with other dogs Uzzi ? Is it a barking like mad when they are on their leads thing ?

both mine are terrier x and as luvvy as u can ask for but soooooo anti social with other dogs

yes Uzzi i do and for no reason they start like at Calasparra not sure what the answer is
