Had to go and look up the meaning of 'merkin'. Was astonished that it was not in my Oxford English Dictionary, so Googled it..............

Well, and well again! The things you learn on GR.........Have made a mental note, just in case I get merkin fitter ancestor but to be honest, I think the chances are fairly remote.

I'm a Cartographer too.............. Funny that because I'm a lousy map-reader. I'm one of those people that has to turn a map round to face the way I'm going - and that's only when someone else has kindly showed me where we actually are on the map................ :(
