I would have had to say something................it's unfair on her daughter who is open to teasing when her friends hear something at home when other mums mention it to someone.

Children hear just about everything! :))

Oh she doesn't just lie about her kids......it's everything...........every week there was a new story that contradicted the last........whether it was about her new slab driveway or a row she had with one of the teachers.......

The stories changed so often it used to make my head explode. lol.

Hello, Angie:) I agree with you - as I get older I get less tolerant and more inclined to speak up. It depends how comfortable you are about confrontation and especially if the person isn't unpleasant or nasty. If she's a nice woman just laying on the BS then you may come out looking like the nasty one.

That is a very honest reply Muffy .......... thank you.

The simple fact is that, for everyone's sake, this woman cannot be allowed to continue in her dream world.

However I would suggest that your temptation to ask her why she is lying may be a little too blunt for all concerned. LOL

Maybe a few poignant questions will do the trick !

And by the way ............................ if you have found a beach in the UK where I can get out my deck chair and knotted handkerchief in the middle of February please PM me soonest

LOL

I took my Zeus man to the beach on Monday Muffy, it was flamin freezing I can tell ya, but we often go there cos it's quite this time of year (understandably) and he gets to have a good run about. The sea air zonked me out...

Dormouse

Dormouse Report 21 Feb 2009 21:27

I knew a compulsive liar once - she used to come out with the most outrageous lines - and we all knew they were whoppers! At first we put it down to low self-esteem and encouraged her to join in more, thinking that would help. But no, it just seemed to spur her on to even greater things, fib-wise! She did truly appear to believe her tall stories, so I can only assume she lived in a fantasy world, believing she would make more friends if she sounded more interesting. Very sad.

It was a lovely day today......there was actually a fair bit of heat from the sun today for a while........though by about 4 it was getting a bit chilly.

Dormouse..........Yep.......I think you're right........she imagines it makes her more popular........which is why I was tempted to put her straight. for her own good......but.....hesitated to do so xx
