The next knock on the door might be the doctor - armed with bread pudding - come for his chair!

A word of warning ...... don't let your Dad ask him to take a seat as you might find the sofa disappearing into a van!!

Great story - one for the book!

After the story I retold of Dad and the compensation n piece of string here's anuva gem that had me pmsl

I went to visit Dad today my Dad has classic Autism like my son and lives his life by rules and regulations its imperitive he lives by a timetable ~I was due to arrive by 1pm but traffic was bad so I sent a text knowing full well theres no such thing as bad traffic in Dad's world if you say 1pm you MUST be there at 1pm on the dot ~ anyway I said I'd get there by 10 past ~ okay. well I finally got to Dad's house at 9 minutes past and waited the extra mintue knowing full well he would not open the door until 10 past on the dot. I waited till it was 10 past by my watch and knocked ~ big mistake it was 1:10:22 he showed me ~ oh my goodness am I in trouble ~ anyway I set about the task in hand putting a computer together for my step-Mum, Dad sat watching my everymove in case I erm moved anything in the room ~ at last the pc was rebuilt ........ and there was a lead left over! Dad very kindly {before I had time to discover where the lead was to go} took the lead away to find some random use for it ~ which he did ~ it fit nicely into his coin sorter and since the coin sorter had been a pressie from my daughter 4 years ago it was blantely obvious to all {erm NO!} that the lead fit into the coin sorter ~ my step-Mum and I decided to let him have it as we were both too dippy to know where it went anyway it kinda removed the problem n the pc works except for sound but it hasnt had any for months so no bother ~ once Dad had demonstrated it fitting the coin sorter three times he went and locked both items away in seperate cupboards and returned to his post on sentry duty. Then I said can I please have a chair one I had not seen before was quickley produced with a grin from Dad ~ I said nice chair and made the mistake of adding where did you get it from? ~ big mistake but it gives me a pearl to pass on. My step-Mum said Dad had been to see his specialist in the week and when Dad went in the surgury he'd been asked to take a chair ~ he chose the Doctors chair and promptly took it and put it in the boot of his car ~ the nurse and doctor were a bit perplexed and realised he had took them literally so fell about laffing and let him keep the chair. Anyway I just phoned my step-Mum as I suddenly realised the spare lead did not belong to the coin sorter as well suspected {not} it fits into the back of the speakers lol thats why no sound! She is at this very moment trying to persuade Dad to release the lead ~ she does have a secret weapon homemade bread pudding so here's hoping Dad is willing to trade!
