The Scottish screeening starts at age 50 , as with cervical screening there is a difference between Scotland and England. Scottish smears start at age 20 |

Ann - I've just looked out the paperwork that came with my test - it's called the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme and ours is run from the local University Hospital herein Nottingham. |

Ann, I am sure if you asked your doctor they would let you know how to get the kits or do a test for you. |

apparetly here in Wales they have sent to kits to all within the age range for home testing - I'm out of the age range so didn't get one, but would certainly take up the offer of a test |

I had a sort of kit thing to use which came to all over 60s I think, and mine came back clear, I think anyone who doesn't use the test kit is daft, so easy to get checked out, why risk anything worse? |

Don't think they are offering it here in North Wales but I had a colonoscopy instead.............. Dad died of bowel cancer in 1983 and Mum has been treated for rectal cancer over the last two years, (successfully I may add.... fingers crossed). Myself, two sisters and brother were all tested on the advice of doctors....all clear thank goodness. |
