Yes........I was an apprentice hairdresser and I NEEDED to go out.........but on my wages..........it would've meant going out once a fortnight not *coughs* every night.

Pull a pig was a godsend..........bless their geeky cotton socks ......the number I gave them to phone me on was my sisters work number ........ AND *whispers* I said I was called **** not Marie.*hangs head in shame*

I only admitted that I did that about 3 yrs ago she nearly clobbered me !!! LOLOLOL xx

My daughters not old enough for the tooth fairy yet, has only just got the six teeth she has in her head, but I will give her enough to cover a small toy and a choccie bar...£10 is too much in my opinion....but im a tightarse :)

The going rate for most of my children patients is £1. Some toothfairies give a fiver for the first tooth.

If we help the tooth on it's way, then we contact toothfairy (that's what we tell the children), and ask her to leave a little extra.

I bought a 'tooth holder' for my grand daughter, which take a £1 coin nicely.
My daughter (the mean mare) puts 20p and a message form the tooth fairy (once it was an IOU) into it!!!! LOL

My kids get £1 per tooth, whether it comes out of its own accord or needs a little help (Hertfordshire tooth fairies are obviously very tight). The only reason they get that much is because when my eldest's first tooth came out we didn't have any 50p's in the house - so we had to put a £1 under the pillow and therefore set a precedent. Folding money is excessive - it's supposed to be a bit of fun fer gossake!

I got 6d for mine - not too sure if I'd lost them all by the time decimalisation was introduced - may have got 5p for the last few. Even if it was 5p per tooth then, that's an inflation rate of 1900% in 38 years, which I think probably outstrips the economy (how much was a pint of milk in 1971?)

The only way my kids would've got a £20 note is if someone smacked them in the mouth with a baseball bat and knocked all 20 milk teeth out in one go!!

we used to get a pound a tooth.

which when i was five and knocked four of my teeth out in one go, meant a nice little bonus. :) lol

folding money is definately excessive, as Ed says it's supposed to be a bit of fun. :)
