Jan

My sister was born in St Ives and I know Hayle not much mind as I was only little
when we used to go and visit my aunt in St Ives.

But so much has changed over the years.

My Grandmothers name was Tregaskis a real Cornish name.

It was she that taught me how to make pasties !!

They came to Plymouth for work...

In Hayle, right down the bottom, not far from Penzance and St.Ives.

I haven't been to LOOE for years, a really pretty place if I remember

No different.

Skirt of meat,
Turnip Or Sweed as one calls it
Onion
Potato
Salt & pepper.
A good pastry using Plain flour and Trex or a good quality lard and a little Marg.

Simple but oh so good LOL

Funny how we always refer to cornish pasties, even in this house where we buy devon pasties when we are down there.

Mrs. Blue Eyes Report 28 Jan 2009 20:05

I bet if you googled it you could find a decent pasty maker on line who would send them in cold containers.

I know you can do that with clotted cream.

OOOhhhh I can hear the waistlines expanding as I type.. lol
