I'm so very glad to hear you talking so positively Lynn. You will need a lot of patience, but if you take it slowly then I know you will amaze yourself and everyone with your recovery. Keep it up!!

Hi Lynn,

Well how lovely, seeing you posting on here. I do hope you can hold on to the positivity to get you through this long healing process and that you can find strength in the continued love and support of all your friends and especially your family. Maybe you will need a little flag to put up if you get the grumps at home sometimes, as you are surely entitled to, and then everyone will know to avoid you for a while till you are your old self again.
Hope the check ups go well and you will have no further problems to cope with other than the usual mundane ones of day to day life.
I think you have taught everyone a big lesson. We must all take more care of ourselves and be more aware of our bodies, they struggle on to carry us about and we do tend to take everything for granted till a spanner gets stuck in the works, so you have done so much for all of us by being open and up front about the illness and may well have saved others from the pain and worry you have had and will have till you 'bounce back' to the old Lynn.
Wishing you all you wish yourself and more and hope the healing process is better than you expect,
love
Lizxx

How lovely to hear from you, and how positive you sound! That's the ticket - positivity all the way.

Take care, don't try to rush anything and continue to heal quickly.

..............................................................................................

Hello everyone, just wanted to let you all know how I'm doing, and to say a huge thank you for all your messages, and lovely cards, and all the kind words and support you have shown.

Well, as you know, I'm home, and all went well with the op, the staff on the ward were brilliant, and looked after me so well, bless them, and there were days when i wasnt the" lovely little Lynn " that I normally try to be, lol, pain and exhaustion can make the nicest of people grumps, me included, but they put up with me, and by the time I left, we had become very friendly, and I had shown them the bubbly side of Lynn's nature, and we had spent lots of time laughing, The nurses really were " Angels "

The op, was a huge one, one that shocked us all in a way, we were pre warned about everything but it still knocked the stuffing out of me, more than I thought, maybe im not such a tough old bird, as I like to make out i am !!!

But I got through it, and now im home trying to heal and get back to the old me, it's going to be a long job, the best part of the year, but what's a year, eh, nothing, compared to a life. And to be told I'm cancer free, well I'm sure you can imagine what that was like.

I have to see my consultant in about a month, and then go for another scan, just to make sure the little blighter hasn't in the last few months done a runner somewhere else, doubtful, but just a precaution.

So all is well, im exhausted both physically and emotionally, sore from the surgery and in a lot of pain in my legs from them meddling with the lymph glands, but over time it will get better.

My bowel, doesn't appear to have been damaged too much which to me is fab news, I'm a very lucky lady, this could have been so much worse, so ladies, please remember to check yourselves on a regular basis, get to know your body, This has probably been underlying with me for a couple of years, and if I'd been checking myself, i would have probably noticed changes way before the tumours came, so, see, it really is important.

Again thank you all for your kind wishes and positive thoughts, it really made a huge difference, Take care everyone, wrap up warm and be nice to each other, you never know whats around the corner !!!!

Lynn
