OK I googled DWP and it says.

Basic State Pension (per week from 9 April 2008)
Based on your own or your late husband’s, wife’s or civil partner’s NI contributions £90.70
Based on your husband’s NI contributions £54.35
Non-contributory Over 80 pension £54.35
Age Addition £ 0.25

The amounts of all benefits are reviewed each year with most benefits uprated in April. However, your State Pension is not uprated if you live in certain countries abroad.

I believe that the basis state pension, with a full contributions record, is £97.40 per week or thereabouts.

If you Google DWP it should all be on there.

Hi Shelly and Denise,

Thanks for your replies, I just wondered if there was a set amount a woman or man could get.

When I was working I paid what I call superanuation as well as state pension, now I am on the pension they lump them both together so I don't know how much I get for state pension or work pension.

Just wondered really as I thought everyone got the same rate Old Age pension even if you never worked because i know some people who haven't worked since they married and also get a pension.

Betty
p.s. I tried to google it but could only find old info on the pension it wasn't up to date.

Hello Betty, State pension is based on each indivdual working life.
How many years you have paid FULL national insurance.
My husband has worked far more years than I have, so his pension is more than mine.
As to part-time workers I can not say, except, if the wife has not worked at all she may have to wait for her husbands pension.
I do not know if there is a difference between England and Scotland, sorry.
State pension is far less than your last pay cheque, believe me!!
Was for me anyway.

Senior citizen, Denise

Can anyone tell me how much the old age pension is per week now, also is it the same for both male and females?

Also is it the same for both Scotland and England.
