Evening everyone, thank you for all your kind thoughts, I do appreciate your kindness.
Hope you have all had a good day, the weather has been quite good here, and been warm.
I enjoyed having my Grandaughter yesterday, she has reached the interesting stage now, and has discovered that she can make a lot of noise.
I remember most of the childrens tv programmes you have been talking about,
my daughter loved Andy Pandy, Muffin the Mule and The Wooden Tops.

Mo in Kent Report 9 Aug 2010 14:20

Well good afternoon everyone, especially Stephen. Many congratulations on your wedding anniversary. May we ask how many years you were celebrating.
We will be celebrating our 47th next February, my lord I could have committed two murders and be our by now. LOL He's a good old stick really, and I wouldn't be without him.
Oh by the way, before Marilyn says anything, I was a child bride.

Linda, no more BBQ's on the horizon, but hey anything could happen.
But we may be having one of our grandaughters to stay, when her parents go on holiday.
At the time of booking, she was living with her boyfriend, and decided she did not want to go.
But now she is back at home, and it's to late to get her booked in.
So our peace will be shattered for 10 to 14 days. Thats if she wants to come here. But she is not a child she is nearly 18 for goodness sake, and should be able to look after herself. I think my daughter is afraid she may get into mischief with her boyfriend when they are away. But the way I look at it, is they lived together, at his mums house, they are still together,
even though she is now back at home, and no matter what, if they are going to get into mischief they will do it anyway.

Pauline the Magic Roundabout, was screened when my children were little
so I had no choice, I had to watch it.
Mind you, I think the programmes they show for children now,are rubbish.
I used to like Bill and Ben the Flowerpot Men, and little Weeeeeeed.
I could never get to grips with the saying " Flobbalot weeed" never did find out what it meant. LOL

Rita , kippers and marmalade, thats nearly as bad as the Americans having peanut butter and jam together. I know it's only jelly jam, but the sound of it makes me feel sick. yuk.
Hows you feeling today. What are the 9 tablets you have got to take for.
Hows your son in law now.

Liz, I am surprised at you, not knowing how to tie a windsor knot. Tut Tut,
you slipped up there girlfriend. You could have pulled it a bit tight.. oops
must not say that, unless you have increased the insurance policy.

Rita

Rita Report 9 Aug 2010 10:49

Hi Pauline I did not try dunking doughnuts in coffee but they made me try the marmalade and I have to admit it was quiet nice. you dont use a lot only a little.
Marilyn you frighten him a way last time now your doing it again asking him about himself.. .
you have one man anyway why do you want another. i think I will email pete and tell him what your up too. ?
i use to put those shows on for the children to watch they loved those more sense that the rubbish they put on for the children today .I cannot beleive poeple let their children watch some of it. throwing things at the wall and acting like a fool.

dont forget tonight BBC 1 WDYTYA Monty Don is on.
Marilyn Spiders not a nice word for me. I hope they dont come to life.

Morning all.

My God, we didn't frighten him off!

Stephen, congratulations on your wedding anniversary. Slàinte mhòr agus a h-uile beannachd duibh.
Marilyn's right, we're very nosy, so next time you drop in - tell us a bit about yourself.

Marilyn, I'm not sure if we can claim him as ours yet............lol

Rita, I don't like the sound of marmalade on kippers, did you ever try it?

Hope it goes OK today Jean, we'll all be thinking of you. When you get back put your feet up and rest.

Oooh Linda, you'll be pampered today - I should think so as well. You worked really hard to make that wedding perfect. Sit back and enjoy it.

LOL at Liz, I know it's a horrible situation Liz but you really make me laugh, it's the way you tell it. I especially liked the line about winning the lottery...........lol

Elizabeth, you definitely got the mature bit wrong....lol

Shelly, the only names I know, out of those you mentioned, were Sooty and Sweep. I used to watch Andy Pandy, The Wooden Tops, The Flowerpot Men and Rag, Tag and Bobtail.

Mo, did you watch The Magic Roundabout? I've seen it but it wasn't on when I was a kid.

Yvonne, I can't remember how old you are, what did you watch when you were a kid?

Ahhhhh he's come back ...Our Steve !!

We don't mind you having a wife Stephen, all we want is a male chat ....she should come with you as well to keep you company.
Next time you have to tell us all about yourself ........because we are a nosy lot !! LOL

Liz is this a High Society Wedding ?.....because if it isn't , it is now .LOL
If he gets drunk nobody will notice him anyway .. other than being drunk !!
I bet you'll be glad when its all over, but don't get yourself to worked up about it Liz as you'll make yourself ill.

Rita I saw him first ...LOL

Got little one today, she's already got the craft box out its only 9-30 got all day yet !!

Linda I gave up THAT tree ,now I have replanted it to find new branches against my will of judgment. but not today too busy .
Going to help this little make what looks like a SPIDER....I can see 6 legs so far ....Ohhhhhhhhh.

Morning Linda and all the others including Stephen and "there was I waiting at the church waiting at the church he left me in the lurch"
anyway better late than never Stephen happy wedding anniversary to you and your good Lady.
I dont dumk my biscuits in my tea. terrible habit that is. Lol
I just thought of something when I first went to work in January 1944
I worked where they trained overseas forces as well as British ones. and in the canteen I recall the Americans dunking Doughnuts ibn their coffee. and also spreading kippers with Marmalade they said this made them taste better.
Just thought I would let you know.

I have had my breakfast (not Kippers)cornflakes. and had a nice shower. sorted my washing out so if anyone has spare time you can come and give me a hand with that, as IF. I am going to start taking the tablets now 9 to go.

see you later.

Hi,

Sorry I missed the Tea Party.....had a more pressing engagement. And anyway my dear lady would become so jealous of me being in your company.

The 'pressing engagement' was our wedding anniversary.

Age.....I don't believe in ageism....
I believe in Tir-nan-Og....
and that can found if you search hard enough. Try 'Google'

Happy Tea-times and Happy Biscuit Dunking

Might drop in again when I'm passing this way. You at least seem to have loads of fun.

Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 9 Aug 2010 04:37

Hi all

Sorry I haven't been posting much, am just a bit low at the mo (and a poet and don't know it lol) so p***ed off with this wedding and finding the apparel for o.h. etc etc Spent ages in Asda on Friday trying to find a suit to fit the short fat git and then on the phone to another store where the woman did her best to source matching jacket and trousers in the right size, and finally couldn't, so have to go back to the local Asda and get the jacket that fits but is a lighter shade than preferred, and the trousers in the wrong size but right colour (all on hold for the mo for us) and then trousers will have to be shortened to fit his short fat hairy legs - yes, they really are!!
His son brought the tie he wants him to wear, it's the palest mauve I have ever seen, looks as if it is faded from the sun but with slightly ever so slightly darker mauve flecks in, like a sort of slub material. O.h. has been told it's to be tied in a Windsor knot which of course he cannot tie, so will have to get my son to show him how before we go.

I went into the city on Sat pm for an hour and managed to get a pair of mules from that cheap shoe shop Shoe Xpress is it? they are white and silver but will do the job I hope, couldn't find anything else I liked that fitted or that I could walk in, so once I decide for sure I want to keep them, will try and find a suitable bag. I hunted everywhere for a shrug - how I wish I had bought a white one when I got the black one form Tesco's in May - and found a lilac part linen jacket in Bon Marche, reduced to £20 and goes perfectly with the dress so I think with that, or the black shrug, or the stole I am going to make from the scarf, I should have something to cover any kind of weather - well it is going to be August Bank Hol Satuday so who knows what kind of weather we will get.

O.h. has got to do some different shifts on the week before the wedding, a couple of nights but will get an extra day off so will have time to take car to be cleaned, and to sort his stuff out well in time for our Friday getaway to the hotel, I will take some magazines and a book and he can go off and see his sons or do whatever he wants while I have a lazy evening there ready for the frivolities the next day. At least by the end of August it will all be over, his son will be on his way back to NY, touch wood, and the family day for his father's 79th bday will be past too and he will be on late shift so will have my evenings to myself for Tues, Weds and Thursday. Wonderful, will be the first time for weeks and hopefully will be like that for some time to follow, altho I also have to sort out a holiday for us too

Should I win the lottery in the meantime, disregard all of the above, as I will be off like a shot lol

Take care of yourselves, my concentration levels are shot to bits, so can't respond individually to anyone, much as I care about you all.

Oh and guess what, on Sat when I got home from shopping and before I started cooking dinner, I found a very chilled can of strong cider, the sort o.h. drank secretly before he met me, he had hidden it in his coat pocket on the coatrack near the door, I obviously caught him on the hop lol

I hid it up and later caught him carrying a further can in a plastic carrier bag up the stairs, he swore it wasn't a can but I am very experienced in spotting his secret stashes, he wouldn't admit to it but at least it stopped him drinking one can and he hasn't found where I hid it yet. I had a feeling this secret drinking was starting up again - it's no good for his diabetes and other problems, but heyho, if he is leading up to a binge at the wedding so be it, let his family sort him out, it's not my problem. He watched Heartbeat where the woman poured her hubby's best brandy down the sink and he completely sided with the bloke, swore no one was going to dictate what he drinks - yeah right! Good thing he doesn't drive much to work now, can you be done for being drunk from the night before and in charge of a bike lol?

Oh life is fun!

I am seeing my counsellor today and then on to see my new doctor. Having my hair cut on Weds so if they cut too much off there is time for a little bit to grow and hope to try out a spray tan to see how my skin reacts, don't want to go looking all pasty and pale.

love
Lizxx
