I wish I could remember where I'd put my painted snail Shelly, I'd send him to you to race - it would pass your time away.

Well I've been hanging around the marina most of the day (seriously I have) but didn't see a yacht named Tir-nan-Og. Looks like Stephen's mystery tour sailed straight past our marina.
You were supposed to pick us up Stephen!!! There's poor Mo got soaked to the skin for nothing.
Rita, up here it was a really good day for sailing, we had beautiful sunshine all day, with quite strong winds. Luckily the wind wasn't cold, so we spent the day between the marina and the beach. Didn't see any boats called Flake...........sorry, it's not up here.
We've been really lucky with the weather, the only bad day we had was last Friday.
Marilyn, if you don't mind slugs - I'll send mine down to you. I used to send them to Shelly but she doesn't seem to want them any more. I've got one of the snails ready for the snail race if you're having one this year Shelly.
Linda and little M could paint them all different colours so we'd know which was which.
How are you today Jean?

I have been busy reading all your remarks on the thread some gave me a chuckles others I was lost for words. you must know why Stephen did not take his yacht ou there was no wind he need the wind to blow him along. not crude remarks please. Linda shame you miss out on today that is the trouble we always find the weather stops us from going somewhere when we have looked forward to it. I was thinking of Liz and wondering if the weather would be Ok for her. I did not see the forcast for that part of the country this morning
I had no problem going out this morning . I got my perscription then went and got my Chat and Take a Break also posted my letter and card off to Arlington USA and four birtday cards. a few days early but better then being late.
we had no post this morning so it was a good job they phoned me from the hospital about my warfarin tablets..

Oi Stephen, where were you, I got soaked waiting for you. I even asked the coast guard to put out an alert. This is not on girls, he gets us up early, out in the rain, done up in our wellies and water proofs, then he does a runner. Tut Tut. If Gillingham Marina is not on your route, can you tell me next time where I am supposed to be.
Ahhh Linda what a shame you were unable to get out. But it's better to be dry and warm than sodden to the skin. The little one would have only ended up being miserable and tired. Besides, look how much fun you had at home.
Pauline, I did not want to wait till my grandaughter went home, to get out on Stephens Yacht, I needed the break. But it looks like I will end up with pneumonia at this rate. Have you been able to get out today, or have you had the rain like the rest of us.
When do you go back home Marilyn. Is it this weekend or next.
Rita, did you manage to get to the chemists, between the rain showers. Did you put your bikini on, to have a swim in the lake out the front of the building.
I hope Jean is doing o.k today.

Well time going fast She's had breakfast and lunch. Now in the cot for a sleep. Several nappies changed too. We've read books done puzzles threaded beads making a necklace to take home made a key ring for her Daddy(drawing and sticking) and then stuck foam transport shapes onto card........... naming them and the colours too. Oh we do have fun learning here. Hopefully she will sleep for an hour Thenshe will be happy going home to Daddy who has been away for nearly a month !!!
Oh I finally ran outside and grabbed the sodden washing and spun it dry it needs to go on the airer inside now, not risking the weather again

Morning Rita Hope you are Ok today, try to avoid the all day showers.
So much rain has fallen over the last 3 days, I wouldn't be surprised if I saw Noah and his ark !!!!
I am not going to the show. It is too wet underfoot. Can't see me managing the buggy or an under 2yr old in wellies all day. So hubby has gone to his brothers and they will see how it is when they get there. He went with my blessing as I said it would be easier at home with Little M than in a house with no toys or even just out for a pub lunch, it is boring for little ones. And they might get around better without me anyway.
I have just removed a huge slug from my front porch............................. where do they come from when the rains come? Maybe they come down in the rain LOL

Morning all if you can call it a good one ? it is overcast and still raining. I have a lake in front of me which the sea scouts use and the canal at bacik but if this rains gones on much longer I will be on a lake.
in the 70's we had a cabin c ruiser which we birthed at Hallford Mariner on the Thames it was a 6 birth we shared it with my younger son all expense's were split between us. She was called" Flake"and we had two licences for her one for the river and one for the sea. you had to get a sea worthy certificate every year .and one for the River. we had lovely times on that went every year to Henley regatta. we sold her when we moved to Norfolk as the cost of taking her out of the water and transporting her to Norfolk was too costly. I wonder where she is now. ? the person who brought her lived up north and took her to the Canal near Birmmingham so if on your walks you come across a cabin cruiser called" FLAKE "let me know please. It has brought back happy memories of that listening to you all about sailing..all her inside was wood it was really lovely. I have nothing planned to day only go and get my books from the newsagents and collect my perscription from the chemist.. see you all later. time for a cuppa. Rita

Morning Sailors Stephen I think we all need your boat in the south, esp today. Thanks for the drinks Guess I'll not be going to the show today, can't see me pushing a buggy round the field the showground will be on!!! And little M is too young to walk all day especially in wellies and waterproofs. Just not worth it. Still the weather is looking better for the bank holiday weekend. Shame hubby will be at work.
Have a good day all

Hi Pauline, my grandaughter is here till friday week. Me thinks I will need a holiday after she has gone. I have just been in her bedroom, and cleared up the wet clothes. More to come when she gets back. If you don't like the water when we go on Stephens yacht, he will supply you with a Mae West. No not a bra, a life jacket.

Hi everybody, just popping in before I fall into a hot bath.
It's been red hot here but it looks like the south of the country had a lot of rain. Sounds like a good idea to call it off for tomorrow Linda, unless you have a dramatic change in the weather.
Before I forget..............Liz said she's so stressed out that she might not be able to post until after the dreaded wedding. Just as well she told me because I've got a load of emails to send on, and she hasn't got the time to read them. Try to stay calm Liz..........or maybe hide in the cupboard until it's over.
Rita and Jean, I'm still thinking of you and keeping my fingers crossed for both of you.
Shelly, I don't know how you can be bothered with all that farm game stuff. Mind you, I've never played it, I'm not even a member of the site.
How long have you got your granddaughter staying with you Mo?
Marilyn, have you managed to talk Stephen into lending us that yacht then? I think we all need a break. Hmm, there's a problem though.............I don't like water, it frightens me.
Stephen, hope you don't mind me nicking some of your fairy dust and throwing it around the thread.

I've googled Tir-nan-Og before, can't remember who was talking about it, but I had to google because I'd never heard of it.
I like the idea of a play-park for the over 60s, I've just qualified for it............lol

Hi all. Stephen, we have got one of the play areas for silver surfers down here. Of course I am to young to go play there, Oooooh I am a little fibber. To be honest I haven't got the energy, or the inclination to go. Don't want to make myself look any stupider than I am.LOL
Rita, I can't believe how they mess you about with your warfarin tablets. I would have thought that they should have regulated it by now. Keep your chin up love.
Linda, we have had rain all day as well. I have got loads of washing to do tonight. I can't believe that one teenager can use so many clothes over night. She went shopping with her boyfriend today, got soaked through to the skin, and she has now gone over to his house by bike, in the pouring rain. Two more outfits to wash and dry, I suppose. I just hope she doesn't go down with a stinking cold before her mum gets home, from her holiday.
Well Marilyn and Shelly, what do you think of the new old housemates. How the hell could they have put John Mc Cririk(sp) back in there. Yuk he is a dirty filthy old git, who picks his nose and eats it. Very controversial, with Nasty Nick back in, and moaning minnie Nicki. Poor ol Josie, she has been queen of the house for so long, she will have her nose put out of joint now.
Hello Jean. Between you and Stephen, preparing all the breakfasts, we will soon be putting the weight on. How are you feeling now? Have they said any more about your treatment. Keep your chin up love, and kick the bu**er to the kerb.
