Hi ,

What a nice evening......just been out in the garden and quite pleased with myself I have planted lots of spring bulbs , I'm getting carried away with planting them, so I have called a day ,think I'll have enough daffodils to run a stall ..LOL

I'm going to Torquay tomorrow as the forecast is sunny so may as well use my bus pass, before I wear the numbers off completely .

Where are you all ????????

Mo I am not too sure about shaking a leg mine will fall off I think if I shook it. I can still wriggle my bum just.

I went for a walk this morning then came back made an apple pie and a small chicken pie for my dinner then repotted three plants and it nearly killed me I was as red as a beetroot and was so hot I had to sit and rest before I finished doing them.

I watched the Pope arrive and wonder if my cousin in Glasgow was among the crowd.

I hope jean is resting .and feeling a little better. ?

Love

Mo in Kent Report 16 Sep 2010 15:35

Well whats going on here then. Marilyn oooh you are a little fibber, if I can jive, you certainly can, as you are just a lickle bit older than me. Hmmm I wonder whose birthday is soon, and she will be older than me still, for a few weeks more. LOL
Don't worry about the expence of our meal out, as Stephen has volunteered to pay for us all.
Now if we did have to pay, it would definately have been a Mc D's all round.
It's been another busy day here, we have had four visitors, and the kettle has been on the go nearly all day. I don't want another cup of tea for hours to come, as I am beginning to look like a tea leaf. ( No Shelly not that kind of tea leaf. ) LOL

I hope that Jean is o.k, sending you love Jean mwah.

Rita, we can still shake a rug can't we love. I wonder if Stephen can manage to jive with two partners. We used to have great fun doing that. Many a time we ended up on the floor in fits of laughter, where we had gone wrong.

My mother use to tell me to eat the crusts it gave you curly hair. I love the crusts better than the bread.

well I have been to the Old Lyons corner house for dinner and tea when I worked in Oxford Street.
Lol
The last time I passed the Ritz it was quite dirty looking on the outside they had door men on as they do the Hilton and Park Lane Hotel.my sister spent the night at the Hilton Hotel before they flew off to Italy .on their honeymoon.
Park Lane had lots of workmen about doing the hotels up I think they are doing all the hotels up ready for the visitors for the Olympics..

The Care Lady who took me to the Hospital on Tuesday told me she was going to Harrods for Tea. a friend of her husbands gave her husband tickets for his birthday. she said she was looking forward to it.

Pauline anyone can jive and do the twist my favourite that is. your be fine. Lol.
we are going to live it up girls. cannot wait

Rita.

I always cut the crusts off my sandwiches as well, maybe I belong with those people in the Ritz.........LOL

I'm off out now, going to see my 92 year old aunt........she's been to the Ritz for afternoon tea as well. I suppose when you get to that age you've done everything you wanted to do.

Rita, I love that song that you had for your husband, Michael Bolton has a great voice.

Don't think we'll need your slang book at the Ritz Marilyn.

Stephen, I like Boris - he's a complete nutter, wonder if he can jive.

Can you jive Mo?

You'd better hurry up and get rid of that cough Linda, you won't be able to dance properly if you're coughing all the time.

Shelly doesn't drink so we'll have to get her a bottle of pop with her dinner. Don't think Rita drinks either.

OK Marilyn, you can have Stephen as your partner, his lime green socks will match your skirt.

Pauline $(*-*)$ Report 16 Sep 2010 11:15

I don't know how to jive but Rita told me ages ago that she would teach me, I'd love to be able to do it.

I've never been to the Ritz but I've just googled it and it's definitely my choice. Have you seen 'The Royal Suite'? And I'd like to see The Jersey Boys, that would be great.

I can make a skirt with loads of layers of net underneath and my hair easily goes into a ponytail.

My favourite meal is lobster, don't need anything with it except freshly baked wholemeal bread.........and butter of course.

My favourite dessert is tiramisu made with Bailey's Irish Cream.

I love wine but can't drink anything strong so I always have White Zinfandel.

That's me sorted, Rita's having lamb or chicken with fruit and cream for afters. What are the rest of you having?

GRMarilyn

GRMarilyn Report 16 Sep 2010 10:46

Morning All,

I can Jive and Twist.....but I want Stephen to be my partner first , just so I can show you how good I am...LOL... then you can all share him one at a time though .....

Stephen you forgot your Brylcream oh.. is that how its spell't ???? forgotten I expect Mo or Rita will know ..

Got all my old records in the loft, but got quite a few tapes & CD's so I'm going to sort out the favorite ones and bring them with me .

Shelly will have to just bop because she's too young to jive & twist, or maybe she could put the records on as we dance .....OK Shelly ....or Not ..LOL

So now its down to choice of venue.........all waiting !!!!!!!

Thank you for the breakfast Stephen you have gone a bit over the top, but I like it >>LOL
I think Boris would come for dinner but we would only end up talking politics
and that would spoil everything .....so that's a no no..

Off out in the garden to practice my moves !!

Rita

Rita Report 16 Sep 2010 09:10

I cannot wait to see you dressed up like that Stephen I like the green socks as well.
Mo and I can teach you the Twist and Jive and Rock and Roll if you have forgotten how to do it. I dont know if the others used to go dancing everynight like I did and I think Mo did.?

No we dress up for the Hotel meal and dressed in the Rock gear in a room booked for that. we dress first and you can follow us , we cannot allow a gentleman inn the same room while we girls dress for the dance.'.

then next day we can go off and enioy the show "Jersey Boys " or we could reverse and see
The Jersey Boys first. they have all the songs and dancing in that show.
go to the hotel have a good meal and then go dancing in the evening.
I think I will order

Prawn Cocktail/ Melon

Roast Lamb .mince/sauce roast potato's and parsnips and sprouts/ or
Chicken roast potato's sage and onion stuffing white cabbage and baked parsnips.

Dessert I will have. fresh fruit and cream.

Morning all hope you all have a good day.

Love Rita

Morning Stephen and all
Good to see you back here !!
Not looking too bad here this morning.
Have the twins at 8:30. It's going ok. We made masks yesterday, did bead threading and made cards too, as well as some sticking and drawing.. I had a walk pushing the double buggy to school, so exercise too.
The cough is still annoying. But possibly not as bad. I had some covonia and it seems to help a little.
Son and DIL came and shared a gammon joint with us and apple and blackbeery crumble after. I walked round the lake before dinner too.

Of to a copy group concert tonight so I might not get back today. The group does Queen and ELO so I'll lewt you know what it was like.

Have a good day

Linda :o) XxX

(_)?(_)?(_)?(_)?(_)?(_)?

Tea,Coffee, Toast, Cereals, Grapefruit Segments, Fresh Orange Juice etc.
Get tucked in to it.
Morning all you Rock n Rollers. What a mis-spent youth you must have had! While you were all jiving in the local Palais de Dance I was most likely up a mountain somewhere or paddling a canoe off the West Coast, still never mind I can play catch up now.
I'm sure you will all teach me the various moves. You never know we could start a revival of the Jive and finish up on Telly.
What do you think of my gear....will I look the part?
Wonder what the folk will think when we wander into some posh establishment for our meal.LOL.
Now for the serious business...let's have your ideas down on paper. Where do we go. What do you fancy for a meal. Is it a West End Show or a night in the Palais?
I could contact Boris and ask that the Trafalgar Square Fountains be cleaned up for our end of night paddle. He might join us...he's daft enough I think.

Have a good day ya all!

HELLO STEPHEN ....... Nice to have you back....all is forgiven .

I think Shelly ought to select the restaurant as I know she likes Pie & Mash !!

So we would have to go along with her as she is a fussy eater .....and we need her to translate all the lingo of cockney slang , mind you I do have my book of slang ,I could bring it with me ...

But on the other hand you wouldn't get good service in them places they just chuck the food at you ,and I love to be waited on like Mo says the Ritz sounds Fab.

Let me sleep on it....LOL

Don't fancy the swim........cant fit into my bikini anymore, I refuse point blank to wear a cossy because it makes me look old and I'm not ..

Anyway I'm off to my pit......had a funny old day today....
