The sun is shinning........it was warm last night I thought, maybe summer is back !

Dont know what to do today.......... could pack for Friday but then its clothes all creased too early .........maybe sit in the sun instead, yes that's what I'll do go on the beach for a couple of hours and sit and watch all the people out walking along the cliffs...

Hope we will have sunshine today Rita as I have stripped the bed to get it all washed before the rain forecast for Friday and colder too. Hate having to use the tumble drier.
Enjoyed our coq au vin last night with my daughter.
Tonight quiet. Friday in to neighbours. Sunday eve a wedding reception. So the usual mad social whirl.

The sun was shining I got out of bed at 6. to make myself a cup of tea and went back to bed and read for a little while and drank my tea. the sun went in and the sky has now got dark colouds over head (please can I have the blue sky and not the dark clouds )
I am now going to do a boiled egg just felt like having one of those for breakfast this morning.

Pauline I have not put the conkers down as yet I need to hoover the corners of the room before I put them down.

Well, I definitely lost my test post by pressing 'alt' and the left arrow but I didn't get it back again by pressing 'alt' and the right arrow...........so that didn't work.


I give up, I can't get it back, but at least I know how I lost it!!

What makes my post disappear? I've just sat here and typed a post out and it vanished in front of my face. God knows where it's gone.

Rita, where have you put the conkers, are they in the bathroom or on the floor beside your door?

I think your estate manager has a cushy job, she gets paid for nothing.

Marilyn you did really well for your birthday, lovely presents .........but I like the sound of the ring the best.


Edit: Ah, I think I've found out what happened to my post.

My hands must have been resting on 'alt' and the left arrow. If you press 'alt' at the same time as you press the left arrow..........it jumps you back to the previous page, so it would have jumped me back to 'Friendly Thread' before I started my post. I'm going to try it out on a new post and then see if I can get it back again.

well I for one and not going to swim the channel I dont like deep water or swimming with fish.
so if Stephen wants to swim to France we will follow in a helicopter or boat for those who dont like to fly. ?
otherwise we could go up in a baloon and watch him but not good if you dont like heights ?
so he will have to come up with something better than that if he wants us all to have a go or go somewhere..

Pauline You will laugh at this I told my son at lunchtime that Carole had brought me some Conkers so I could get rid of the hairy spiders.
He laughed and said "they use them to sit on and keep warm." he is full of wit that one he used to phone me when I lived in Norfolk.and say he was a china man and was going to delivery my Chinese meal or Indian meal whatever.he had me fooled a couple of times but not anymore.

Mo we residents on this estate did not know anything about it till we had a note pushed through the door. that they were doing that, on that morning which was yesterday.I thought they were only going to replace the paving stones as they were a bit unsafe.

One of the thing I have on my list for the AGM I have quiet a few listed of questions. People moan about things that go on here but they never stand and question why we were not asked first and we pay for it all ourselves.out of our maintence money
They usualy ask me
. I have told the Estate manager I am no longer going to pop my head out of the window and ask anyone what number flat or Bungalow they are looking for. or opening the door with the wall phone for someone wanting her.now they have told us we must shut the laundryroom door as a fire precaution. (Health and Safety. )so I asked what about the contractors that need to get in there to the toilet. she said she would have to asked the aera manager.
Guess what happened yesterday twice a contractor came to me and ask for the key urgently I gave it to them but made sure they knew they had to bring it back to me. I told her this morning I am not paid to do her work.

I'll start off by telling you that my darling hubby is going to buy me a new ring when I see what I like......it has to be of good quality diamonds LOL white gold or platinum , no crap out of the markets .Will let you all know on the day I find one I have been looking for a while now ,might get it in USA.

I had a Jasper Conran Silk Beige scarf .
CoCo Mademoiselle perfume .
Chanel 19 perfume.
Delicious chocolates that I shared last night with our Coffee,
Mother Of pearl & silver necklace.
2 bouquets of flowers.....
My brother in law has just arrived and dug up 2 blackcurrant bushes and said these are for your birthday .....LOL So got to get Pete to plant them now with the other one in the field .....excited was I ?? LOL

I think that's not a bad birthday treat .....

And Iv'e got some Mae Wests, Pauline ,so we wont drown, but we dont want to get wet do we, it will spoil our lovely coiffures. ( hair )
Got to go start dinner now, be back later.

Mo, I've got a nice big torch, it's like a spotlight, if anybody falls in we'll be able to see them easily.

Are we still waiting for Marilyn to tell us what she got for her birthday?

Linda, that's awful about your friend, what a horrible thing to say to her after 34 years. If he didn't want to be with her any more he could have picked a better time to tell her. And he should have waited until he'd made his mind up instead of leaving her wondering what's going to happen.

I am soooo pleased that it is good news Jean. Don't forget, all your friends on here will be sending out good vibes for you, and praying for another success with your back.

Linda I can't believe how hard hearted your friends husband is. If he is so unsure of his feelings for her, he could have waited a bit longer to have told her. Or at least have told her before, as he must have been having doubts for some time now.
Oh how blind we women can be at times,and not see what is before our eyes. Had he been acting any different towards her.
I do hope she the has courage to get through this, it is such a blow to her,bless her.

Rita, I can believe the contractors taking the heather bushes up. Nothing is sacred any more. And that little bit of joy that you all had, is now taken away from you without your knowledge. Why can't the powers that be, leave things alone.

You can tell when winter is coming round,as they start to dig the roads and pavements up around here. It's the same every year, chaos caused by paths being shut of, and roadworks everywhere.

Pauline don't you find that when you have your day planned out, somethng always upsets the apple cart.
It was the same here last week, we had unexpected visitors nearly every day.

How does it feel to be one day older Marilyn.I bet you were exhausted opening all those presents. What did you get, come on tell us do. I bet there were loads of bouquets of flowers. Mmmmm lovely.

Stephen, how the heck are we supposed to swim the channel, with all these big breakfasts you keep dishing up. We will all sink to the bottom of the seabed with all the extra weight.
I know that cross channel swimmers are supposed to gain some weight, to enable then to have the stamina, but for gods sake, think of our waistlines please.
Don't somehow think we will get many takers for the channel swim, brrr it's to flippin cold at this time of year.
Just coz you want to see Marilyn in her bikini,and Shelly with her jogging bottoms on, tut tut. LOL

I was giggleing when Carole my friend brought the conkers she said let me know if they work.I said I dont thing the spiders will climb up your stairs they would be too tired by the time they got to the top of the landing.

she told me she was surprised there were so many conkers laying about. she asked me"dont the children play conkers now. "? I said "you must be kfdding with all these hand-held games they have and the computers"
we didnt have anything other than marbles and conkers and whip and tops, and skipping ropes in my days.

we soaked the conkers in vinigar or put them in a hot oven.
she didnt have a chance to do anything like that her parents were in the RAF and her father a pilot so they traveled all over the place.

She does have certificates on her wall as she use to go shooting( not animals )just targets and clay pigons she has certificates from Bisley as well.

Hi everybody. I've been out shopping, just got back. I was going to pop in this morning before I went out but a friend rang and I ended up rushing.

Jean, I'm so pleased to hear your good news, it's about time something started to go right for you. Just got the other one to sort out now, you'll be getting lots of special thoughts from this direction.

I cant believe I have not had any spider friends....YET ......I wonder if its because I have had new windows & door put in .....maybe the old lot had holes in !! LOL

Also I did have a new fitted carpet through out early last year so that may have helped , never saw any holes in the carpet though ..LOL

Have just done some washing all on the line blowing away, and my garden is looking lovely , grass all cut hedges all trimmed , leaves all hoovered up.just want to sit in it to admire it now .....maybe have lunch out there.
