Hi Rita, I hope you didn't think I was prying. You all seem to know each other so well, and I am very new on this thread. They had trouble stablising me on the Warfarin, and there was a point in my treatment I was going to the clinic everyday. My thin, too thick, too this, too that. When they got a good viscosity I was fine. I had a lovely little Malayan nurse who took my blood through a butterfly line. The needle was very small. One nurse took it through what seemed to be a rusty nail. lol
I think the Opening of the Games was spectacular. Very colourful indeed.
Lots of beauty sleep tonight for us ladies, we want to WOW them tomorrow.
Apparently it is raining in London. So very pleased we are not there. lol

Anyway I dont wear wellies. . I watched the opening of the games.I thought it was someones birthday when the frieworks went off.
Maddie I am on Warfarin for the rest of my life . at the moment I take one blue and two brown everyday..
I will be going to bed with the games on my mind tonight all tensed up ready to go and do my stuff.

Hello All.
Stephen put me down for anything, I am a game old bird.
Rita, are you on Warfarin. I had to take that for 6 months. Remember the little tablets, sometimes cutting them in two, to get just the right dose. Some brown, some blue, some red. Then the blood count every week. My, my I was like a pin cushion. By the time one bruise had gone, I had another. Just on an aspirin a day now. For the rest of my life, daunting thought, but hey ho, you do what you have to do.
The Opening Ceremony has begun. Wonderful music and colours.
There are dancers representing all types of Indian culture. The costumes are really impressive. The 'Peacocks' are terrific. The sand painting is something else. How can these men with just a flick of their fingers, make such intricate pictures. Amazing.

I've been up in my room marching.
Stephen said we had to practice. So I have been. I feel a right pillock now ...............................
I think I am entered for the three-legged race cos I have an advantage. You wouldnt tell, cos my extra leg disappears when I whistle. Brilliant.
Pleased you like the flowers, we can use the fridge in the kitchen to keep them cool, otherwise they will wilt in this heat.
Have we GOT to meet Charlie and Camilla. I feel so strongly about THAT WOMAN. Mind you if he had married her when he had the opportunity, all that heartache could have been avoided. I dunno.
Gonna do a bit of baton twirling with my ribbon now, unless there is something else I should be doing.

LOL Rita, Marilyn made a good choice starting a day before anyone else..............she had nobody to beat. Maybe we should all start today - we could get all the medals while the others are still marching round with their flags.
We could do the 3-legged race today Marilyn, because I don't think anyone else is in it.
Linda, I think you're in table tennis and archery. I know Rita is in the gymnastics with Shelly.
Can't remember what anyone else is in, has anyone got the list?

I'm a bit late because I've been doing a lot of training, got to make sure we do our best.
Lovely flowers for us to carry Maddie, glad she remembered to cut out the pollen stems, we couldn't have any marks on our lovely dresses.
My dad was in the Royal Navy, I used to play Hearts of Oak on a kazoo when I was a kid. My choice of tune would be Rule Britannia - let them know where we're from.
I could bring my kazoo and join in with the Marines when they play Hearts of Oak.

Isn't this exciting today it all starts. all of us ready and waiting. I have been told out team has been picked to have lunch with Prince Charles and The Dutchess of Cornwall. we must be on our best behaviour and will be met by the British Ambassdor . Stephen my favourite tune is "Amazing Grace " it brings tears to my eye's but gives me a tonic. makes me feel better in my self.
So let's put our feet forward and face the Commonwealth and show them all is not lost Britian flies the flag ot Banner whichever you wish to call it. ?and show them all. we still carry the GREAT in front of Britian.
