By crickey its cold up here. The centre of town looks lovely when it is lit up. Trafalgar square looks cracking with the fountains and the National Gallery and St Martins floodlit.
Going down the Strand will give us the chance to look at the new Savoy Hotel. We may even stay there tonight I fancy. They have to put us up somewhere posh. They spent squillions on making it wonderful again. Apparently it has been refurbished to its Edwardian splendour, so it should be fit for the conquering heroes and heroines.
Please Johnnie will be there. I will hang on to the Mink if you dont mind [its not real] and get Johnnie to hang it up for me. Then I can jump on him, sorry, engage him in intellectual conversation.
Maybe in the morning Rita and I can cross the River and make out feelings known about Tate Modern, and let them know we think it is a pile of poo. lol
Apparently Kapoor bloke has installed some mirrors in Kensington Gardens that distort. Go to Hampstead Heath on Bank Holidays and you can see the same in the Hall of Mirrors. He gets paid mega bucks for this tripe.
Mo, please stop being disparaging to me about knickers, I wear a THONG darling. A little whisp of lace I will have you know. That was a silk scarf I was waving, all the way from Delhi. 'sits huffing and puffing'
Look out London, HERE WE COME.

Hi Jean
Lovely to see you have posted on the thread.
Shelly stop wasting paper I had to scroll right down to read you one liner.
Mo that was good to hear you had a win good on you.
Maddies get that stole off you the animal rights group will have a go at you.so will I if it is real mink you have on your shoulders.
The Gallery was the new tate by the way.with the sunflower seeds. I am a little disgussed about it. I found out why the artist if you can call him that did this it is politcal because of the chinese who suffered famine and they had to eat sunflower seeds.to stay alive but it was still political.

Thank goodness....at last we have a bit of action.

I wont let on, but Johnnie Depp will be in the Guildhall, he will be 'working' in the cloakroom.

If word gets out someone may just vanish from our midst.

Can someone guide the driver ? He's new to the town.

Looking forward to the Guildhall.....and meeting Boris. HM The Queen may be there. She's lovely.

I'm starving, as are Tom, Bobby and Andy.

I am sitting on the top deck of this opentop bus, I will have you know. Let me tell you in London town it is decidedly nippy. Thank goodness I have my mink stole around my shoulders. This lbd is fab, but none too warm. I trust we will go through Victoria, around Buck House, along the Mall, the Strand and along to the Guildhall. It will take a good hour, but we should be welcomed handsomely when we do get there. I know LIZ and Boris will be there, but have you found Johnnie for me. I would like to take him aside and, er, er, talk about his new film. In private of course.
lol

Pauline
that is what comes of chatting on the phone. now you will get a bill for your fare and notthing is cheap. perhaps they will accept one of your gold medals instead of the money with a silk scarf.

Yvonne Horse got a good place for his flight all the comforts of the stables he got in India..
They had to give him an in -jection to calm him down but he was fine when I gave him a sugar lump.

Morning all. Just finished packing my stuff.

All Audrey Hepburned up, so am ready to go. The limo is outside, just need a flunky to take my trunks down to the adjoining car. We sure have a lot of stuff to take back with us.

Hope the papps will take lots of piccys for us to gloat over when we get back home.

The bus is gonna go on a tour of London if it is to go past Buck House before the Guildhall. Still it should get the maximum attention. hope ITV and BBC are on standby.

Hope everyone is well.

Speak later.

Morning all.
Come on get a move on we dont want to miss the jet home. We are going back with three times more than we came with,I just hope there is room for it all.
I suppose we could always sell Yvonnes horse, and have the extra space for our gifts.

I hope we won't be long getting back ,as I have got to go to the eye hospital with my son this morning. The Optician thinks he may have a detatched retina. Kids who would have em, even at thirty three he is like a big baby, and needs his mum and dad there.
Speak to you tonight. Luv Mo

TEAM GR

A quick parade of honour around the stadium headed up once more by the Massed Ceremonial Band of the Royal Marines.

We are followed by the Pipes and Drums of The Gordon Highlanders.

Red Carpet out of the Stadium and into our Open Top Stretch Limos heading for the Airport.

The Private Jet departs at 9.00am......don't miss it.

Can someone from London area send the Open Top Bus driver a route to the Guildhall.......we want as many folk as possible to see us come home. We have to pass Buckinham Palace as HM the Queen will be watching for us.

With all this Gold around we must be worth a fortune!!!!!!!!!

Wonder who will become a Dame?

Looking forward to coming home and getting cool. I have loads to bring home with me. Got a collections of bindis that would bring a tear to a glass eye.

Missed the article on the Tate Gallery. Do you mean Tate Modern, on the south bank. We saw shed-boat-shed a couple of years ago. OH is VERY verbal at these showings. We went a few years ago when we saw a load of dexion and he went ballistic. THAT WAS NOT ART. We also saw the pile of bricks. And the molten wax rubbish. I prefer the Royal Academy myself. A better class of rubbish. I also walked on the crack. I have a corporate ticket that gets me into art galleries and museum exhibitions for nothing. The Waterhouse at RA was WONDERFUL.

My ancestor has paintings in the National and Portrait Gallery. SUPERB.

Back to the plot. Hope everyone is well and ok.

Looking forward to the Civic Reception at the Guildhall with Boris. I dont want a Damehood, just get me to meet Johnnie Depp, he is in London.

Nighty night everyone. Knackered. Long day.

Stephen
Thank goodness for that I am feeling tired with all the excitment I am not use to it coming all at once..
I think we all did well. I have so many silk scarves with the medal I think I might donate them to a charity.
for tired competitors.

Did anyone see the News tonight about the Tate Gallery, ?
I double up with laughing. they called it art.
artifical sun flower seeds laid out as a floor.and you are allowed to walk on it.
I visit the Tate a lot when I am staying in London. I have seen bricks piled up this is art. I have walked on cracked floors this is art.

No wonder the gallery is always saying the need money to keep going.

I would sooner walk a round a galliery with good painting hanging on their walls my favourite is Lowry.even if they are Match stick figures

JET !

I'm needing a Jet up my backside......the last couple of days has been pure murder. So many demands from all sources....I wish to 'H' I had been in India. It would probably had been a great rest.

MOAN MOAN MOAN MOAN.

Thats it ! My moaning over for another long time...I hope.

Didn't you do well.

Flight home.....Private Jet...as usual. Departs Delhi 9.00am Tuesday.

Champagne all round.

Home to Red Carpets, Stretch Limos,
Open Top Bus Tour,
Civic Reception in the Guildhall with Boris.

I have heard there is to be a few MBEs etc for Team GR
and.....
whisper, whisper, someone is to be made a Dame.

Who could that be?

Bring home as many gifts as you like......we are VIPs now.
