Nice to see you back safe and sound Linda, (I liked the parrot....lol).
Marilyn, maybe your daughter-in-law doesn't cook much, that's why there's no proper dishes.
Pity you missed the Christening Stephen, it would have been a night to remember.
By the way, were you knighted while I wasn't looking? I noticed your dear ('dear' meaning - long suffering) wife has gone from 'Mrs Stephen' to 'Lady Stephen'.

Hi Maddie,
Stay CLEAR of Mineral Foundations they will make your skin ever dryer.....they contain no oil and that's what dry skin needs.
So exfoliate once a every 4 weeks to rid the flaky skin, then moisturize every day especially in the winter. Po*ds has a Dry Skin lotion that contains Vitamin E oil........Also (Vaseline Intense rescue) for dry skin from any chemist is a must ...
Best to have a (lotion) rather than a cream as cream will drag your skin and is to heavy . There are many Oil or water based Foundations on the market so many to choose from, it does not have to be expensive M*X factor or CL*nique comes to mind.
But always ask for a sample first........go into Boots they are not so pushy !!!!!.
Gosh I feel like I'm back to work.......and not getting paid for it ...LOL
Just got rid of kids now I'm going to have a cuppa ......(_)? (_)? (_)? anyone join me ?

Hi everybody, we've got sunshine today, we had hailstorms all day yesterday, it was horrible.
I've got a broken toe and son has a black eye............we didn't do it to each other!!
He was in a paddy and slammed the door, but forgot to move his head out of the way first. So his eye is cut and black, it's not the first time he's done it either.
About half an hour later I was walking towards the kitchen when he shouted out, I turned back too quickly and tripped myself up. I fell sideways and landed between a radiator and a small table. Got a few cuts and bruises and broke my little toe, the same toe's been broken twice before.............got a hat trick now.
It wasn't such a good idea to stay indoors after all Mo, we would have been safer in the garden.
Well done Rita, you managed it, I hope you meant 'copy and paste' and not 'cut and paste'. If you use 'cut' instead of 'copy', you'll lose the original picture.

Just off to work now.
Marilyn. This was in the thread I deleted by mistake. When I got hot under the collar about Neil Oliver. I pushed the wrong button and deleted my previous posting.
I explained that Kevin was my husband. Rather than keep calling him OH. It seemed daft. Son and daughter are called Dave [only David when I am vexed with him] and Natalie. So that is my family.
What I also asked, was for your professional opinion.
Is mineral make up better than liquid foundation. I have very dry skin, and liquid foundation makes my skin feel tight. I could go to the make up counters, but they just want to sell their products. So its not impartial.
Going now ...................................

Morning Everyone. It is nice and sunny here but a tad cold. .My son came this morning. he did a few jobs for me. the radio cntrolled wall clock had stopped. I could not reach, it so he did that put new battery in. it is fine now.. he also did my anti virus Agv for me. next he turned my big matress over for me.. It is a slumberland. and very heavy as it is a special one. He said any more Job Mother ? I said yes show me how to do this cut and paste. he talked me through it. so I hope Pauline got my little picture. Lol.it was my own work Pauline but I have to admit my son talked me through it.. when he starts talking about buffers he lose's me. He is a computer consultant. He also brought me his old laptop. a "Toshiba. "so I am fiddling about trying to work out how things go. MY place when he left was used beakers 3 . open tin of biscuits. the laptop. the bedroom floor had the bed covers on it. and the mattress was bare. but all my little jobs were done what a blessing that is. Linda Nice to know you enjoyed your holiday.
I am going to sort something out for my dinner now before I do anything else. forgot to say someone contacted me. she is related through my Great Grandmother. so we are opening our tree'

Oh I do hate cooking in other peoples houses, last night I did a curry and couldn't find a pirex dish anywhere ..!!!!!! Not sure whats microwaveable or what , everything seems too much like hard work, two or three dinner sets but NO proper dishes....oh how do they survive ??????
Its funny how you feel comfy in your own kitchen...LOL
It turned out OK kids ate all that was put in front of them, as they knew I had marshmallow to toast over the fire......they so love that.
We have Sun again, I was on the beach yesterday afternoon with 13yr old Grandson as he surfs and sat watching him on the rocks on the beach , he said did you see me grandma ? Yes I said but you all look the same in your black surf suits so I looked at all of you ....Oh Bless him.

Morning All.
Bright and sunny this morning here too. Really crisp. The trees are shedding their leaves like billy-o. The poor street cleaner has his work cut out for him.
Kevin has woken with a sore throat, so we will dose him up with lemon and honey, and get him to have salt water gargles.
I do believe Neil Oliver is a nice bloke, and yes he does float my boat. Ken Stott, another Scot lives around the corner to me. He is very nice too. Looks like a potato, but he is charming. He wears the same coat as he does in Rebus, lol.
Going into work for a couple of hours, still short staffed cos of illness. They have the air conditioning whacked up so high, it is chilly, so the germs just go around and around.
See you all later.
Hope everyone is well. x

Morning All Clear this morning too in Berkshire. I managed to get all the washing done last night. Tumbled the towels etc, so will hang out the rest when it gets light enough. Hubby is up, FIL is still sleeping. I will go for a walk soon to get some milk, more cos I need to get back into exercising than anything else. Catch you all later. Hope everyone has a nice Sunday
Linda :o) XxX
PS Back from getting some milk. What on earth is the frost doing here this morning? It is really cold and all my dahlias have been cut down. Will need to get into the garden and get rid of them now as the recycling for garden rubbish is tomorrow. Think I'll forget the hanging out of washing as I'm sure it won't dry anyway.

Morning All.
It's Sunday Breakfast................Tea or Coffee, Toast, Fresh Fruit Juice, Bacon, Eggs, Sausage, Hash Browns, Mushrooms, Tomatoes. etc.
It's lovely outside just now, Full Moon, Stars, Frost. Great when you can see the sky and not mucky clouds.
Got the washing on the go.....get it out early while the sun shines.
Lady Stephen2009, is sound asleep, she had a hellish night and found it rather hard to breath. She is the proverbial pack horse, just keeps going and going, then when she does take unwell, very rarely, she takes it really hard. Must give her loads of attention today.
Hope you have a better day Rita.
Maddie.....I won't tell Neils wife that you have the Hots for her Hubby. He is such a nice guy that I'm sure you really would like him in real life also.
Have a good day ya all.

I had pains in my legs and feet and have a cough to add to that I feel so sleepy and keep dropping off. so I have stayed in the warm.and done nothing. I shall be in bed early tonight. I hope I feel better by tomorrow.
Stephen Neil Oliver is my favouite ,I watch Coast .and have seen most of them ,two or three times. I never get fed up watching. as I always see something I had not noticed before.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH.
I love Neil Oliver. I love his hair, and the soft accent. I loved him in Two Men in a Trench and I love him on Coast.
I feel quite sick with disappointment.
Two wet hot tears running down my face.
Walks off sobbing.
Bum. That was my posting earlier that I just deleted.
See - tears in my eyes.

The best laid plans of mice and men.........
Out the window goes our night out at the Christening.
My dear lady is very unwell and just could not face the journey or being out so late. What a bummer, we were so looking forward to it.
She is currently stretched out on the sofa....doped up to the eyeballs...she.just can't be bothered with anything.
Neil Oliver, the chap with the Scots accent and long hair who does Coast, was at my Grandaughters party this afternoon, dropping off his wee lad, Archie. His son is his double including the long hair. It's handy knowing Neil, when he has a new book out, my daughter buys it for me and nips round the corner to Neils house to have it signed. First Editions signed by the Author, magic. I have a collection of fairly rare books, in addition to hundreds of others. It's a wee hobby of mine. And yes I do read them.
Keep on trucking !
See ya all tomorrow

Hi All Back from Devon !!! Thanks Marilyn from all of us, we had a great time. The Devon Cream Tea was lovely and the guided tour was really lovely. We spent Wednesday up to Bude and then had a meal in Kilkhampton, and back across Dartmoor. Thursday we went to Looe, as Marilyn had the day before !! It is lovely and we had never been there before. Friday off to the moors again, Postbridge and Widecombe. Today we came back across the moors then up the A303, A30 and then the M3. A good journey, don't envy the poor families going in the opposite direction................ down towards Devon.School half term. Towels already in the wash. Sorry I missed two important birthdays, so I send belated wishes to Brent and Mo. I hope you both enjoyed your special days. I'll try to get back to routine tomorrow.
Linda :o) XxX
PS the weather was very kind to us. But very wet overnight and heavy downpours whilst packing our car and some of the way home............... but dry in Berkshire. Linda X

I can smell rain coming as well, but not snow. But with my snozzle, I can't miss it. LOL
We have been to numerous Nigerian weddings and christenings, especially when we were doing the fostering. They certainly know how to enjoy themselves, and we enjoyed the food as well. It's not to everybodies taste, but suited our palates. The costumes they all wore were wonderful. Most seemed to belong to the same villages, and wore the same type of clothing,in the same colours.
Pauline, staying inside watching DVD's sounds like a good idea to me. It's amazing what we don't look at when reading the threads, isn't it. Like when Pauline, Marilyn and Shelly add little bits to their names, squiggly bit etc. Unlike clever them, I had to add Kent to my name as there were other Mo's on the threads at the time.
My god Maddie, you are brave facing Oxford Street on a Saturday. It attracts so many visitors at this time of year doesn't it. When do the xmas lights get turned on there. Who have they got to switch them on this year, do you know.
I hope you are enjoying the parties Stephen, and that the children don't cover you in to much jelly, and the like.
Has Rita been on today, I don't remember seeing her posting.
Hi Marilyn, Yvonne, Shelly, I haven't forgotten you all. I will meet you at the Victoria meet Yvonne, it's a pity that Marilyn will be away. Still we can talk about her behind her back, and she wont know about it. LOL

Yay, back home. Thank goodness.
Is it just men that can smell weather. My Dad could always smell the rain coming. Sure enough, within the hour, it poured down.
Oxford Street was MAD.
I went to get myself a pair of trainers/sensible shoes. Remember I told you I fell over at work, on a grape. Went down hard on one knee [call me Prince Charming] and really hurt my knee. Been having trouble with my knee, ankle and hip since. Doc said to give my feet support with trainers. Had an old white pair from gawd-knows-when, so got myself a new pair from Clarks.
Very sensible, Mum would be pleased. She always bought me Clarks or Startrite. Great clompy ones with a t-bar and a buckle. No matter how I scraped my feet at the swings, they wouldnt wear out.
Gonna crash out now, been up since 4.55, dont know why. Just woke and felt I had to get up. Going beddy bye-byes.
Talk later.

Round 1. Building work finished for the day.
Round 2. Shower, dress and off to a Birthday party for my lovely wee Granddaughter, Darcey. A big 5 year old now.
When daylight came my prediction was proved correct.
I told my wife I could SMELL snow when we were going to bed last night.
Guess what ?
The SNOW has arrived on our local hills.
Probably as much as 2" on the tops tailing off down to just about 1000ft above sea level . Might take the GrandChildren up to the snowline tomorrow so they can sledge and throw snowballs.
This is the earliest that I have seen it arrive for many years.
It only vanished at the beginning of June. The latest it has stayed in a long time.
Is our wee Planet trying to tell us something?
See ya later......possibly.
