Mo, I ate them all myself as well...........lovely it was.

Eyeballs, jelly frogs, candy canes,all ready for the halloweeners who call tonight. Whats left over can go into the cauldron, with the neeps and tatties,that Stephens bringing.
I bet no one calls here either Pauline, they didn't last year,and I had to eat the rest of the sweets myself, ooooh what a shame that was. LOL

Hi everybody, I've been out, got back and had to run straight outside to bring the washing in because it's started to rain.

Would you look at that......it's stopped now. Too late, it's in the dryer now, not putting it back out again.

Shelly, you should know by now that you can't get into Marilyn's suitcase, it's always bulging with new clothes. We'll all just have to do as she says and fly behind on our broomsticks.......although I've updated mine, I fly on a turbo charged vacuum cleaner now.

Jean I always have lots of sweets and treats for the kids on Halloween as well. We usually get loads knocking on the door, but last year we didn't get anyone at all. Mind you, it was freezing. Wonder if we get any this year.

Morning Marilyn and Jean it is warm here but overcast.
I was thinking we might have to get an overhaul ourselves and the broomsticks due to Health and Safety regulations. I dont want a big fine. for a bit of fun .?

Witches flying past on Broomsticks.
Black Cats leaping here and there.
White-robed spooks on every corner.
Mournful moaning in the air
Goblins peering out of windows
Spirit-things that rap and run
But dont be scared its just October.
Having one last hour of fun.

Its not bad here . no rain just overcast......I know where the sun is because its waiting anxiously for me ..!! LOL

just put last bits of washing out ,so all towels & sheets have been washed ready for my return.....if ever..!!

Shelly you know I would squeeze in if I could , but there is a weight restriction problem.......LOL ....You and All & Stephen could fly on yer brooms behind, although it would be a bit boring as I would be the one eating & drinking all that wine whilst thinking about you all ...

Sounds like Halloween is going to be fun, Mo be careful on your broomstick, we dont want any accidents.

Out this evening with friends for a meal, the ones who are having marriage probs.................. first time I have seen him since he was so awful to my friend. Will be difficult.

I had an armful of blood taken yesterday, should get the results next week and the hospital consultant the week after.

Pauline I did everything at a slow trot this morning. I had my breakfast ,of porriage .and then sat and watched the news, then I went and had my shower. stood there a long while as well.
I, prepared my dinner then had a coffee. after that I sorted two big box files out and two small files . so tomorrow I have to start shredding. I think I will fill two black sacks up..
I also need to do my vacuming as well.

I am pleased you got your grandfather papers.
I was lucky with mine we found them in my Dads desk along with lots of other things. they were his discharged papers he was a regular in 7th Dragoon Guards. and served in South Africa. Campaign. Johannesburg. Cape Coloney and The Orange free state.12 years and was discharged in 1903 None of this I would have known if my Dad had not looked after them
My Great Uncle Walter was a Petty Oficer in the Royal Navy and sailed in tall ships we didnt know this till we went to the Archives in Islington and managed to get his record four pages. all the other on my mothers side were Royal Marines and we now have five sets of their service.records.
I always tell people to keep searching the records must be somewhere. my Abslom must be. but his I have not found after 7 years searching.

Yvonne, that sounds like a pretty safe bet, hope you've got the right one. It gives you as feeling of triumph when you work it out and get the right one.

I was pleased with myself the other day because I found my grandfather's military records on Ancestry. He died before I was born and all I had was a photo of him in uniform. His records show the day he enlisted, the school he went to, his description (including marks), all his postings (and the dates he was at home), where his mother lived...........all kinds of things. Isn't Ancestry brilliant?

Do you know I did not log on this morning,. I just lkogged on to read some emails and swung over to GR and found I had missed saying good morning too late now so I will say good late afternoon to you all..

Yvvone I am mad about Downton Abbey I even watch the one they show you of last weeks.just before the sunday one.

I am not tricking ot treating. we dont get the children come around here.I think it is because we are old people. Lol

we do get the Girls Guildes and Brownies come and sing carols to us a few days before Christmas they asked their Guider if they could come and they have been coming ever since.

This Saturday they are having a boot sale to rasie funds so I will try and go along and give them some support..

Marilyn I hope you've got room in your case for me lol, how long are you away for. I think I've found my William Wilson I was looking for by process of elimination (had my Sherlock hat on), I noticed on his marriage cert, one of the witnesses was Redhead and on Lancashire BMD there was a birth of William Wilson whose mother's maiden name was Redhead so I'm hoping thats him, I'll get the cert from Preston LRO

I'll come ''trick or tweat' with you but I'll have to have a break to watch Downton Abbey
