Dermot Report 5 Nov 2010 18:58

Pauline - in delightful Devon - having worked many years in London near Oxford Circus. Still trying to copy the local accent down here in the west country.

Hope everyone in London 'enjoyed' the recent Tube strike!

Come on then Dermot, where do 'you' live?

Mo, I bought 3 pairs of skinny jeans, black, denim and grey cord. Plus long black boots to go over them.

There's fireworks going off here as well but I can hardly hear them because son has his music on so loud.

Dermot, they all live in the south, apart from Stephen (he lives in Scotland) and me (l live in the north).

Dermot, even though I live in Kent, I don't originate from here. Guess where I was born..... ( no not in a hospital lol )

Pauline thats what I like to hear, buying clothes for yourself, for a change, instead having to get food. What did you get?

It's so noisy here at the moment, fireworks are going of,left right and center. There is a big display going on, just up the road from us. Better that than having them at home. ( sorry Shelly ). They cost so much to buy nowadays, and are gone so quickly, it's a shame all that money going up in smoke.

I have got two of the grandchildren coming over tommorrow. I am looking forward to that, bless them.

I wonder what Marilyn has been up to today. Marilyn, don't tell us if it's been glorious weather, we will sulk.

I hope both Jean and our Rita are o.k.

We have a bonfire but it's just to get rid of garden rubbish, we live in a smokeless zone and it's the only time we can get away with having a big fire.

Rita, it wasn't my computer that was down, it was the server 'Orange', everyone in this area that's on Orange had the same problem. BT was down as well, don't know what caused it.

I lived in Norfolk about 10 years ago might be a little longer. we use to get a noticed come in our local l newspaper, that we elderly ,could go to the villiage hall or to the hall in Great Yarmouth, where we were handed butter and cheese which was from the common market. they use to bulk buy and stock had so much left over they started giving it away free. you had to take your pension book with you

Ello Ello, is you all gone again.
Pauline what shopping did you do,was it christmas present buying.
I have nearly finished all of ours. I spent about three hours wrapping up the residue, of what I bought the other day, whew shattered now.

Shelly are you having a bonfire,as well as the fireworks. You could always make a guy and use the trousers that the old man keeps on splitting.
Can you shove one of them sausage rolls down the cyber hatch for me PLEASE, I am feeling rather peckish now.

Well Maddie, will you be getting some well earned lie ins in the mornings, now that you are on holiday for 9 days.
Will the lady who does for you being having the time orft as well. LOL

Ooooh Stephen, you naughty, but I like you aka Dick Emery. Getting slimmer for christmas though, no I dont think so. If the dress don't fit, tough, I will buy a bigger size. I likes my food to much, and at my time of life, I am not going on no diet.

Dermot, polytics------ are they what clever kids get when they go to college, and get a question right.

'The Irish Government is to distribute some 53 tonnes of free cheese to people in need in the run up to Christmas'. (Irish Times).

Now that's an idea too for us poor starving people here in the UK. They used to say that the only free cheese to be found was on a mouse trap.

(PS - my earlier posting concerning politicians was typed with my tongue firmly-in-cheek. An oxymoron perhaps!)

Hello Linda
we are all late at times as we get older we get slower and mean to do things and forget. I do anyway. Lol
I hope everything goes well for you all and have a nice time at the weekend.

Marilyn hello.
You seem to be enjoying yourself again.? I hope your having a good time ? we had rain here this afternoon. a heavy downpour.. it is very overcaste now but has stopped raining.

I use to go to my sons firework night and we would stand and watch them you can see the effects from Sandhurst from his back garden. New years they have a wonderful disply of fireworks.

I didnt understand what Demot was speaking of when he mentioned Politicians ? but didnt like to ask ?

I have my boiler sorted the guy came and fitted a new value in the airing cupboard between both the heating and water pipes were getting hot was due to this valve. it took him nearly two hours as he had to go into the attic as well.. he took my old fire alarm battery and put a new one in for me. I thought that very kind of him.
I wondered if Pauline is having anymore trouble with her computer it was down yesterday but she did get it up ad running later.

Pauline I msised you I must have been typing when you came on.

Hi everybody.

I've been out shopping all day, car parks were chocker-block, took me ages to find a place.

Rita, I would have thought it would be a blood test you would need to check on your bruising. Wonder what the water test is for.

Linda, you'll have to send us a photo of the cake.

Don't think I'd fancy in-laws living with me, even for a short while.

Have friends coming to dinner tonight so much to do need to clean and prepare the foods.
The husband has a big exam tody and has driven his wife mad. Plus they have his parents living with them, short term til they find a new home....... proving more difficult than they all thought.

Morning Stephen thanks for the tea I was greedy this morning and
took one tea and one coffee.
I dont think I will bother with your press up and arm swings. I do the walks but push my food trolley in front. lol does that count.?

/How are you anyway ?and your good lady? is she feeling better this morning.?

It was quiet nice when I woke but it started raining at 10.20 that was the exact time. it is still pouring of rain.
I am waiting for the boiler man to call as the heating is up the spout as they say ? and even when the heating is OFF it is still ON would you believe.

The police arrived here at that time as at the back of my flat a lovely silver car has stood for four weeks. I asked around .and someone told me it belong to people staying in one of the flats. but it didnt it had been stollen so the police arrived and the lorry and took it away.
It made the day a little different.

Maddied I know what you mean about the falling leaves our two gardeners called yesterday and sucked up four great big bags of leaves from the lawn in front of my flat and did the same in the other section all the paths were clear it was really nice. a couple of hours after they had gone the wind picked up and the grounds was once again covered in leaves.

walking across to the Doctors this morning the main paths have not been cleared for a couple of weeks and the rain during the week has made them very dangerous for people.
