Oi Shelly are yer blind girl, I'm ere behind ya mate.
What clue should we give Dermot then. I do know that there is a rubbishy programme on the box about where we come from. But I have to admit, we are nothing like that lot, and we certainly don't dance round our handbags, or wear white stilletto's (sp) LOL

Thank you ! One and all for the kind wishes for my son.
I'm rather chocked by the kind thoughts.

As he left to go away I cuddled him close. Then stood back and saluted as one should do to an officer. I didn't have a cap on and it's not normal to salute without one. But what the hell....he's my son....and I'm proud of him.

Next Sunday, Remembrance Day, I will have my Beret on and my Medals on my chest. My thoughts will be for my friends now gone and all others still serving. But most of all I will be thinking of my son.

Thanks for your kindness ladies. Calum will appreciate it when I manage to let him know.

Rita, could we go on a cruise that leaves from Southampton, or somewhere like that. I don't like flying so unless we go by boat, or train I will be left behind, boo hoo.
Good luck to everyone who has done the lotto tonight, lets hope we have a winner between us all.

Yes Dermot, he was buried at the winning post of the Aintree Racecourse.

I think you've been drinking too much of that whisky.

I don't know where Shergar is though.

*Pauline**§(`•_•`)§ - powerful stuff. You don't work for MI5 by any chance?
(Any idea where Red Rum is?)

I was told that Irish Whiskey is a good cure for snake bites. I never go anywhere without a bottle in one pocket & a snake in the other.

Aww, Marilyn you beat me here.

Dermot...

At the 1950 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, the United States defeated England 1–0 in a group match.

So it was 1950 in Ballinacostello, Aghamore, County Mayo, Ireland, that you were born.

Edit: Was it in one of those little white cottages? They look very pretty.

Hi Rita. You leave those top shelf books where they belong, you can't have your grandson getting all frisky over in Oman. Is it that country that chop the hands of the locals, if they steal something. Oh my lord it doesn't bare thinking about.
Be careful if you send chocolate, it will be all runny by the time he opens it, in all the heat over there.

Ahhhhh Maddie we did miss you love. I thought you may have gone to a fireworks party.
How many are coming to the Victoria meet, do you know the final totals yet.
Mind you, some may have to drop out because of unforseen circumstances, wont they.

I am exhausted, we have had two of the grandchildren here for most of the day. I am sure they are given extra E numbers before they arrive at their dads. They always seem to be hyper by the time they get here. My son limits the E numbers they can have, ie- no coke drinks, no chocolate etc.
Hmmm nanny wants to give them just a few, but dares not to.

Rita Merlins on tonight, and then the dancing, yippeeeee. Something interesting to us for a change.

Dame*Shelly*("\(*o*)/") - any connection with Manchester or thereabouts?

*Pauline**§(`•_•`)§ - around the time I was born:

** Petrol price increased to 3 shillings a gallon.
** Nuclear powered ships & submarines were promised to be in operation within 10 year.
** North Korea marches south.
** US offers military aid to South Korea.
** BBC agreed to televising 100 sporting events a year.
** England lost to USA (1-0) in the first round of the World Cup.
** My mum reportedly said - "Oh no - not another boy!"
