I am here not sure how long for,I stubbed my big toe and it is hot and very painful it is not brokend as I can move the toes up and down. that is what I get for going around in my bare feet. OCH,
I looked at Yvonne birthday and gave it a nudge up.just now
Maddie the family drove Black Cabs in the 1930 onwards till 1966. I use to go shopping to Oxford street , some times with my mother ,and we would come out of Shops and my father in Law would pull over and drive us home FREE
use to feel posh. Lol
I was looking at one of the thread by Chris of wesxex and she was saying one of the shops in portsmouth has banned one of the young asistants because she is wearing a poppy and said one of t he shop also tells the poppy seller to clear off.out side their shop I think that is disgusting.
So Dermot has come to the surface then ? what happened to Stephen. ?
jean did you do anything on your family tree today ? I have done alittle more.to mine.
Shelly I went through your cemetery list this morning just incase any of the family of my husbands were on it or any of the family from that end of London But I found two names Tapp on the West Ham list and I have a friend here that is her name she and her husband came from there so I have made a note and will ask her when I see her to see if it is any of her husbands family.. If it is I will let you know.
How do you get them on your list ? I have some photos of family graves somewhere if I find them out and managed to send them will they be of use to you. I know where they are buried but they are with my name.
I think I will put some pain killer cream on my big toe. any pffers. Lol.

Stephen lifts his Kilt and shows all................All his natty underwear that is.
Great Wedding Today. The colours of the ladies dresses were fantastic. The gents were rather spectacular as well. A great cultural expeience.
Great to have a wee seat in the quiet for a time. It has been very hectic the last few days.
Grand Ceilidh coming up this Saturday......Kilt and sporran getting another outing.
I disappear for a couple of hours (well maybe a bit more than that) and I get dogs abuse from you lot.
Keep it up.....I like it.
Gonna have a VERY LIGHT supper now.
Promise.....I will make the breakfast tomorrow.

Maddie considering you spent part of your summer in Sunderland, you should be able to cope with a Southern winter easily.
Your winter is probably 10° warmer than our summer.

You're right Rita, the men have deserted us..........mind you, it could just be that they're at work.
I love looking at old photos Rita, especially of family members I never met. I like to see if I can see any resemblances with the family that are alive now.

Maddie my Husbands family they came from all around the East End they lived in Wood Street St Pancras.some where born in Bethnal Green. They were tall buildings three or four flats in Cromoer Street I think it was Mansion Polish who brought the land and built on it. The Males were either Tailors or Taxi Drivers in the family my husband father and his brothers were all black cab drivers.there rank was at Kings cross Station My husband went into the army .
we use to walk around the markets They had some really good ones around that area.
I am glad you got photos it makes it worth while . I have one of my father in law his brother and three of his nephews standing on the Westminster bridge with all the black cab drivers. in the back ground is Westminster, it was taken during the war near the end. they look like the maffi. My father in Law was a fire fighter at night during the war

It's not our turn for the rain, we've had it most of the day, we've had hailstones as well. Anybody want the hailstones?
Thank you for your kind thoughts for my niece everyone. She's had her operation but is still in the recovery room at the moment and can't have any visitors yet. I'll wait and go up tomorrow to see her, but they said her dad could go up later tonight. It'll be hard for her not having her mam (my sister) there with her.

All my love and prayers for your niece Pauline, I will be thinking of you all, knowing how hard it is going to be for you all to face.
Maddie we shall have to call you Mad Maddie, going out in this bad weather. But as you said, it's better to do it now, rather than later, as later there may be nowt left.
I went to get my eyes tested today. Good news, my eyes have improved, rather than deteriorating, so no new glasses needed thank goodness.
I went to Primani, and bought slippers for the grandchildren for christmas. Now they were a bargain, only £3.00 a pair. I don't know what the assistant thought, when I plonked 7 pairs on the counter. Only got to buy another 4 pairs, then they have all got another stocking filler.

Home again, home again, jiggety jig.
Well that was a morning and a half. As I went out Kevin said 'You must be flipping potty' I know I am getting a bit deaf, but I swear he didnt say flipping. lol
I did look a sight, trainers, training pants, duvet coat, big scarf, umbrella, and my hair scraped back into a ponytail. I promise to scrub up when I come to the Meet.
Well the Powers that Be watched over me. It waited until I was soaked to the skin, and chilled to the bone. THEN it stopped raining, and the wind dropped. I looked like the Wreck of the Hesperus. However, I did go equipped, me being a Guide you know. My AZ was in plastic, so was the camera and note book.
Sad to say some of the streets have gone, but a few left. Took about 10 pictures, so that is better than nothing.
Going for a cuppa and a sandwich now.
Dont know Croma Street, Rita. It may be called something else now.
Hope Paulines niece gets well soon. Always a worry when someone is unwell.
See ya all later.

Maddie best of luck with the photos. your right they do take building down and errect other quickly in that aera. My husband was born in Croma Street Islington and was bombed out during the war. they moved the family to Harlesden in Willesden it is called Brent now. we went to look at where he was born and they had built a shoe polish factory on the spot. so we didnt get to take any photo's of his old house or where it stood. didnt want a photo of a shoe polish factory. Lol

Forgot to say, my niece is in hospital, she has an operation today so I'll be at the hospital every day this week.
Her partner will be taking next week off work to look after her when she gets out of hospital but I'll still be there to help as well.
