Stephen, footie yes.

My local team is Arsenal. A brilliant team, home grown players and a sense of community, UNTIL Arsene Wenger took over.

Now there are practically no local boys in the team, and the children have to PAY to use some of the outreach facilities. He [AW] is turning into another Alex Furgeson, where everything is motivated by MONEY. A great shame. They used to have scouts to went to the local schools to pick lads for the Schoolboy Teams. Now. Nothing. If it dont pay, they dont do it.

Rita, I saw London Tonight too. A very silly young girl who didnt put her brain into gear before she spoke. I think it will all turn nasty again tomorrow. The police have a very difficult job. They cannot not right, for wrong.

Going to get on with a few cards, back later.

Looking at one of my holiday albums today I came across the photo I taken of the "smallest Chapel "in the world, It was xalled Saint Anne's " it was in France.I had gone to stay at Lake Anncey . . I went into the little chapel and lit some candles for the family. I had written done the size it was 14.98 mitres. I was on a tour of the French Resistance who held the Germans off for months they had been living in a place the Germans found it hard to get too. and we came a cross this Chapel on our way there.on the way back I saw the Graves of the French Resistance the Germans had finally managed to reach them and killed.them.
I was so interested out Tour guide brought me a book with all the details of the Resistance inside mind you it is all in French.

Maddie.
Mo will tell you I had trouble opening my emails from the GR site so I emailed them and asked why I was having this problem ? they said I must be doing something wrong? and said if it happened again to let them know . who it was f rom ? and they would see why.? but I sent Mo my email address it was silly all that problem with the emails.

The Students rally yes the march it tomorrow but they were out today in London dressed as animals and hoppng on and off trains and buses and standing around trying to get support. for the march. one young student. I am sure she had no idea at what she was speaking about. ? told the Presenter that she thought the police should stand back and not push into a peaceful march. . so she was asked what about the damage done to public property . ? she said there was no damage. and if there was she appears to think the police should not get involved. this is the furture generation speaking god help this county.
It appears that children as young as 13 are going on this march and the police said their parent should try and prevent them for doing this as they could get hurt with voilent intruders. The father said that was why he was going with her..
I thought it was university students that this was about not young students.

Maddie,

What is this game you mentioned.....'footie'?.

Is it a big game in GB?

How is it played ?

Stephen2009

Stephen2009 Report 8 Dec 2010 20:09

What !

Has the explosion happened ? I missed it, damn!

Patricia,

Hopefully a 'thaw' will happen toward the beginning of next week....a warm front is due to move in from the Atlantic.
The snow is going to last a while yet, but they should be able toclear the roads.

Other countries seem to manage fine, poor old GB, still in the dark ages.

The Ski Industry in Scotland need all the snow it can get....they have had poor seasons for years.

I still like the snow though......it makes even the worse garden look good.

Shelly I wore bloomers when I was small at school mine where black and had elastic in the legs and two little pcokets in to put your hankies Lol

Pauline I am pleased Brent had a good day.lets hope they improve
..Scotland and ireland have the worst weather accorrding to the News tonight.
Stephen I think your find those countries that have heavy snowfalls make sure they have things to help them. .like snowploughs and metals rings that go around the wheels or cars they have shoes that are extra thick soles that have grips on them as well. They have more sense than our Government and dont make excuses because they made a mess of things.
I heard a few people speaking about the weather one bright spark said we should have metal Bins with lids on filled with grit so people could shovel the stuff on the paths and roads. ( we are told not to shovel the snow off the paths and roads ) and those so called new ideas for bins in the road we had them when I was a young girl nearly all the roads had them.I know as we used them in our little road..
Then they said we should sprinkle cooking salt on the paths we did that as well I still have some cooking salt I brought it this year incase I needed it for the front path.

Stephen I support N I F B
I save used stamps up for them I have a large box in the Laundry room with a notice asking people to put their used stamps in . I post them off twice a year, I use to save them for RNLI but they said it didnt pay them to collect them now . so I switched to The Blind Charity
.
I also donate to The Anthony Norland Bone Marrow Chairty have done this since 1966.

I support Cancer research as well. being as it affects me and my family.

I buy my Desk Diary and handbag diary from the RNLI f rom their shop this year they came from weymouth in Dorset

I also send Letters Cards and parcels for the men in Afganistan

Good Evening All.

Footie on telly, so here I is. lol

Well, I am very pleased with myself. I managed to get everything I went out to get. I got the meat from Waitrose. Aberdeen Angus topside with 25percent off. A piece of leg pork. Then off to the west end.

It was heaving, but I was on my own, knew what I wanted, and was darting from shop to shop. So all in all, a good day. just got to write the cards now.

Marily has sent me a pm, but I cannot open it. Will try later.

More snow on its way for poor Stephen, I beleive. We can expect a rise of a degree or two in the South. Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Must get on a get myself a bit organised.

See you later.

ps. students rally tomorrow Rita and Mo.

I agree Rita, very amateuristic. The way they built it all up, it was a disappointment.

Rita

Rita Report 8 Dec 2010 19:43

Stwphen I havs never seen anything so amateurish as the explosion in Coronation street. they had two fiire engines. I think they ran out of water. ? they all stood by buildings that were ready to collapse the old mobile phones were being used to contact people in the building. and wondered why they had not answered.them rescuers were getting in and out of the building and kept tell those buried they had to wait till they had a hole big enough for them to get them out.
wjhat a load of rubbish.

Stephen,
I was listening to Radio Four this morning about the Scottish snow conditions. What do Norway,Sweden places like that do in winter?
i'm glad that I don't live there!
I've never seen snow like that ie 6 ft drifts.
When is the snow likely to go away in Scotland?

Stephen2009

Stephen2009 Report 8 Dec 2010 19:27

INSIDER INFORMATION

A friend is just off the phone .....he works with a TV Company

There is to be a huge explosion in Coronation Street.

Tell your friends.

You are now a jump ahead of them.

Stephen2009

Stephen2009 Report 8 Dec 2010 19:10

Patricia,

SNOW......I've enough to start a ski school.

My drifts are over 6ft high. On the level I have nearly four feet now.

The shops are running out of general food stuffs. No bread. No Milk.

Petrol is in short supply .

Schools are shut

Doctors on emergemcy calls only.

Many dental practices shut.

Temperatures at -15C. are general.

Yep ! We have a wee bit of snow in Scotland. And that's in the areas of largest populations, Edinburgh, Glasgow.

Scotlands busiest Motorway was closed for two days.

Remote areas are even worse off. Many roads have been blocked for over a week..

Off now to watch Corrie.

Finding presents,

NO PROBLEM.............I didn't ever get any.

We were so poor we couldn't even afford to smile.

Luxury for us was having an extra spoon to pass around to sup our thin watery soup.

The nearest we had to Turkey was the wee Sparrow we would catch, if we were lucky.

Our sweet was a lick at a sticky lolly.

Everything served up with a huge helping of LOVE.

You can't beat that for a Christmas Dinner

Marilyn,

Stingy.....NO you're not.....that's good recycling.

My wife and I have been reusing the same Cards every year since we married 42 years ago.......we have had to change the envelopes though....they were looking grubby. The colours and the ink have started to fade a bit. We have thought about putting them on ebay as a collectors item.

WHAT A FIBBER !!!!!!! ROFL
