Marilyn,
You're braver than me. I avoid those self service things like the plague. I use the self sevice thing in the P.O and that's about it!

Hi Everyone.

Well I have finished all my Christmas dinner shopping, just as I was going out the door I realized I needed some lemons, so went back in and got them, but looking at the queue I decided to do one of those help yourself service tills ......BIG MISTAKE !! I got in such a fuddle trying to weigh them as I'm told too by the till ,but nothing was working, I must have been there about 15mins trying to work out this bloody service . I should have joined any queue it would have been quicker !!

So now I'm relaxing before the storm of kids tomorrow ....just had a thought I forgot to get some Champers.......so if someone can shove a bottle down the Cyber hatch I would be more than pleased other wise I'm all ready.

Stephen ...I think Mrs Stephen should put you on the naughty step !! fancy peeping at my white spots .......LOL at least they are blending in with my faded tan now .

Shelly if your lights don't work B&Q has ALL decorations half price NOW...

I have made my table decoration all around a Christmas candle and it does look pretty .
Hi Yvonne ......not seen you for a while ..

Hi Yvonne, good to hear from you.
You lucky thing going to see 'Oliver ', where was it being played.
Most schools this way were all shut for about a week. But it didn't stop the children enjoying being out in it, building snowmen. They made me feel frozen watching them.
I have got to ask is DT design and technology. I believe it was known as woodwork when I was at school. Oh my god showing my age now.

hello everyone

how are you all?

I've been busy with other things this week so this is first chance I've had. Took me ages to read through the posts,
Jean very pleased with your good news and Marilyn why didn't you bring back a bit of warmth for us.

Don't know where we are going to put our tree this year ( no rude answers ) the place we usually put it is now taken up with a bookcase that son made in school for his DT exam

I've done all my christmas shopping, got the last of it yesterday.

Last Saturday OH and I went to see 'Oliver', my birthday pressie, it was really great, I enjoyed it, the singing and dancing. The sets were good too. Russ Abbott was Fagin

We didn't get much snow in Hertfordshire but my family in Kent were snowed in, my nieces went back to school Monday after a week off, (my family live on the opposite side of the River Medway to Mo)

Mo that happened to me the tree lights we had , had them for years and John use to check them each indivaul light and bulb they all worked so he trailed them over our large Christmas tree it was about 7 foot tall and then he said you have the joy of switching them on I did and four or five didnt work. he was not happy and neither was I . in the end he went and brough some new lights. I worked out how long we had them it was about 25 years or more. so it was about time we brought new ones.

Rita, I do agree with you, but, the trouble makers must have gone with the objects to cause trouble on their persons. In other words gone tooled up for trouble. I am not sticking up for any of them, they do themselves no favours acting up this way.
That poor policeman on the horse, really came under attack, I do hope he is o.k. I suppose we will be informed about him at a later date.

Shelly I'm glad you found the lights, have you tested them to make sure they work, before you put them on the tree. I got caught out that way once,
I had put the blessed things on the tree, and all the ornaments, then they didn't work. Cor did I swear, I had to take the whole flippin thing to pieces to find out which bulb had gone. Never again, so I bought a fibre optic one the next year.

Mo I dont think it was all trouble makers a lot of those were students I
I thought it was an utter disgrace they wonder why the police attack them ?what do they expect throwing billard balls and bricks and stones and flares and throwing paint at police officers faces.one was pulled off his horse and hit while on the ground the poor horse stamped on rider and then rush off in a panic poor horse. I hope he is not hurt the officer I think was taken to hospital. all those people in London are stuck there in their cars. all because of the Marchers. They seem to forget the police would not be there if they had not arranged this march the policemen are sons fathers brothers to some one.
The damaged they have done they should have to pay for that and clear the mess up.

Pat I am pleased you did save some money for the sales Lol
I have been spring cleaning yes you heard right spring cleaning in winter. I had this urge and enjoyed doing it. I feel tired now.

Pat, you should try M+S food, it's lovely. It may seem dear to some, but worth every penny.
I like Thor*t*ns chocolates, now they are delicious, and very moreish(sp)

I have just been watching the student riots, on the news. Oh my lord, I feel sure that most of the trouble makers are not students themselves, but the odd hooligans, who like to cause trouble. Look how many times the hooligans caused problems at football matches,in the past.

I do hope Maddie got through o.k.

I didn't spend all my money.
I got some Belgian Chocs from M & S for my hairdresser. It was manic in there. It isn't a shop I go in often. The lady in front of the queue had a trooley full of christmas food. It looked really nice.

Home Secretary, J R Clynes, was present at Princess Margaret’s birth in 1930. His attendance was required by an edict dating back to the Stuarts to ensure that the new baby was not switched at birth.

(I must stop reading about the existing Royals & learn more about the proposed new one.)

Maddie,

Football.........home grown.......it's hard to find a British name in most teams now.

Even the Managers are 'Foreigners'.

The last time I 'supported' a team was way back in 1957 or so when our local team.....all local lads....won the Scottish Cup.

Neither myself nor any of my seven brothers were into football. Unusual for a bunch of lads.We were all swimmers and divers.

My weird family all had webbed toes. A genetic malfunction from my Mums side of the family.
