Well, I feel very lucky that this house is lovely and warm, mind you, I panic if the heating doesn't come on straight away.

Do you get danger money Stephen when you decorate that entrance hall?

I know Shelly, I'm waiting for hubby to come back from work so he can dig a big hole.

Hello Catherine, welcome to the thread, help yourself to breakfast, we've got loads.

Pauline,

The entrance hall in my daughters house is around 35ft high in the stairwell......I have a grand job to do when I paint that...........and it's hell to heat. It finishes in a large glazed copula.....so guess where all the heat escapes.

Because it's a listed building we can't double glaze the sash windows and they are huge. Good curtains and shutters keep the heat in.

My God Maddie, 16ft high ceilings!! I thought mine were high at about 11ft. Our windows are ceiling to floor as well, but at least they're double glazed, so we don't lose too much heat. It must cost a fortune trying to heat your house in the winter.

Pauline,

I put some of my 'dirty snow' in the washing machine to clean it.

Someone must have opened the door of the machine and taken it out....it's not there any more.....strange.

Morning everyone.

So much food to choose from, what lovely people we have on here, making this delicious breakfast for us. Think I'll have sausage, bacon and egg with a cup of coffee.

We've still got ice on the road but most of the snow has gone. But like Stephen, we've still got piles of dirty snow and ice on the sides of the path.

Hopefully, the road will clear by the end of the day.

Good Grief !

Is that the time already..............I must have been asleep or something !

Two Breakfasts.........I can see my 'six pack' beginning to look more like a big melon. LOL

Morning you lovely ladies.........been out using the Morning Dew.?

Where has all my snow gone ? Just big heaps left now where I shovelled it to. And it's beginning to look all black and horrible. Think I'll paint it white.

Maddie....do you have insomnia....or are you just getting in from a party.

Jean..........trust you are well......certainly the breakfast is.

Mommy........What's shopping ? Is it sore to do that ?

Catch you later one and all.

Your wee, extremely handsome, very, very modest, Scotsman. ROFL.

Mommy dearest. I live in a big Victorian House.

There are about 10 steps up to the front door. The ceilings are about 16ft high. All the bleeding heat goes up there, not where we need it.

There are bay windows in the front, from floor to ceiling. All sash windows that cannot be double glazed.

The house is on a corner of two roads. One whistles from the north, the other from the east.

Get the picture. A big old draughty house.

Lovely and airy in the Summer. Bl@@dy cold in the Winter.
lol

I hope I dont get a snotty nose, I will have icicles.

Thanks to Maddie, Pauline and Marilyn for the e-cards they are lovely.

Well as we didn't get to Windsor, due to 2 ladies being unwell, I managed to get the tree up and decorated. I also found more of the free standing decorations which I had forgotten about, another Santa, a robin, a basket, a snow globe and I have a white sparkly hedgehog(bought in France several years ago).

Been to friends for an indian take away this evening. Hubby now dozing in the chair.
Got home to a message from siter in law................... Dad is back in hospital !!! He had a fall, is OK but bruised and his BP is too low so they want to check that. Guess he'll be in over the weekend until Monday at least. Must ring in the morning too late now,SIL is an early bird..

Catch you all in the morning

Maddie, my dad used to sing that song to us at Christmas, I'm sure he sang it to make us feel we were lucky .............whatever we got.

Oh, and thank you for the e-card, it's lovely.
