Hi Patricia which part are you going to? We are staying in Southsea but visiting family in Gosport. I bet the coach is quicker than the ferry.

Linda I am sure they will manage to sort your Dad.s problem , I had
seen many doctors with my problem it was only when my own GP came back off his holidays he was checking my notes when my friend in Norfolk phoned him.He told Shirley he was on his way round ro see me. as he thought he knew what the problem was.?
My Thyroids have been making me put on weight and then lose it again.

Then when I had PMR they started me on steriods and I have to have 9 a day now (they are trying to cut them down) The doctor told me that I would gain weight and I am, I have tried everything but in a year I gained a stone.I was in a panic. he told me not to worry he said you have done so well with all your illnesses so i try now not to worry. but I get embarassed about it.

LOL Stephen, you are deffo not like any Scot I know, I have always found them to be very generous in oh so many ways.
Never tight in buying rounds of drinks. lol

Stephen2009

Stephen2009 Report 11 Dec 2010 21:03

Being an extravagant Scot..... I have a 15watt bulb lighting up the outside of the house......I allow it to be on 10 minutes a day..........15 minutes on Christmas Eve.

I should add it's an energy saving bulb....saves even more money.

Edit.

Did I say 15 watt...............NO CHANCE..........it's a 5 watt bulb

Hi there Yvonne, are you working all day tomorrow then.
Don't you just hate it when neighbours, try to outdo each other.
Our outside lights are only the dropping icicle type, but that is enough for us.
I have lights intertwined with the garlands, over the mantle in the sitting room, and dining room. And the lights on the tree, that's enough as we only have a small house.
Luv Mo xxx

Catherine,

You have stirred a memory.

Maaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnyyyyy years ago near Jersey I helped rescue the crew of a yacht that was breaking up in heavy seas on a pile of rocks known as The Minkies.
They were very lucky to be alive.....the conditions were horrendous.

Have you heard of the Minkies ?

Cath2010

Cath2010 Report 11 Dec 2010 20:26

Dermot, Wont be here for New Year to change my name, lol and doubt I'll be sober. Going to Portsmouth on ferry after Christmas to see my best friends and celebrate OH's birthday (OH born in Portsmouth) so hoping for a calm crossing as it takes 13 hours and sails via Jersey.
Stephen, jet ski 80 odd miles, now theres a thought!! Maybe I'll try it sometime.
