Hi Marilyn Yes I watched that it was quiet a show place when they finished all those people to run that place as well ? I wonder what they did while it was being refurbished . all those jobs It is owned by some Prince isnt it. ? I think a lot of people use to stay at the Claridges Hotel,I use to think that was very posh.many film stars came over from the states and stayed there. I hope you have a nice time in Norwich Marilyn. the times I use to go there with my friends we use to eat out somewhere different every 6 to 8 weeks and we ate out there many times.at different Hotels and Country Clubs. cannot think of the names of any of them now. Have you ever been to Pompeli ? It was very hard walking about the streets they were all brick and tiles.and the buildings had some of the artifacts still in them. some walls had paintings and carving on they were saved from the Lava because of where they were standing.it was quiet errie but I was pleased we went. spent the whole day walking about there they have so many brotels . as well and spa baths in the town of Pompeli.I went on holiday with my daughter for ten days. we stayed just outside Sorrento. in and old Abbey converted into a Hotel.

Hi Rita,
Did you see that documentary last night on the Savoy Hotel ? if not just to tell you it took nearly three years refurbish it , and it was finished to a very high standard just hope it didn't make it too modern.
I'll watch that tonight ..Life & Death of a Roman Town.
Rita try and go to bed while you are not well and keep nice and warm.

Morning everyone it is very mild out.. I had to go to get my warfrin test done this morning. I was going to canel not feeling that well. but thought if I wrap myself up I will benefit from the fresh air. They told me at the surgery there is so many people going down with the flu and some are having swine flu. great and I refused itthe injection
I went and brought some long life milk incase we get the snow as forcast. it was empty in Waitrose . I got into trouble a little Indian child was running about her mother was shopping and the father was standing there watching the child . The little girl pulled the cords on the public telephone and yanked it hard. so I said to her you must not do that you will break it and someone might need it and cannot use it. . she shouted and ran off to her father. he had been watching her. he said what did you do to her?. I said nothing just told her to leave the public telephone alone but. you should keep an eye on her she was trying to pull the phone off the wall. she was screaming like mad. I felt bad but I could not let her do that. people phone for cars to take them home and if it is broken they cannot do that. little madam she was.
Just had phone call from my doctor she said Liz told her I had a terrible cough and she phoned and told me what to take. she said there is so much of it about at the moment. how many doctors take the trouble to phone their patients like that ?

Morning everyone.
I have had trouble getting onto this again, this morning.
Is it something I said, or have you just put the bolt on the door. lol
Hope your parents are feeling better Linda.
Wet and gloomy here this morning. Blacker than a witches hat.
However, I am off to look for a pair of wellybums this morning, if it is gonna snow again. Gosh I will look posh in my Hunters.
See you later. All this faffing around trying to get through the ether has made me run a little later than I would wish.
Keep well and warm all.

Hubby off to see the Dr this morning, bad pains in his knees............. made worse by having to repeatedly go up and down stairs to the aircraft all day, they might need to fit a lift for him to continue working.
Heard late last night Dad is back home, but Mum has some problems now? Will talk to my brother today to try to find out what is going on. Haven't been over with hubby working and Little with chickenpox............... daren't even think that they might end up with shingles on top of everything else.

Morning All
(_)?(_)?(_)?(_)?(_)?(_)?
Tea or Coffee
Porridge or Cereals. Poached egg on Toast or Bacon Rolls.
Loads of 'shooting stars' last night. Worth staying up for.
Hopefully a better day today. No more bad news.......please.
Lots of things to do in a short space of time......one at a time should see me get through them. That is if nothing else needs urgent attention.
Mrs Stephen will be getting her car back today. MOTd for another year. Really must think of getting her another one. The Steam Boiler in this one is nearly knackered and coal is so expensive now.
Perhaps one of these new fangled petrol driven ones would do. ROFL
Hey ho ! Off I go.
Have a good day ya all.

Hi Folks, not been ignoring you all tonight but I've been searching for an elusive GG grandparents death !! Theres a chance I've found it now so fingers crossed. Stephen many of my ancestors were Scottish and could dance the night away, unfortunately I did not inherit the dancing genes and am like an un-coordinated octopus on the dancefloor. The sniffles appear to have crossed the Channel and I am in dire need of a hot toddy before turning in.

Stephen a couple of months ago they showed you a film" that was taken at that time " retreat from Dunkirk" I watched it as my cousin stanley was there and they showed you the Scottish regiment who stayed behind to allow the forces to escape. the officer in charge offered to stay and fight so they stood more chance The British general said such brave men and none would back down.they fought till the could not longer carry on.

Maddie,
My Father in Law was a POW for 5 years. He was part of the 51st Highland Division captured at St Valery. They were the rearguard to allow the troops to escape from Dunkirk.
While in the POW Camp a Dance was devised by the Officers and men.......
The Reel of The 51st Highland Division
A grand Country Dance.
We danced it at my daughters wedding in memory of my Father in Law.
