I remember my 1st, and only, pair of hot pants. They were navy blue, (probably) polyester, and made by Ladybird. I was about 10, and I thought I was so cool:)

I cannot believe that a bright, upstanding, pillar of society such as your good self. Was out of his skull on the bolivian marching powder. lol

Hi everyone
Have a safe journey Marilyn and Peter. Hope the roads are OK, you might be wise to be going a day early.
Pauline thank you for forwarding Rita's wedding pictures. They are lovely and it is so nice that we are all sharing them, makes us get them out again ourselves too.
Hubby has arthritus in his knees. He is on strong painkillers and rest for a week.It is going up and down all the steps onto the aircraft all day at work. I've got a cold compress in the freezer right now, and he has exercises from the Dr too.
Dad is home again, another change of medication. Mum is very anxious and angry too, all to do with the dementia. My sister says she can't cope again if he goes away too soon. So I have suggested that she talks to all the care involved................ social worker, Dr, resident warden and carers ............ about getting a respite plan ready in case. I do think that they may both need to go into a care home for their own safety too. Neither one will cope without the other. But Dad is very much against this at the moment, but then he doesn't see her when he is away.

Went and got shopping in today, while hubby was able to drive. The shop was quiet. Now only need a few fresh things for Christmas, even have the Gammon for Christmas Eve and Boxing Day. Got several bottles of Cravendale milk, it's good til January, just in case I can't get out. I have 2 small gifts still to find, hoping to get into Bracknell tomorrow for them. There is a brand new Next store and I hope they have what I need.

Maddie I have new wellies bought this summmer at a country show.Usually have problems as I have chubby calves and boots won't go over them But these were good........... snug but at least I can get them on. Stephen would approve as they are pink with blue in a tartan(plaid) pattern, Very trendy eh !!

Catch you all tomorrow.
Oh well done Mo, and you were worried

Linda :o) XxX

Rita Report 14 Dec 2010 21:01

Marilyn I had natural curly hair my Grandmother one day put some rags in my hair and curled the hair around my Mother had a fit when she came home and saw it. it was like a rag dolls sticking out
at my wedding I rolled the hair around a brush to get it to look like that..
my sister use to get annoyed my having curley hair and black while hers was the Scottish side and ginger like my eldest sons .hers was straight.
My father was the same as mine he use to put loads of brill cream on the try and get rid of some of the curl.. I will have to see if I can find a photo of him when he was young.
Pat and Cath we will need your birthday dates if you dont mind. we like to send wishes on your birthdays. If you rather no that ok.
Stephen If I didnt know anything about my father or Mother and I had the chance to find out, I would want to know. even if you dont meet.?
even knowing my family there are things I wished I had known and will never now. I often sit and think about them.

In school, we were taught a little adage from Arabic in origin:

"He who knows, and knows he knows - he is a wise man: seek him.

"He who knows not, and knows he knows not - he is a child: teach him.

"He who knows, and knows not he knows - he is asleep: wake him.

"But he who knows not, and knows not he knows not - he is a fool: shun him."

Hi Maddie.
I'm sure you are not an old *art with an F.
We have a wonderful shop in our precinct, that sells all colourful wellies.
They are doing a roaring trade.
Oh purleeees Maddie, those were the days, all the thick pan stick make up,
false eyelashes, black kohl eye liner, and lashings and lashings of mascara.
I think the reason the shops were quiet Maddie, was because it was so cold. No one was hanging around today in town. Maybe people were going to places like Bluewater and Lakeside,as they are all under cover
and warmer.

Come on Marilyn, we have all shown our mugshots of our weddings, where is yours.

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 14 Dec 2010 20:22

Hello Everyone.

Hope everyone is well and warm.

Mommy I am an old fart who does not keep up with fashion anymore, so no I do not have any wellybums. I went looking for them, and yes you are right, they are very colourful.

One pair I saw was just the pattern of a dress I wore in the Sixties.

Now THEN I was fashionable. I was the trendiest up our street. I had the longest hair and the shortest skirt. The skinniest legs and the blackest of eyes [makeup] I thought I was the bees knees.

Most of the shops have been empty today. I think it will pick tomorrow if the snow is confirmed. I have been buying dribs and drabs, but must make a concerted effort this weekend. Or else the week will just go and we will be eating dripping sandwiches. lol

Talking of large families, my dad was one of 10, Mum one of 8. No telly you see. pmsl

Rita, your warfarin check up are very important arent they. I used to have to go every fortnight when I was on it. I am now on aspirin just to keep my blood thin. I bruise like a peach. lol

Precious, moi?
