Rita Report 19 Dec 2010 19:59

Yes Stephen I am Ok. I had the old fellow call on me for the flat above, he said I have done our washing (his wife and his )today instead of tomorow.
He told me to leave my bag out and I will take it into the laundry room to morrow and do it for you. I told him it was alright not to worry he said put it outside your door or I will ring. he also told he has to go to the post office tomorrow so if you need a newspaper or letters posted let me know I will do it for you.88 he is running around like and 38 years old.
I rember people were like this during the war, our street doors were never locked.
My friend across in the other flats always rings when she is going out to ask if I need anything ? she is a lot younger than I am and has not been here that long.
Our Estate manager is home her flights were cancelled to Poland so she said she is having her money back and going at easter instead.
I got a shock when she said I have to go to waitrose to get some shopping as I have nothing in I would not do this normally but in this case I will get anything for you that you need. Ted said Rita is alright people around wil help her if she needs anything.it made me smile
I still have a terrible cough it keeps me awake at night.

Hello Mommy and Shelly,
I really love the summer although I have the wrong complexion for sunbathing, pale skin and what used to be red hair but alas is now white!!
I just slap on lots of factor 40, a sun hat and enjoy it anyway. Always manage to get up early in the summer even on holiday, but at the moment I just peep out from under the duvet and if its still dark stay put a while longer.

We are generally a quiet if not a silent people. We usually take things as they come - football violence, Network Rail, potholes, poverty, X-Factor and the occasional bout of prosperity followed by recessions & the wrong kind of snow.

We've not had a real revolution for a while.

Good evening all.
It sounds like you are all feeling like me, cheesed orft with this weather again.

Stephen can you keep the snow up there Purleezz. Every time you go out to clear the paths, you are sweeping it down this way.
Your broomstick should be used for good purposes, like bringing joy and laughter. It's about time we had a bit of FUN. When are we having the sleigh ride you promised.
One miserable fed up Mo xxx

I had to open my big mouth and say we didn't have snow ..........we've got loads of it now. It started about 4pm and it hasn't stopped yet, it's already quite thick. Looks like I'm stuck in tomorrow again.

I've had my nephew and his family here today, but they've gone now because they're afraid they'll get snowed in.

Better get the shovel out and wellies on again.

Stephen2009

Stephen2009 Report 19 Dec 2010 17:28

Back to the usual chore......shovelling snow.

It's a very fine powder and shifts ok. The way things are looking I'll need to be out every hour from now until midnight unless the snow stops.

Then up early and start again.

Temperatures to go down to around -15C to -18C.

'It all makes work for the workingman to do'

No doubt the 'bampots' will create mayhem on the roads tomorrow.

Dame Shelly......are you ok.? Up at 8am......I hadn't even made your breakfast at that time.

Christmas Shopping......what's that ?

Don't you believe in Santa ?

Santa never lets me down......... every year without fail he makes sure our presents are there on Christmas Day.

You should always send him a wee letter with your requests

Back later after a bit more snow shovelling.

Afternoon all.

We had a tiny bit of snow during the night and none since .........thankfully. With a bit of luck I'll be able to go shopping tomorrow because there's nothing stopping the Day Centre bus from getting here.

Maddie, I'll send you the photos, it's just a slight tint over the photo, that's all. Our Stephen came out very well with a bit of colour, quite a handsome man.

Stephen2009

Stephen2009 Report 19 Dec 2010 14:05

Maddie,

Council Boundary Line !

I n Edinburgh there is a pub that straddles the Boundary Line between the Council of Edinburgh and that of Leith.

Inside the Pub a brass plate runs right through the bar. One side Edinburgh the other side Leith.

Years ago Licence Laws differed from one side of the Bar to the other. When it was closing time in Edinburgh you crossed the line into Leith and could drink for an extra hour.

Needless to say it was called 'The Boundary Bar'.

AW SH*T !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It has started to snow here again.

We have had very little respite from this white hell since it started on the 28th November.

Will get the snow shovel on the go again shortly just to try and keep on top of it.

The old hard packed stuff will now be totally treacherous with the new coating on the top.

He Ho life's a beach !
