Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 30 Dec 2010 18:26

Chip shops also sell the pies as well Pauline. We did have a pie mash and liquor(sp) shop open up locally, but it never took of down here. But for true Londoners, it's ecstasy, the same as jellied eels, yuk nasty.
Now give me a good ol steak +kidney pudding any day.

Stephen, does haggis have white pudding in it? What exactly is in haggis?

Most chip shops round here are owned by Chinese now but when I was young we could only get chips, fish, fishcakes or patties, they didn't sell anything else. We had pie shops that sold pies and peas and we had pork shops that sold pork dips and saveloy dips.

STEPHEN please, you know what haggis does to you, it's certainly not YOUR breath thats smells after eating it. lol
Your gases could be used to fill helium balloons.

Pauline they have big jars of pickled onions, gherkins and eggs in the chippies around here, but no mushy peas in Kent, but probably do in London.

Mo, I've never heard of anyone eating a pickled onion with chips, our chip shops didn't sell them.

Shelly is always the sensible one, she's got her feet firmly on the ground.

Hi Pauline, thank goodness you are o.k, you had us in a bit of a tizz worrying that you may have been unwell.
But sensible Shelly had her thinking head on,and said it may have been problems with your internet, or that you were under the weather.
It takes something, when one of our youngest friendlies has her head screwed on right.
I am glad that they have sorted Brents care workers and nursing staff out at long last.
They certainly took their time getting Brents flu jab done. But with all the flu viruses going around at the moment, it's far better to be safe than sorry.
I hope hubby doesn't get you down to much, with his man flu, and that he doesn't pass it on to you love.
You will have to get your face mask out to keep the germs away.

Dermot, we are going to be Great Grandparents next year, and Rita already is one, but neither of us made the news. Now I wonder why that is. Are we not famous enough or something. We have a family tree, (it's an Apple tree in the garden).

It's a long time since I heard that Stephen.

By the way, I've just remembered something that Mo and Maddie were talking about earlier ............ a wallie!! What the hell is that? Don't fancy eating something called a wallie.

And when we wanted batter on our chips we just asked for chips with batter, cracking is pork fat to us.

Thanks Stephen, I'm OK now that I've had a bit moan.

Dermot, you could always offer to do it for them.

Some really good news.

Princess Anne & Capt. Mark Phillips are Grandparents. This means that Her Majesty & Prince Philip are now Great-Grandparents.

Hope someone remembers to update the Family Tree.

Pauline,

Good to see you back.

Have a good rant on here and get it off your chest.

You did have us worried.......even wee 'Fluffy Paws' was missing you.

Thank you for the photos Marilyn, they're great. I didn't know you were dark haired when you were young. You were tiny when you were married ............a stick insect, but you looked beautiful. Those shoes looked very pointy, did they hurt your feet?

I'm sick of having people here, never had any time to myself. That's why I haven't had time to put my lappy on. Sorry if I worried you.

That doesn't sound very sociable I know but I'm not a good hostess, can't be bothered to be fussing over guests all the time.

I've got a hubby with man flu and a possessive son to look after, plus we've had meetings with new care workers and nurses.

We've had Brent to the doctors this afternoon to get his flu jab, the nurse was supposed to come to the house in October to give it to him, but after weeks of phone calls - she still hasn't turned up. It would have been quicker to just take him to the doctor in the first place.

Hi all.

Sorry to hear about the colt Jean, poor little thing didn't get much of a chance did he?

It's taken me ages to catch up, and I haven't got a clue what I've read. Think I was about 12 pages behind.
