I am back on. as you are all awake.. so many of us have this blessed flu virus. it take a lot to get over it.. it is over three weeks since I caught it. I wish now I had had the flu and swine flu jab, I told my doctor that when he called to see me. he said dont worry about it you have enough problems. . I am going to my sons for dinner tomorrow he is calling for me in the morning so I shall see the grandchildren and my sons mother in law. who will also be there.
I want to wish you all a very HAPPY NEW YEAR.for 2011. I hope you all have a healthy one that is top of my list for you all.

Hi Marilyn Yes I did get the mixed flu jab, due to underlying asthma. Glad I did it might have been even worse if I hadn't. Has Pete been to the DR yet? Hope he gets things sorted he doesn't need another crisis situation. My father has spent time in hospital in Malta and in Limassol Cyprus and although the treatment was good, never the same as at home and Mum was really left alone to cope too. He was probably unaware of how she managed.
Take care everyone and have a good day.
Hope you feel much better soon Maddie

Morning everyone Sorry I have been missing, but I caught the cyber-bug that has been doing the rounds so thought I'd stay away to try and kill it off. Hubby has gone back to work this morning. Miserable 3 days off for him. Went to my brothers onTues but hardly able to eat, horrendous head aches and starting to cough. Wed laying down most of the morning, hubby prepared a meal for his sister and BIL. Not much change in me, ate a tiny dinner. Yesterday more sleeping, rattling from all the pills and sloshing from the cough mixture....................... do any work????? Small meal again. No treats chocolates and cake and biscuits all untouched by me. Must be ill !!! I didn't go to my parents, they are unwell anyway, think Mumhas some virus, and I definately didn't want to take them this, it might killthem off. Hope everyone else is getting better. Jean so sorry to read of the colt, it must be hard loosing one so young, even if he was poorly when born. No New Years celebrations here tonight as Hubby has to get up again tomorrow at 5:00am, have to keep those planes flying !!
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL Hope we will all be healthier.

Good Morning Everyone.
Got in late from work last night, and am off soon.
Still coughing, but now it is dry. So maybe be shot of it soon.
So sorry about the little colt. Very sad.
Right, a Wally is a pickled gherkin. We had three big jars on top of our chippy counter. Lovely Italian people, who could serve us chips, and flash their eyes at the same time. lol
The jars were arranged so. Picked onions, gherkins, then pickled eggs. Looking back now, it seems a little suggestive. But being kids, we didnt get it. Our chips were dry, but had salt and vinegar [with chillies floating in it] splashed all over them. In Sunderland this year, we walked pash a chippy that served them with gravy, I am sure Pauline will bear this out.
Pie and mash shops. MMMMMM. Hot Pie and Mash with liquor. Hot Eels and Mash, or Jellied Eels. Lovely.
Also Tubby Isaacs for cockles, whelks, eels and other shellfish such as shrimps and prawns.
I dont need for rhyming slang book Marilyn, I can hold my own again anyone. Proper slang, not the nonsense made up for Only Fools and Horses. that was just tosh.
If I dont get back on this tonight,
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE.
Much Love to Everyone Maddie x

Morning All...
Stephen.... interesting Yacht that Moosk, I have probably seen it many times as I walked on the Hoe and around all the Marinna's in Plymouth.Mount batten is the place to be when Sailing Races are on and there are many.I don't know if you are aware , but Mount Batten has been opened to the public as the old RAF station has been knocked down sadly many memories of that !!, and it looks fantastic it has grass spots layed out and a new Pub & Hotel , you can get a ferry to the Barbican and even walk on the pier and have a grand view of all yacht races... My Son took a coarse in sailing with his marine friend ,but never got around to sail very much his babies came along ..LOL
Shelly.....what is the name of the bible that daughters reading ? could it be Gideons ? or has the Mormons been knocking and left her some reading to do . Does she want to read my Rhyming Slang book after ...LOL
Well I'm out all day today ,my Daddy's not well so going to pay a visit he went to a hotel over the Christmas in Torquay and felt unwell mind you his wife of 97yrs had to look after him ,so I will get it in both ears !!.

Next time your out that way look for a real old lady of the sea called
'MOOSK'
She is used for Sail Training now. A wonderful yacht.....104 years old now.
If you visit Cremyll Sailing you will see her 'Birth Certificate' on nice parchment paper. A real piece of history.
I presented it to the Sailing School in memory of one of the previous owners of the yacht.
Do a Google for MOOSK and you'll find an interesting story.
Barbara Simi who runs Cremyll Sailing with her hubby was sailing right up to a week before the birth of one of her children.

A Glaswegian stops before a graveyard in a Gorbals cemetery and notices a carved tombstone declaring:-
"Here lies a lawyer and an honest man..."
"Ach, who'd ever think..." he murmured, "there'd be enough room fer two men in that one wee grave..." -------------------------------------
The old ones are the best!
