Morning Jean, Shelly, Marilyn, Cath and Stephen
Wet Miserable and fed up with the weather!!! Still I do appreciate that so many others are worse off than me. Australia, Brazil and Shri Lanka to mention a few. I don't think anyone knows why the worlds weather is changing so much. What happened to global warming?
Rita I hope your son's operation goes really well and he will have a pleasant summer to build his strength up.
I have seen two of our missing people over on Facebook......... Yvonne and Sue.Lady does tend to disappear for a while and then pop in again.
Well more paperwork today. Don't think I'll be venturing out in the wet. The cough is slightly less but still annoying me.
Have a good day everyone At least it's warm

Linda :o) XxX

I'm surviving with this dam tooth of mine or crown shall I say, I went to the dentist here but almost walked from the chair, it was so antiquated with out of date equipment that I just alloed the dentist to prescribe some anti inflammatory tablets ,then paid her and RAN ....LOL

So about to ring my dentist in UK this morning for an urgent appointment , so here's hoping I can get one as soon as I get home.
My brother said Pete had a phone call from the hospital to see his consultant about his gall bladder op.

Evening All.

Hope we are all well and warm.

Bit more brighter today, although tiddling down now.

Rest up Jean, we want you fighting fit for March.

Yes Mo, I did enjoy my day out with Dave. He is a barmy as I am, and we spend most of our time laughing. He is a good kid, he used to go around to my Mum on his own when he first left school. I didnt know until she mentioned it. He used to turn up, they would chat, share fags {what?]. I know my Mum used to love him going around, cos he reminded her so much of my Dad. His actions, his easy way of talking.

Pauline hope Brent is feeling better with this mouth, and Marily hope her gums have healed too. Nothing worse than any sort of mouth complaint, cos you feel anything is amplified. You have more sensors in the mouth than any other. I'm talking drivel now, but you know what I mean.
Note to self. SHUT UP UNTIL YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. lol

I too wear gogs for reading. I have two pairs. One metal framed for work, and an intelligent pair for home. I think they make me look like an owl. A bit like Michael Caine in the Ipcress File.

You can tell I am getting tired, wandering.

Night all.
Sweet dreams

Mo,

What we really need is a few bottles of good Malt Whisky.

Feed that to the Staff.....get them all pie eyed.

Then we can nick Jean without them noticing.

Broomstick will be ready.

Can I bring 'Fluffy Paws' if he promises to behave ?

Hi Stephen, friendship means a lot to all of us, and we all care for one and other, you included you know, especially when you are late on parade.
I think we should all invade Jean at the hospital tomorrow night. Broomsticks at the ready for a 7.30 lift of. If this time is not convenient for everyone, we can change it.
I am sure Jean will sneak out and put the kettle on for us, other than that we can take a bottle( of milk) with us.

Rita, I can hear you shouting Jean from here in Kent. I bet they have taken her lappy away from her again, the meanies.
I had to laugh at the escapade with the steamer. But they certainly do create a lot of steam dont they.
Ours not only took the wallpaper of, it also took the plaster of the walls lol
I am looking forward to the land girls coming back on again as well. I found the last series very interesting, even though some of the things that happened were not true to form.
The sooner they do your sons operation, the better, he can then get back on the road to recovery love.
I know it's hard to do, but you must try not to worry yourself to much, you have been through enough yourself, let alone making yourself unwell by worrying to much.
It will be nice for your daughter and son in law, to have a nice holiday this year, they deserve it .

Mo in Kent Report 13 Jan 2011 20:35

Pauline mum could see some things, but they were quite blurred. I know you'll think this strange, she loved her T.V, more than her radio. Most of the soaps, were her favourite programmes, and she could follow a lot because of the dialogue.
I think I told you she had dementia, and on one visit to her, she told us that she had been made to drive a bus, even though she told them she was registered blind. We laughed when she told us, but she firmly believed she had done it. So sad really, but it's part of the dementia.

Stephen if I tried to put one of the Mull Driers in my garden, there would be no room to walk around the garden. It's so tiny out there, but big enough for me to manage when it come to doing the gardening.

Rita Report 13 Jan 2011 20:29

Pauline I think my family has a curse on it for the past five years our health has gone down hill
I dont think any of us have got away with anything in the way of health.

My daughter was intouch earlier and she said she had booked a holiday for her and her husband Steve they are going to a holiday centre at Chiesl beach in Dorset they are looking forward it . being as they didnt go last year due to Steve cancer,. she said I am going on
the 9th July ( that is the same date I am going with my sister to Isle of wight.)
My daughter really needs this holiday with all the worry she had with Steve being so ill she is a dibetic and has high blood pressure as well as heart trouble. so I do hope the weather will be kind to them.

I watched East Enders this evening for a change.
I am looking forward to "The Land Girls " which is coming back on on Monday afternoon. It brings back some memories. but it wasnt all like that.

HI Jean can you HEAR ME ? how are you this evening ? hope you are finding things to do.

Hi Catherine see you are busy. I recall the days when I had wet washing in the house tryng to dry it everything got damp even the wall paper.

Talking about wall paper
I thought of something that might bring a smile to your faces, a friend of my husband was called out to one of his friends he was a decorator. her husband had tried to get some washable wallpaper off their wall.and they were friends so he took his steam stripper with him. and used it on the walls it eventuall took all the wall paper off the wall . she had been and had a perm that day and she had been sitting watching her husband and his friend at work the steam made her perm come out. and her hair was strait. she was furious with them, she said it had cost her a fortune to get her hair done.
when I was told I laughed I should not have really but at least she got the wall paper off the walls,

Pauline so you enjoyed you visit to Auntie then ? I bet she was pleased to see you.
I have no Aunties left now to visit infact none of the family only my children.

Our weather isn't that good yet, haven't been able to get the washing out either.

Mo, she's got reading glasses but only needs them if she's sewing very dark areas. I need mine for reading and using my lappy, as well as sewing........... don't need them for knitting though.

Was your mam totally blind Mo, or could she see a little bit?

Mo in Kent

Mo in Kent Report 13 Jan 2011 19:04

I know what you mean about getting the washing dry Cath. My house looks like a chinese laundry at the moment.
I changed both of our beds this morning, and have had the central heating on all day to try to finish drying it of.
The towels are the worst things to get dried, especially the bathsheets.
Oh for just a few days of sunshine, to hang the washing out in the fresh air

My goodness Pauline, your aunt is a wonder, doing all that needlework without glasses. Does she have to wear them at all,for other things.
Like you, I have to have my reading glasses for close work, and my distance glasses for watching the T.V. I don't have to wear glasses permanantly luckily enough at the moment, but who knows what the future may hold.
My mum had the age related degenerative eye disease, and was registered as blind, and hated it when she could no longer do her knitting,
or read her books.
Beware of bogus phone callers LOL
