Pat, I am reading the Landry Family series. I made a mistake, I have got the five books in that particular series, I miscounted them.
Sorry I didn't answer your question earlier, but Jean threw me with her posting, and I wanted to put my point across to her. I know I am a bit long winded with my responses. LOL

Dermot Report 30 Jan 2011 20:27

Jean - I instigated this subject & the intention was certainly not to upset or insult anyone else. I tried to summarise some events of my young days in Ireland in the 1950/60s based on my memories of the time.

From time to time, I hope to add further topics which may give readers a laugh (or a cry perhaps). As the others have said, stick with us Jean. It is a ‘Friendly Thread’ after all.

Cath,
I'm a Leeds Utd fan and an Exeter City fan. Glad you had a nice birthday. The food sounds nice but I haven't been to an Indian Restaurant for ages. I've had tikka masala from the supermarket.
Jean don't be daft. I'll miss you if you weren't on the thread. I hope your back gets better soon.

Mo is right Jean. You always think of others and are friendly to us all.
You must have led an interesting life and I expect that is where your love of animals and horses in particular has come from. (((((hugs)))))

Jean, my goodness love, it makes no difference to me at all, who your
Ancestors were, it's you the person we know.
We all love you for your big heart, and friendly nature. You must have inherited some wonderful qualities from your father.
And I would have loved to have met your father. I bet he had some great tales that he told you as a child.
And your mother (and I will call her that as she raised you) must have been a lovely lady.
Please continue your friendship with us, as you are dear friend to us all,and we would miss you desperately.
I hope your back is better tomorrow, I bet it was that horse kicking you, that has started the pains of.
Have a peaceful night. Night Night god bless you. Speak to you tomorrow.

Jean,
friendship is all important.
I take people as I find them. Who they were born to and whatever faith they follow is irrelevant.

Big thanks to everyone for messages and pictures etc. I've had a lovely day and just got back from Indian restaurant, (sons treat), we had to eat early as his daughters at school tomorrow. I had Bangladesh tandoori chicken, Bombay aloo and a garlic naan. Thats it now, on with the diet!
Really chilly tonight, have just lit woodburner and got heating on.

Hello everyone, I hope you have all had a good weekend.
Rita, glad to hear Mike is making good progress, prayers and thoughts with him.

I have not been on computer much this weekend, my back has been very sore so sitting at computer wasn't too easy.

Have just been reading the last few days posts, a lot of you have met famous people, that must give lots of happy memories. I was also interested in the posts about travellers, I have something to tell you which may make you feel you don't want to talk to me any more, and if it does I will respect your feelings. I am Romany, my Father was a full blood Romany, and I was born to a young Romany woman but my Father was married to a Gorgeo and she took me as her baby. well there, I have told you now, this is the first time I have told anyone who doesn't know me personally.

Thank you for your friendship which I have appreciated.

Go with your God and in good health.
Jean xx

Pat do you watch the Vampire diaries on the T.V. It's starting again this week, and I can't wait to catch up with it.
I have bought two other books to intersperse between the Virginia Andrews books. Just in case I get bored and need a change.

PatriciaAnn

PatriciaAnn Report 30 Jan 2011 19:31

Hi Mo,
I bet you won't be able to read all six books in a row, You'll want a change won't you? I've still got 7 vampire books to read at some point.
I'll google Virginia Andrews. I've never read any of her books.
i wouldn't know what to do if my lappy went wrong. I'd phone up my brother in law or nephew! I don't really do much except go on here, Facebook ,e mail and listen to radio stations and internet.
